Food wise I'm always good before my matches. At first it was just nerves, (first year of wrestling), I was too nervous to eat but now I'm working on dropping weight so I'm very careful with what I eat. Coming back from that, and coming back from a losing season, my nerves are gone. They are replaced with excitement. I'm ready to wrestle. I don't care who my opponent is, I'm ready to go to war. With all that I have been a lot more successful. My goals are set and I'm ready to go to accomplish those goals. I also go a watch some wrestling to really get me in the mood, and hyped for my matches.
My 6 yr old had his second meet yesterday and his 1st two matches he was an animal I had only let him eat a P3 between matches and a peice of jerky well I had to leave for thirty mins to pick up my other son and while I was gone his mama got him pizza and nachos he went out for his next match and got mollywhopped he wasn't even the same kid he looked like he needed a nap... Stay hungry guys.
First match of my first season, I ate 3 uncrustables, an orange and a water bottle after weigh ins. I got up there, actually won but after my hand was raised I went like right to the toilet
This is good, solid encouragement! I do not think coaches talk enough about the mental side of wrestling. It is very important. Thanks for providing this!
I understand what your saying when you say "tricking your mind" because when my brother says he's sick my dad tells home to say "I'm not sick" repetivly
Yeah I struggle with depression so I get in alot of sport in stuff but I have doubts about if I will make it or not . This video helps me understand more and to be lose and not beat up myself about everything
Dude you're so awesome youve been making me better since this season started. Wrestling is the only reason i dont want Christmas break to happen but it already has😭
Cayden! I would add: Wrestling is NOT war. You compete in freedom and in peace in the oldest sport in the world--taught to mankind by the bears, who because of their great size and tremendous strength, are careful not to injure each other. Favorite Polar Bear move: set up for a hip toss. Congratulations, and best wishes!
For me i always just think to myself i can go out there have a banger of a match put all my heart into it and its a 50/50 shot of me winning even if i lose its not like i did a disservice to my team, if i forfeit the other team gets 6 points if i lose they still get 6 points so why not go out there and try to win even if i dont win so what?
I always tell myself that there is no option besides victory, eat enough whole food not too much, and try to remain as in control of my environment as possible
Cayden Henschel Fr tho, u have no clue how much your mindset and these vids help and rub off on us. You helped me beat our starting 132 10-1 in an exhibition. Maybe not directly but as someone who is beginning to love the sport, your attitude is contagious
My son is just getting into wrestling in his junior year of high school. He loves it because it doesn’t depend on the team. However, what does it take to become a good wrestler? How much effort or practice each day? Should he be spending a couple of hours every day practicing moves and learning new things on the mat? Obviously. But what does it take. What is a normal routine?
I have a strong suspicion this dude either waxes his eyebrows or gets that weird string-thing done that you see at the mall. They’re too perfect. I just want to know if that’s officially part of prepping for a match to make your opponent self-conscious about his own eyebrows.
Great video. But I hate it when a dictionary uses the word (here, "affirm") in the definition of the word you want a definition for (here, "affirmation."). I like your tips. And I like FairLife milk too. We drink it for half the sugar and a lot more protein than regular milk.
Hi Cayden you said you like to listen to funny music, my recommendation is The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground it is quite funny and a good song too.
Just got second in my first tourney ever and i need this cus we had a 2 hour break in between matches and idk how to stay warm after that, anyone got tips? Thx all god bless
Just stay up and moving. I just had one and I wrestled my first match at 1:00 and my second at 7:30. It was ruff but you just gotta warm up like 20 minutes beforehand
Asides from a pre match meal or anything I feel like going into the match your mentality should matter a lot. Personally I always go in with the thought of war and that you will win at all costs. No matter how big, how muscular, or how skilled the opponent. You have to be excited to wrestle and not scared due to how your opponent looks. Always be confident in yourself, don’t get cocky and underestimate but be confident in yourself.
i wrestle 106 but i weigh around 110.. i know for most it’s not hard to lose 4 pounds but i don’t have much body fat so it’s kind of difficult for me to cut down. the next weight class at girls state is 116 and i know i’ll be so small compared to the other girls cutting to get to 116.. any tips on what i should do??
this is a boy by the way this is my mom's account but anyways cayden you showed me that losing is apart of life thank you so much for that lesson you're the goat man
I saw that fair life in your last vid, I was like 😱 😅😅 Stuff is delicious, but.. lol Excellent video Cayden, this info is great for anyone at any age in any sport or job!
I’m always nervous before every match. Even if I know I can beat the guy, I’m still nervous. But it helps me win. If I’m not nervous or way too nervous, then I lose.
Think about why you’re nervous and find a way around it, hopefully this helps😭 If you need any specific advice just tell me what makes you nervous. Either the audience, your opponent, etc.
Ur so on point. I also found what I ask about u about. To bad SC is so far out the ranking I can’t even find where we at. Lol. Great advice though. I’m sending all three of my boys to an out side club. So they can learn extra. Keep it going 🥇.
