I just bought this book and about to read. I want to thank you Tai for making that ad that is on youtube. I was on the brink of suicide not too long ago. I created a business and after a year it became so hard for me to do alone. I was constantly reading up on how to get more customers, and searching in the wrong places. I saw the ad and started watching all of these videos. The first book I read was civilization and it's discontents. This will be my second book by the great minds of our universe. I want to deeply thank you for opening my mind up to these people, it quite honestly is the reason I am alive right now. I hope that gives a small meaning to you that you do help people in this world that were on the wrong track and gave them a hint to maybe change courses for the better.

I used to think I gave up on education, however now I realize that my path has altered. Going forward I aim to improve my efficiency and effective in educating young children growing up in poverty not only here in America, but across the globe. Inside I believe all people want the same fundamental things in life in the pursuit of happiness, anything else is greed.

I gave up on being an Actor for a couple of years. Got back into it now, thanks to the 67 steps, I'm in an acting course it took persistence to get into, taking Dustin Hoffmans online acting course and extra-ing in movies in Belfast. To do more, I could take additional acting classes, or fly to America to be mentored by my favourite actor Skylar Astin. Anything could happen! Thank you so much Tai!!

Entrepreneurship is one thing that I have sort've fell off of because I quit persisting. The simple action I can take to create momentum is find my career path by taking as many tests and exploring as many organizations I can and figuring out where I wanna go with my career. I can apply for internships ( all of which I'm already doing.) I really like your videos; many people I know may not; but I think for a guy like me; I need someone who can shoot new ideas at me so I can experiment with them and you do that for me. So, thanks Tai!

It could really help me in persuading people to buy my product/service on making that decision immediately instead of putting off a week instead you could do today for that self investment for your future and potential outcome.

I wanted to do something involving modeling/fashion/creation and presentation, but I let it go every time an opportunity or idea comes in my mind because that's not the career path I'm in currently in. I don't execute the plans I have or sometimes its sad but, I don't even plan anything when the idea comes along because I inhibit myself. But I think your videos help me a lot. I am going to research fashion companies and their requirements for work, see where they are located, and contact them. I will be persistent because fashion is something I love. It is not what I'm doing in university right now, but its something I have wanted to do and have thought about for a while now, it won't stop in my head so I might as well try my heart out to be successful at it. Thank-you for your public speaking, YOU ARE GREAT AT IT. Keep the strength to continue pursuing it because you are changing lives of those who listen. Well 20% of those who listen at least as you said in your 80/20 rule in another video. But that still is something, all I can say is I want to strive to be the 20% who takes your advice to action. I will be getting into your 67 steps program once I get the money. So again thank-you and may God bless you.

I've been loving and wanting to do music since 11 years old. I wrote my first song at 11. I never had the support of the most important person in my life-my mother. She wanted me to be an accountant. So I had to do it on my own motivation. I stopped and started a lot of projects and momentum and I got nowhere but have a good foundation of knowledge and skill. I'm 42 now and still can't stop thinking of music-I still have the dream. These videos have given me courage and great principles to go ahead and live out my dream. Sometimes I feel like and old fool but I will get over it along with some accumulated fear. I would love some advice for a musician in my shoes. Thanks, Tai.

Before I turned 18, the only thing I could ever imagine myself as was an actor and a director. I wanted to make superhero movies way before they became the big thing they are now. But then my senior year happened. I think it was more out of embarrassment and shame that I suddenly switched to wanting to study how to make video games. I quickly found out that I was in over my head. I really liked it. But I continued to see video games not as a permanent career, but as a way to eventually get into film, even though I wasn't learning anything even remotely close to film making. Eventually, I suffered a mental break down and that turned into the central part of my life for the next ten years. I was removed from school and found myself in and out of mental hospitals. I didn't play video games anymore unless it was to spend time with my friends after that. Until I finally decided I was never sick, I was just lying to myself. Then, I had a new nervous breakdown, but this time, I think in the opposite direction. I had realized that everyday since I left high school, I had been thinking about movies. I had been thinking about actors and stories and following the lives of directors and cheering on comeback stories for disgraced actors. I had been paying close attention to the motivations behind certain scenes, the philosophical meanings behind certain story elements. I had been studying the monomyth to extreme detail to make sure I understood it every bit as much as Joseph Campbell, and I'm still not done with that particular project, but I understand it more than everyone but Joseph Campbell and MAYBE George Lucas. I think one day I woke and realized it wasn't enough to live vicariously anymore. It wasn't enough to be some crazy nobody. Now, I'm just angry. At myself. At the world. At my parents, my friends. I've burned all of my bridges, and I think, good riddance! Those were people who were more comfortable with me being crazy than just having been confused this whole time. I don't even know where to begin to make up for the past ten years of not being an actor or a director. All I know is I don't actually like video games.

