Agreed, as an Ashe main, she doesn't get enough love. I use the technique of always trying to flank a team and then using dynamite and shooting it just as it reaches the enemy, or shooting it right in the middle of them so it helps my teammates as I can't get to everyone in one go. I use Ashe more for room clearing than for sharp shooting, opting for medium to close range and only really using long range to harass and divert attention or to headshot a distracted enemy that thinks their flanks or rear are secure. Flanking is quickly moving to attack your enemy from their side while they're distracted by your buddies in front of them. Even better if you can get behind them. They can't divert attention to both your buddies and you attacking from the side or rear, so they're going to be open to one of you no matter what. If you meet a genji, wait to use your dynamite on them until they've lost a little health and once he's burning, mag dump until he dies. If he starts reflecting your bullets back at you, be calm and stop firing so he wastes his skill. Maintain distance as he is a melee combo character with his ninja stars. With Widowmaker you're basically countersniping and it's a good way to take the pressure off of your buddies. If you can't kill her then harass her until a better enemy to take out pops up. Be sure to make it second nature to shoot your dynamite where you want it to explode as waiting for it to explode on the ground is a waste of time and most enemies will just run away from it. That's a big one that most Ashe players don't use. You can toss it into a balcony from below where a Widowmaker or sniper character is hiding and break up their fun as you shoot it right as it enters the room. If you're stacked up with your buddies and there's a winston, orisa, or sigma shield, help them out by softening it up with your rifle. Dva sucks to fight but just treat her mech like it's a shield and get her out of it, then use dynamite on her. The coach gun is great for when you're close to killing someone and you run out of ammo, I usually use it to jump around and create distance so I sometimes forget to use it when I'm out of ammo in the middle of a fight. Now to address the hip firing vs aiming damage difference. Aiming does do more damage but it cycles a good 60% slower than hip firing. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss. If you take your time to set up a great aimed shot that you miss instead of hip firing about 3 to 5 shots that hit simply because you have your reticle over them instead of fishing for that perfect hit box, you're not utilizing your large ammo capacity. Aiming is a good trick for when you're low on ammo and need to beat the enemy player that's low on health. Instead of hip firing your last 3 shots, try aiming your first one and you might take them out and save your ammo you might need to get out of a bad situation. Now about the reloading. Always be reloading. Try flanking your enemy and dumping 6-8 rounds into them. If they chase after you, use your coach gun to create distance and get around a corner. Be reloading as you're creating distance. If you haven't used your dynamite yet, time it and shoot it right before they round the corner so they can't escape it and mag dump into them until they die. Always be moving and reloading. If you're not directly engaging an enemy player, reload. If you have a lull in a fight and there's any time to think clearly, you should be reloading. With Bob, try placing him in a spot behind the enemy that pushes them into you as they try to get away from him or where he can get a good shot at most of their team. He does count as a player for the payload or an objective so if you can flank the enemy team with a payload and drop bob right on the back of their payload, it'll be contested and stop and the enemy will try to get away as Bob shoots at them, getting them away from the payload and pushing them either into your buddies or towards you, or into a corner where you can dynamite them. The mindset of Ashe I use is similar to Sombra; cause chaos and break up their team, focus on the healers and weaker players so you take away their tank's support system for when they need to get a break. Keep them distracted so that they can't focus on all sides of the fight. Also do everything you can to take out Mei, she's evil incarnate. I don't know a lot but I hope this helps the other Ashe players.
Ashe is such a strong hero. As an ashe and doomfist main I can’t help but say this. 3 shot kill while she has a high rate of fire? Broken. Dynamite dmg? Broken. Coach gun? Counters doomfist. Her shots are easier to hit than mcree because her fire rate is perfect enough to get used to in a snap of a finger and you have ads(I think aiming down gives you something mentally to make you play better, just feels more right rather than cree). Only real counter I see to a good Ashe is sombra. Hack, strafe/crouch, and shoot.
@@joemamaisobama5788 sombra is not that bad as you can easily runaway from her if she hacks you (works best if you're in high ground and your team is right beneath you or somewhere close). If she just starts shooting you when you were full HP just set her on fire and she'll usually leave, if not finish her off with hip fire. Genji is a lot harder IMO since he has double jump, deflect, dash, I think it's very situational with him and more like a skill duel. A lot of people dont mention this but a full hp hammond is also pretty hard to deal with and he can easily follow you but then again if you go back to your team you should be fine. Winston is usually not a threat personally DVa is not that bad but maybe it's because I'm in gold and many DVas dont use DM properly so you can coach gun and get away . Tracer is another really annoying one but 9/10 are predictable so just use muscle memory and intuition lol the hardest counters are widow and hanzo for sure .
Literally started playing with Ashe about a week ago and have won 99% of games even when the enemy team was nearly destroying mine. Long as you hit over 50% of your shots you get consistent ult charge, but I really needed this!

I recently got this game and instantly gravitated towards ashe because of the airshotting (i used to play tf2 and played a lot of solider and demoman) and im glad i did because this is the most fun ive had in a while playing a first person shooter
just throwing this out here.. if you really want a pocket, hit your shots. if you know you can't hit your shots enough to turn fights, don't KEEP on asking a random mercy to pocket you. a mercy will always pocket an ashe the first few seconds of the fight; if they don't see those hitmarkers tick at all, you're not getting your pocket but you're probably still going to be the number one db priority.
