Why would you everyday want to do that like? Why would you want to watch yourself?Open a door every day? Why would you want to be feeling your sheet every day. I could understand having times in your life that you want to be that conscience. But but you could be using your brain for so much more than turning a doorknob LO.L start a business or something. I might be missing the point like there's a time in a place for this.Maybe that's what you're saying I agree. If that's the case.
The purpose isn't to actively think about everything we do. At that point, I don't think we'd truly be living. It's more about being conscious of the things we're doing versus living mindlessly. The point of this video is to share very practical ways we can train ourselves to do that. It's like learning how to drive. At first, you're actively checking the mirrors, making sure you're staying in your lane, you're thinking about how you're going to turn, etc. but one day you master driving and it becomes effortless. The same goes for living mindfully. I hope that clears things up😊
if your focus is purely productivity, when you’re in auto pilot mode decisions become automatic and bad habits have an oportunity to invade your life, do everything with intention and focus and you’ll find it all so much more joyfull and efficient
Also, mindfulness is great for people who are head and no body. Like people who want to transition out of Maladaptive daydreaming or other dissociating states.
Thank you🙏 I struggled with this for a really long time and practicing mindfulness in everything I do has helped tremendously. I'm glad you found this helpful! Thank you for sharing with me😊
Any tips for ADHD brains? It feels like no matter how much I try I could never stop thinking. Some say that I should just stop stressing over “not thinking” and let go but that doesn't work cuz for someone who has ADHD overthinking is the default mode
@@-SimonRiley try practicing when you are in the least stressful situation. For example, right before falling asleep if you feel most peaceful in the nighttime. For me, it's easiest to get into the present moment when I'm showering, going to bed, walking in nature, and after work when I am most relaxed. Once you conquer this, you can more easily start using it in stressful situations as well. For your info, I don't have ADHD, but I've struggled with maladaptive daydreaming my whole life due to having a 'boring' life.
@@fatimasiddiqui1585 OMG yes, maladaptive day dreaming is a huge obstacle in my day-to-day life. It can be triggered by literally anything. Like if I solve a very difficult maths problem I go into my head thinking of a whole story line of this poor boy whom everybody thought was a POS goes on to become a remarkable scientist and receives the Noble Prize lol. Before I realize I've gone into overthinking mode it's too late. I will certainly give a try to whatever you said, most likely it's not gonna work but hope for the best 🤞🏻
@@fatimasiddiqui1585 did you feel staying present helped the daydreaming? I struggle with that as well and it feels impossible to do anything without imagining a different scenario in my head even unconsciously
This is so peaceful. I'm an anxious person and tend to be tense even when I'm just sitting. I'll clench my jaw, hunch my shoulders and my thoughts keep racing even though there's nowhere to be. In the end, I can't even remember what I did or ate or drank. I hope this year I am able to slow down at least a bit, and be more present. I live in a noisy city in India which seems to be always under construction. So many people rushing, rushing, rushing. I still hope I am able to find pockets of quiet. Thank you for the video!
This is one of the most helpful videos ive ever found regarding this topic. Being mindful is honestly life changing and ive never been more happy than when im taking notice of all the little things that contribute to my joy :)
I love this so much. I was always struggling to stay in the present moment and this definitely helped me. I also realized that this is quite literally one and only life we live and that time flies way too fast, so one day we will look back and regret that we didn`t enjoy it more. ``Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory`` Dr. Seuss.
I'm so happy to hear this video helped you💛 This is the same realization I had when I started practicing mindfulness. It's about enjoying every moment of life😊
I find with reading, i skim when i start thinking...I always go back + re read. I found a few years ago when i drank from a cup, I'd watch the patterns forming on top (when i run out of milk, black coffee)...It was interesting. With driving, silence is nice sometimes...Rather than autmatically picking my fave song + blasting it...And i notice i tense as well sometimes. I've been eating in peace for a few years now...Silence. It is nice. The ohone is a big one, since i got data i don't sit in silence for an hour wnymore before i do anything for the day...I want to go back to that. Convos - Since doing a counselling course has helped me with my active listening skills...Silence in a convo - I embrace it now...Used to feel the need to fill it up. In the bath, i like my ears under + breathing + listening for my heart beat.
I appreciate the depth of your tips on practicing mindfulness. The 25 suggestions provide a great range of options, making it easier to find what resonates with each individual. Looking forward to making mindfulness a more intentional part of my day!
Hello beautiful community💛 Here's a new video where I share more ways to practice mindfulness✨ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SN6U0Z-eBzY.html
Thanks Vinessa. Truly a beautiful video. I have a feeling this is gonna change my life. The number of views and likes just doesn't do justice to it. Hopefully people will eventually catch up.
Calming and beautiful video vanessae thank you so much. Just one question I had. Don't you feel overwhelmed with the amount of sensory information you are taking in constantly? Sometimes I feel that my mind is heavy and clogged when I'm deliberately trying to get rid of the autopilot and feel the details of the present. It starts to feel clogged and heavy it's a weird feeling. Did you ever feel that?