I gave up on becoming a professional goalkeeper in soccer. When I was 13 I played in one of the best soccer teams in Germany. I chose not to pursue this dream because it was taking to much of my time during the week so I had little time to study for school and homework. This irritated me because I am academically pretty good and I had fun at school. Something I think about a lot because I could've made pro in the US, because soccer in Germany is more developed than in the states. However, I didn't give up completely and kept playing at a high level and now I'm using my knowledge and love for the game to become a great coach and maybe make it in the states at a college.

i actually can't remember. im 21 now and i feel like most of the things ive always wanted to do, im doing now. although i have major doubt at times if i can actually excel in these things which bring me alive. things like: - building my skills in reading and speaking, being able to express myself clearly to others. - knowledge and understanding, being able to constantly be mindful of my day to day surroundings i live in. to become more and more aware of the how we are and the things i see that are wrong. discovering the ways of how not to live my life. -skating, freedom of being in the present in the moment. consistently skating everywhere i go and building my willingness to risk. my body movements are flowing and moving thoughtlessly. - drawing, translate what i see into my notebooks. expressing my vision to paper. - being physically active, actually using my body through movement - like bruce lee said "honestly expressing yourself". --- the only one that im not doing is playing piano or violin, however, for the past couple of weeks ive been visualising playing the piano (sidenote: i feel that when i start university again, this will be the right time to slot this into my day task schedule). during christmas of 2015 i got given a piano so this goal is going to happen! i unintentionally without concious thought, am doing all that i want. the problem, well, it feels like a problem is again, how i havent excelled in any of these activities. one thing i want to mention is that i have been persistent in spending time everyday to stop and think about where my final destination is and which path i want to take. ive been working two jobs of 54 hour weeks during my university summer break for the past 1.5 month and all i've been thinking and working towards in my free time has been towards everything i now and ever wanted in life. i dont ever comment much on youtube videos but this build up of these past six weeks, reading everyday, working hard hours and building my knowledge and listening and understanding about my failures have urged me to write these thoughts down. right now, i wont focus on what something ive always wanted to do in life and try to kindle make magic. but i will focus all my energy on being persistent. continue to gaining more momentum that ive ever experienced in my life. as a end result, i hope that the loved ones in my life would have seen that i had that inner spark in my eyes that you mentioned and end up being a wise old crack that will tell countless stories of this life adventure of mine.

Mine would be writing. Ever since I was in junior high, I had this dream of being a successful author and writing a lot of books. I used to write everyday until I graduated high school, then the dream went dead. Then some family problems happened and that really killed the inspiration. What I can do NOW is to write a page every day, it could be from a writing prompt to prepare inspiration to finish one of my books, or just hit it hard and actually WRITE the damn book, lol.

I wanted to be an author. But it's one of my born weaknesses. I'm bot using that as an excuse, more as discovering my weaknesses. When you're not too good with something, you loose passion and interest. I don't like reading too much right now either, but you've inspired me to read, that's why I'll try to start reading these types of books. What is it that I can't go a day without thinking? It's probably something I'm not aware of. I have to be more aware of my thoughts every day.

Hey Tai love the videos man !! I was watching another one before this that was talking about how advertising keeps people stupid and these companies rich. You reaffirmed what I have been saying for years man. During this last week I looked at MSN's home page online. On the top stories there was not one mention of the congressional nuclear talks yet there was worthless information on trivial things i.e. food recipes or the cutest puppy sleeping. I'm tired of working the grind to make other companies rich while I get the minimal amount to be poor every two weeks and borrow money just to get groceries. I am extremely motivated to change my life and create something new for my family. I would love to have a meeting with you man to get some expert advice to change things around. Thanks for taking the time to read my piece. Take care thanks for the videos bro.

Loved this vid - I'd stopped pursuing my ambition of a record deal and opening a martial arts studio after a few botched auditions and quitting as a career TKD instructor in my early 20s. Got married about 5 years ago in my late 20s and started working the 9-5 scene, and finally had the means to complete my songs last year after I got laid off my IT sales job. Not that I have to get a record deal but I'm consistently chipping away at the block and can see myself as a successful songwriter/producer, not necessarily a touring musician. I have also been asked to partner at a TKD school, and instead of just teaching or being another business owner in a very saturated market, I'd like to approach it as a consultant and see where I can help pick up lost revenue and web presence for other TKD schools in the area. I'm working a 9-5 in federal tech sales which I enjoy, and we have a 6-month old baby so i'm more motivated than ever. Now that I'm finally ready to open my ears and listen, I'm more teachable and curious, and it's been paying off. Tai, you da man, thanks for the inspiration!!

