Original video I watched for the idea is linked below. For more details like how to lengthen the noodles for bigger quilts, watch this video. • How to Make a Quilt Sa...
Thank you for showing your way. I learned a little different where I didn't role it back up on the noodles. I think the way you did it will help me catch when I have a wrinkle then I can fix it then! Thank you so so much! I am going to try it next time!
I missed this when this was new. I'm not going to be able to purchase a longarm so I am going to give this a try. I watched this and the other video you listed. Thank you for sharing.
This was a great video, doesn’t take long to watch, and really shows what you want to see. Awsome, the best noodle video I’ve seen. Well done.💐thank you.
Yes! I thought about storing quilts rolled up on noodles as they wait for finishing. I think I'd use a layer of batting around the plastic once or twice first to prevent any color bleeding or plastic smell transfer into the fabric. LOL I can just see us quilters hauling rolled pool noodles in to the quilt stores looking for a backing!! :-D
Hi. This is Sabina. Thanks for sharing my pool noodle video. It wasn’t my idea either, but it’s wonderful. Lots of people want to know how to use the noodles with spray baste, so I’ll be referring them to your video.
Thank you so much for this video. I enjoyed the Visual without all the talking about how to do each step. It was short and to the point. I needed this, as I don't have a long arm or a mid arm. Was looking to get a John Flynn Quilt Frame, but this looks slot easier.
I too just recently watched a video on how to do that and just got the noodles. Wish I could get it done in speeded up time tho. Enjoyed watching your video.
Your video is amazing! I've watched other videos doing this method & they were slow & boring.. but, this video rocks it right out there, making it so easy to understand! Thank you!!
Oh, WOW! I love this! I’m using this technique ASAP! You made it look so easy! I love it! I have a cutting table the same size as yours. Just have to get new noodles and I’m about out of spray adhesive. My noodles are curved and scungy from being in the river! Sounds like a trip to Walmart is in my future! Thank you so much for this great video!
ACK! No river noodles allowed!! lol You need "Dedicated Quilt Noodles" :o) I got mine at Dollar General for $1 each. And I like the skinnier ones for the smaller quilts like the wall hanging I used in the demo. Enjoy!
Well, I'll be batter dipped!! I like this idea for quilting on my domestic machine, but also for my long-arm ... sometimes I have a stack of quilts waiting to be quilted ... this would be a tidy way to keep them on the ready!
What a neat idea. I will have to give that a try, hopefully I can find pool noodles since the stores are switching over to winter already. Hope you can give an update of your Kimberbell weekend and the finished wreath quilt how you quilted it. You get so much done in your sewing room and you are working full time and I retired at 64 yr old can't seem to get in my sewing room as much as I would like this summer--maybe too much weeding, canning, and freezing with the garden.
Hi there! I got my noodles at the dollar store. Yes, we have to pick and choose what we do with our time. I do have lots of time savers like the crock pot, Instant Pot, and a time delay on my washer. But still things need to get done. We don't have a garden and I do some canning when my friends' gardens overproduce. What I don't do is spend time in front of the TV. Since I discovered that my blood pressure dropped significantly the more time I spend in the sewing room, I try to be there as much as possible. Thanks for watching!
Wow! I am impressed! It makes centering all the sandwich pieces so much easier! Question: how do deal with the fumes from the spray adhesive? I have always been concerned about using it indoors.😊
Totally love your video's You made this look so easy. its a queen. do you recommend using 2 noodles for all the large fabric ?? and my batting pkg says to pre shrink so i did. Now i cant find the bumpy side.
Yes, for a queen you'll want to use two noodles for each part. Use a 24" piece of PVC or other more narrow tubing to attach them end-to-end. If you can't find the bumpy part of your batting, I wouldn't worry about it. If you can't find it outside of the fabric, it won't matter when it's inside. :)
If you were to take a quilt to a long armer, you’d have to add about 5” on all sides for top and batting, so this is pretty much the same. I’ve had to reroll when I tried to get away without some extra backing, so I was glad I had pinned instead of sprayed.
That's the only quilt I have done with this method, however the original video I link to in the description box shows how you can link more than one noodle together by putting a rod or dowel in the holes to align multiple noodles. What a chore! lol
Yes, I'm using 505 (I use my 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby). I really like it and I don't notice any fumes. Then I pin baste just because of the humidity in my area. I don't want anything shifting. Thanks for watching!
@@PowerToolsWithThread Good to know about the 505 spray cause I'm sensitive to all kinds of strong fumes & fragrances. I'm in the humid south also so will definitely be using the pins with it! Thank you so much, Becky!
@@PowerToolsWithThread I’ve got an idea for u if you use baking sil mat on your cut and iron board you use for trimming and when your hooping it will help a lot I do it all the time works really great