Thank you for your kind words💛 Yes, I can relate to what you're saying. What helps me is focusing on one sense at a time. For example, I'll close my eyes and simply pay attention to what I hear. Other times I'll specifically focus on the colors I see. It can seem a bit overwhelming in the beginning because it's a new way of seeing life, but it does get easier with time. Hope this helps!
1) Meditation 2) Gratitude journal 3) Yoga 4) Take difficult things bird by bird (step by step) 5) Rituals 6) Limit phone use 7) Clear clutter 8) Go outside
Sister, you are just amazing, ❤thanks for making this types of videos❤. I am new on your channel and i just loved this channel. Thank you soo much sister ❤
Great video, and it’s really cool how you consistently respond to comments even a year + later! My question is: I’m relatively new to meditation, but my biggest struggle with it is the idea that I feel like I won’t ever be able to think if I live this way. I fully acknowledge that I live way too much in the past and the future, but I also feel like it’s fun sometimes to reminisce about the past when I see something that reminds me of a fun memory, or I find it important to plan for major future events or anticipate with excitement something fun I have coming up. I assume you don’t completely cut these things out of your life 100%, so how do you live primarily in the present while still occasionally thinking about the future or the past? Do you set aside a time during the day to think about the future/past? Or do you just let it happen sometimes when those things come to mind, and at other times say “I need to be present right now” and ignore it?
I had this question too when I started on this mindfulness journey. What I learned is that you can remain present even when you visit a memory of the past or plan for something in the future. The key is to not get lost in your thoughts about the past or future because when we start worrying, obsessing, ruminating, etc. we're no longer present. I hope this makes sense, but if not, here's a wonderful resource I think you'll find very helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--XduHV0Lo54.htmlsi=MnkpFkD8_mGrrH0R
Great video... thank you. I love animals..is that your cat? I love orange tabbies. I had 5 of them..unfortunately, my last 2 beloveds passed away 2 years ago..now a black cat. She found me. Love her.I learn so much from animals.
I'm glad you enjoyed :) I have a recent video on mindfulness you can check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SN6U0Z-eBzY.html
I needed this video. I have been experiencing multiple panic attacks in the past few weeks and your video is the first I watched to practice mindfulness
I'm so happy this video found you🙏 I know what it's like to have panic attacks. Living in the present moment has been the best medicine for me. You've got this💛
Helpful but i have a question, how can i practice mindfulness while doing mental activities like learning, understanding. It makes very difficult to understand or solve (eg. Maths problems) and be mindful at the same time. Please help ❤
Mindfulness is focused attention. When you're focusing on the task at hand, you're being mindful. In this example, you're attention would be on solving the math problem. I hope this helps💛
@@iamvanessae Thnx, I also thought like that because whenever i tried to being aware, i lost focus and vice versa. One more question, means in any focused & conscious work, are we already mindful?
Everyone always says, "be mindful. Practice mindfulness". But how? HOW?? Thank you so much for this wonderful video. Of course, we all know what the word means but it's kind of a hard concept to put into play. I really appreciate you taking the time to offer real world tips for being more mindful in daily life. I never thought to really stop and feel the texture of my moisturizer or really appreciate my tea as it steeps. You really broke it down and i do feel a bit better about trying to be more mindful while doing all those mundane tasks that we tend to take for granted. Thank you.
This brings a smile to my face😊 Mindfulness truly is about appreciating the mundane...the simple things. I'm glad you found value in the video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights💛
First of all, I admire you for raising 3 children all by yourself. I'm not a mom, but I don't have to be to know that it's a tremendous amount of work. I applaud you for that👏🏼 Practicing mindfulness can be challenging, but I encourage you to find moments throughout your day to bring your attention to the present moment...even if that's just one minute or one conscious breath. These small moments make a big difference🙌🏼
@@iamvanessae Thanks solo much for ur admiration...it's tough but we get thru like a little basketball team lol . Baby steps & Deep Breaths...Thanks so much for ur videos!!! Keep em coming xoxoxo
I just answered a very similar question in the comments and I explained that focusing on one sense at a time really helps me with that. For example, if I'm in nature I'll close my eyes and only pay attention to the sounds. Whatever activity you're doing, pick something to anchor your mind and let that be your entire focus. Let me know if this helps :)
I LOVE and am grateful for your content. I am going to re-watch this video immediately. I see the content posted 2 years ago, but the timing is PERFECT and synchronous in this moment. I am excited to subscribe and dig into the channel. Whoop. *mindfully aware of ego grabbing, tugging my presence* Excellent content! Thank you for creating. 🙏🤙✌️
i cannot express how grateful i am for you. this has changed the way of thinking for me. the way i receive things and basically the way i live my life. thank you so much 🤍