To me the hard part has been finding Mercy players willing to pocket me, one guy even straight said to me he wouldn't be healing me and would just focus on keeping alive the tanks and to get myself a health pack. On the other hand when I get a competent Mercy to heal me and damage boost me it really is like a complete different game. Also when booping someone that tries to dive you with coach gun I find it very easy to head shot them when they're suspended in air and is specially effective if a Reaper tries to teleport near you.
@King White Knight mercy isn’t supposed to heal the tanks unless she absolutely has to (aka when they’re very critical). She only has 55hps and her value comes from damage boost. It’s on the main healer to heal the tanks while mercy sees to the dps.
@@eskimopie1532 well, that may be true, but may the Mercy "mains" who stick their heal beam to a Reinhardt and don't keep it there for the remaining match, then flame the ana for having silver heals while the ana has been hard carrying with antis every fight
I have just 12 hours in this game but when I started playing Ashe I just feel and play strong lol. I guess that's because I was playing CS for 15 years and aiming is easier :D When I play for example Genji or Echo and bullets are 'delayed' (not insta shots like with gun) I have some troubles. Here's how i found my perfect sensitivity. 1. go to the training area 2. standing at the 0m line, place your cross hair on the center of the bots head, with out ADS(The first bot as soon as you walk out the door), make sure your mouse is at the center of your mouse pad 3. you should be able to move in all 4 directions till the bot is completely of the screen, and still have a bit of space to move. if you run out of space, your sensitivity is to low, and if you have a lot of space left, sensitivity is to high. My set up: In game Sensitivity for all heroes is 4.50, with a few exceptions DPI is 800 My Relative aim Sensitivy: Ana = 30 Ashe = 51 Widow = 37 I have a large mouse pad (35x15), and a TKL keyboard, which leaves me with a 15x15 in space to freely move my mouse on. I mainly aim with my arm, use my wrist for flick shots. hope this help, as much as it helped me with finding a sensitivity that works
Is there an error with the Ashe/Widow sensitivity instruction in this video? What the video instructs: If I like my Widow sensitivity and want the equal sensitivity for Ashe, I need to take the sensitivity value from Widow, multiply it by 1.35633, and input the result to the Ashe settings. Therefore, conversely, if I like my Ashe sensitivity and want to use the same on Widow, logically I need to take the Ashe sensitivity, _divide_ it by 1.35633, and put it in my Widow settings, right? Didn't quite work. My Widow was already slower than Ashe, and it only made Widow even slower. So I actually multiplied the Ashe sensitivity by 1.35633 and put the result to Widow. Now the Widow sensitivity is perfect. Therefore, conversely, the correct way of converting Widow sensitivity is to Ashe sensivitity is to _divide_, not multiply, the Widow sensitivity by 1.35633 to get Ashe sensivity.
To be honest Ashe was my first and I find her really easily and got it strait away, I find it cool how I found such a “difficult “ character so easily 🥺😊
Ashe has tech for sure that should be mastered to really get the most out of her. But I find said tech to only be representative of 15-20% of her output in a real game. It's fine to talk about theory, but if you aren't cleanly hitting targets on a regular basis, it won't matter. Mastering your accuracy will far and away improve your Ashe the fastest, and any other tech you can get a grip on is just gravy. Like, I'm glad you can hit your dynamite and coach away from close combat, but if you're not popping off in scoped accuracy and crits, I'm not sure the former matters much.
Not 100% agreed on the counters. If you can dodge Dvas barradge you can easily head shot her repeatedly with hip fire and Dmec her before she takes you out with primary. I agree with widow and Hanzo, but you have to through Genji in there, as well as a diving ball.
Is Ashe a good pick to main? I like playing her but i just want to know before dedicating time into her. Also is she skill based? Because i don’t like playing straight up op heroes because its no fun.
i honestly started maining ashe over widow because of my aim, with widow im really impatient on waiting to charge my shots, and with ashe i can shoot freely without without charging my shots, if that makes sense, i just need tips on what to do as her
If by “build” you mean suggestions for sensitivity. I’d suggest trying an e-dpi(your dpi multiplied by your In-game sens) between 3200-6000. I personally use a dpi of 800 and in game sens of 4.5 so e-dpi of 3600. It really depends on the amount of space you have for your mouse and whether you arm or wrist aim. Once you have a starting point (I’d suggest 800dpi and 5 in game) practice tracking targets and flicking in training mode to see if you’re under shooting or over shooting your target and adjust your in game sens accordingly. There’s a workshop code (KAVE5) that is a pretty decent aim trainer to test out sens. But most importantly don’t constantly change sensitivity your going to mess up your muscle memory. I've got one mercy who was like "I am not a pocket mercy" then I looked into her eyes and say : "I don't care who do you think you are, since I am your Ashe, you better do what I say and this gonna be nice and smooth! " And when she is about to argue "Do you need me to repeat myself?" Works every time for me ^_^
I think reaper is a big counter to Ashe as well. Reaper destroys bob with life steal with no effort and has abilities to avoid dynamite and to close the gap quickly. Dva is easy to handle with a few quick headshots especially if she dives alone. Let her use her rocket/matrix, coach gun away, headshot burn dva health in a couple seconds
Hello guys, thank you for the guide. I tried to change zoom sensivity as explained. I had 50 on widow > 67.8 on Ashe. But on my 21:9 ratio resolution it seems way to sensitive. Whereas if I set 50 on both it seems my crosshair travels the same way on both character. Is that normal? Tks