Thanks for the video, very interesting and useful stuff. One correction if I may about Churchill. His military meddling was mostly negative in WW2. He was opposed to the D-Day landings in France and wanted to persist with the Italy campaign; the German's soft underbelly which turned out to be a tough old gut ! He was so haunted by the Gallipoli campaign that he feared the same outcome during the D-Day landings.

1. I haven't really given up on the dream, more so I've put it to the side for now in pursuit of other goals. That I think will be more effective at creating the world I wish to see. As usual with you though, you nailed it. President of the United States of America. 2. Keep pushing the snowball forward. As well as trying to get other people interested in helping me push it forward along the way. ;) "For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding...." -JFK I've never really been fond of the word conspiracy, people usually associate it with guys on the corner holding cardboard signs. Though weather one likes him or not? I think it's one of the most powerful and personally meaningful quotes I've come across. As for feedback? In an indirect since you're already helping push, thank you for that.

I don't know if your read these comments Tai especially now that it's 2015, and this comment isn't suppose to insult you or to start an argument about what's the best supper power is but if I could choose my super power it would be the ability to slow down time by expanding a second into what feels like an hour and here's the top five reasons why 1st. it will enable you to read books within a matter of seconds 2nd. it will enable you to process information faster than anyone alive 3rd. it will enable you to finish projects that would take a great deal of time and energy 4th. it will enable you to reflect on how the day went 5th. it will enable you to take the time to appreciate your life (basically stop and smell the roses) and I'm sure there are more out there but wanted to make it as shot as possible now I want to reiterate again that I'm not here to insult you and in fact I think that your a great guy but I feel as if you could've expanded your mind by choosing an answer that not only encompassed both Bill Gate's and Warren Buffett's answer but also encompassing many other possibilities however then again this is just a comment and I hope that I didn't offend you in any way possible. I just want to share my opinion with you... that's all

when i was 12 i really wanted to become an actress but my dad made me figure things out so my terrible research skills led me to an agency that was a scam and my dad wasted thousands of dollars on that and it just killed my vibe

Hey Tai, I am a young adult with little experience in marketing ideas and the such. I have an idea for a new product for a company, but I don't really know how to go about bringing it to them in an appropriate manner or how to make sure I get credit for the idea. Any advice for me?

I feel smarter after this video. makes me want to pick up and read at 11:30pm. I know im smart and want to succeed but feel like i havent exercised my brain at all. I never graduated middle school nor High school. I am 29 years old and I will work extra hard to catch up and pass it on. I have a 1 year old daughter and want the best for her. I am also going to revive my dream to becoming a top tennis coach.

I didn't finish high school. I was lost and didn't know what to do with my life... Now I've read over 100 books. I've started my own business and am on the best life journey I have ever had. By the way... I'm living with my aunt who has stage 4 cancer and I'm her full-time carer (toughest thing I have ever done - especially sacrificing my income) but Tai has taught me to think about how to create a business income from home giving me an advantage of not going to an office to work... +tailopez thank you!

I wanted to find a full time job over the summer, but I stopped being persistent because I thought I was financially stable with my parents supporting me and I kept failing my interviews. Now I realized that having a job would have gained me experience and provide me with emergency income I needed in the future.

Excellent insight about persistence. I've given up on some things in life. Most recently I started an etrade account and stopped investing after a bad trade. I'm doing the research now to acquire beneficial skills as an investor. Something I probably should've done before making my first trade. I'll start playing the market again soon when I develop good techniques to analyze companies and their stock performance. Picking up this book too btw. I'm in the 67 steps as well so I hope I'll soon be able to share some success stories as some of the other commentators have on this video as well.

that's great that you are getting back into trading with more care! I myself made the same mistake a while ago. Started with just $2000 about 2 years ago with penny stocking. Followed a couple of gurus like Tim Sykes and did learn a lot and constantly changed my strategy but one year into it I made a really bad trade and lost $800 on the spot. Later kind of just gave up on it because I was losing money. However just recently I put more money into the brokerage account to trade lager cap stocks and started focusing on a bigger dream of becoming an entrepreneur in the computer science world.

I actually listened to the audiobook and Jerry Weintraub actually reads to you. I thought that is very cool because you get to hear him go through his own life. One of my favorite quotes is "Persistence - it's a cliché, but it happens to work. The person who makes it is the person who keeps going after everyone has quit." So it was definitely a good book. Thank you for the suggestion. 😊☺️
