I remember that once, I got to be a leader, I bought as much things as possible, the tax was low and I even helped my people in the fields. Then, everything changed when the Barbarians attacked. The town's gate was barely holding up, and the mere guards I had were trying to fend off as much as possible. I acted. I threw myself into the fight, time and time again, stabbed by swords, pierced by arrows and having my limbs torn off. The doctor was my saving grace, giving me new limbs and tying me to a wheelchair when I inevitably lost my legs. However, that did not help me, as when the Barbarian menace started to become weaker, I made a mistake. I jumped outside the gates, filled by bloodlust to finish off the wretched spawn akin to a wild animal more than man, but it was too strong for my weakened, battle-torn body to handle. There were more of these wretched scum, and thus I rolled down the entrance's slope as I got stabbed by their miserable weapons, all but a corpse of someone who resembled a bloodlusted Demon, rather than a leader. My guard cried in sorrow, and the doctor who held my vigor up weeped, knowing that nothing could save me from my own arrogance. I came back, to observe my own kin mourning the absence of my leadership, and my ugly, ravaged body be picked up by a janitor and thrown into the Abyss, to be no longer material, to be no longer of use to my people...
just to add onto the video: -Civilians tend to hate it when theres a lower ratio of wages than taxes, so id recommend you to keep wages higher but still pretty balanced overall -guards voting and medics getting money from healthcare is usually subjective. The best option is to let your doctors get money from healthcare and no taxes. If your guards arent corrupt, you can let them vote because really its just usually a quick 50/100 dollars for voting if most people agree with the current laws. -letting citizens buy weapons is very risky. I'd advise to only allow them to buy weapons in small servers. -to be honest, leader leading the fight during barbarian raids isnt necessary and its best to just fend off them alongside your civilians but overall, i think this is a good video on what you should do for a long reign as leader
5:01 When I was a leader I did not have the opportunity to fight alongside my guards against a wave of barbarians. But I did start working in the rice field all alone when no one could since the reserves were empty 🤴=👨🌾
As a proud guard main, you got 3 options if you wanna live, 1.I pay tax but I can vote. 2. I don’t pay tax but I can’t vote. And 3. We don’t pay taxes and we can vote
I was actually a good leader once by not having taxes and a high wage, and doing everything the citizens asked, but for some reason they all decided to kill me after all that. I became the most corrupt leader u could ever imagine.
I dumped 2.5k into a city, and all because I needed money to SUSTAIN THE TOWN, I made doctors pay taxes, then EVERYONE JUST OVERTHREW ME FOR SOME REASON, then the server went into chaos, and as a matter of fact, even though I had only 15k, a person with 222k or something had ONLY 1 DAY MAX AS LEADER. Edit: people now think 0% tax is normal.
I did this once and i had about only 2.2k yet they really liked me. Other than one guy that wanted me to resign for his turn. I would fight the barbarians and upgrade alot. Oh so that guy that hated me then killed me yea
