As an art student, she is a great master teacher. When a teacher compliments your work then gives you the proper criticism you needed that leaves you questioning what you can do to change your work- it's amazing what it turns into. When you draw or craft anything, it's hard to see things off about the piece even as the artist. You need the outside view to tell you what you can do better or edit. It's amazing. It's truly magical. Being around other artist who are more skilled then you as well only drives you to do better despite how depressing it gets. Blue period really touches me mostly when talking about "talent." It really means a lot to me as I now want people to truly see my work for the effort o put in instead of the finish product saying "your so talented." I adore it so much.
I wholeheartedly agree with you man!! And best of luck to you in art school!! In your darkest moments, hopefully you will look back at Yatora for motivation/power to help you get through your challenging period. 😁
I love Blue Period for more reasons that I can count, and I think the point of a teacher or master is very true. Personally, teachers can often give you good advice, but it also takes having good friends and family that can call you out on your bs to get out of your comfort zone or repetitive nature
Yup I strongly agree with you! Having freinds and family that tell you things you don't want to hear are probably the stuff you need to hear even if it might hurt you, it will help you grow in some way.
Excellent video!! Blue Period literally changed my perception of talent. Btw, I was surprised to see that you only have a few subscribers and that it's your first video, you definitely deserve more. I'm looking forward to your next videos as I'm sure they'll be as great as this one.
Thank you for your kind comment GHALI.K!! And yea I agree with you that Blue Period changed my perception of talent to. It's crazy how Yatora says he isn't a genius or talented but I think his hard work ethic is a talent itself.
I've spent a lot of time considering the concept of talent, natural talent in particular, and I've come to the conclusion that modern society just spends way too much time thinking about it. You hear the word everywhere if you're looking for it, and I don't think its doing people any good. Think about how often you hear great achievers referred to as talented, as if saying that they were born to do great things. Not only does it greatly devalue what the vast majority of such people had to do to achieve what they did, but it also makes a statement that those perceived as untalented can't do the same, that they weren't born with what it takes. Whether they realize it or not, I think a lot of people have been creatively and motivationally stunted by that message. It is not conducive to a healthy mindset and self image. We can't easily change our biology, so why do we put such an emphasis on those inflexible characteristics of ourselves? It would make so much more sense to emphasize what we can change and how to best do it, as seen with this video. Humans are incredible learners; that's our greatest evolutionary advantage. The sky's the limit for anyone who learns to truly leverage that fact.
Aaa love this video; I started reading Blue Period in my senior year/end of 2020 and it's literally the reason I'm pursuing art now haha I love how deeply relatable yet encouraging the story is and your video totally highlights that encouragement!
So I break down a lot when I do art because I've been doing it for so long and yet I haven't seen any of the results. I watch videos, spend whole pages on specific body part. Practice anatomy and everything but nothing has come of it. So I started to feel like I can't go any further this is the best I can do. All my friends who haven't done it for as long as me or don't have the same want to be good like I have are all better at me. It hurts to see so much. It feels like no matter what I do I'm just stuck. I watched blue period because my curiosity got the better of me. And it made me feel like I can actually get better. I still feel the same way as before but a little bit lighter in knowing that I'm not the only one going through this. I'm trying and that's the only thing that keeps me together until I can look at my piece of work and be happy with it.
There is a famous quote from Arthur C Clarke that goes, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” The same can be said of any mastered skill when viewed by a layman, but instead of magic it's called talent.
Hey man, I really liked your video! I watched Blue Period but I never realized I could've learned so much from it. And man that thing about the mirror neurons and yawning is crazy, I litterally yawned myself when I saw that! Keep up the videos man, I like people who create videos about animes and teaching us something at the same time. Hopefully I get to see more!
I'm a animation student, and i have to say thanks to you for your video and moreover thanks to this manga to give me a little more motivation and answers to insconscious questions. Like as an artist or more, as an human all of us make errors and the goal of being a teacher, or a better person in front of us is more like to show us directly or indirectly how NOT make THEIR errors to become talented LIKE they. And all of that loop of "make error- being frustrated THEN receive compliment/advices or critics from teachers or better persons around us" make sense with that way of thinking. Becoming stronger or a talented person don't mean to born talented but becoming it by making errors, and like in blue period yeaaah errors are frustrating but like some say "if you were perfect and don't make errors things wouldn't be fun anymore" i believe in that... Anyway, that was a awesome video and analysis, hope to see more of your content later ! +1
Great video! The most important thing to me that I took from Blue Period is, that being talented doesn't mean someone didn't have to put in 1000s of hours in to their craft. So I stopped saying it and actually try to show appreciation for their work and effort and not their talent.
I think this might in related to the video, but when I watch your video, it reminds me of my old days when everyone around me called me genius. At that time I really believe it until I actually met with a real genius and realized that, I’m just a normal person. What made me seem like genius is because I followed steps in this video without realizing it. Thanks to this video, now I know myself even more :) (sorry for anyone who find this cringe, just want to express my feeling)
I learnt alot from thai vid. It really hits me here in the chest on the learning process. I am in my seconduear in uni, and while I have in less-than-average skill in coding, I too am seeking to be talented.
I just noticed you had under 1k subs and I’m so confused how. I’m a Comp Sci student getting into game dev and I’ve always looked at Blue Period as inspiration because I’ve tried drawing but I’m not any improving but it’s because I’m not challenging myself. In areas where I do challenge myself, it looks like I’m doing good or have a natural knack for it but I’ve just kept on pushing myself to get to that point. I hope I can push myself to achieve the goals I set for myself. Thank you!
Thank you. Really. Not feeling great lately 'cause, you know, dumb things about setting up high expectations and crazy goals, but this is at least reassuring :)
Dude! Your vid helped me get me back on my feet! After achieving a height of hype with my studies and learned a lot and a lot, it just seems so typical now. After so many years where the pandemic contributed to my downfall, I have been reignited but it was not the same as it used to. But now your vid has helped me realize what I lack! More power to you and your channel, man! Good luck!
this vid is really nice i am surprised u dont have many followers cause its very enetrtaining the way u communicate hahhaha i can tell u put alot of effort into this good work.
I really liked this video! It was fascinating to see anime and science combined I feel like it's quite unique and u were very articulate. I was very inspired by the content of the video and find yatora relatable too.
I don't believe "talent" exists, what i believe is that what seems like "real talent" is usually someone who is a fast learner. Even in art I've never truly seen someone that just started off creating masterpieces.
ayo wtf why he has such a low no of subs and such good quality video ?? Is this video your original ? idk bruh . but if its your original work then with such quality and content god will not make you wait much longer here. you will get lots of subs for sure (and now udk you believe in god or not ). after all this stuff i just want to say keep up your motivation and hardwork results are waiting for that threshold energey. take care mate i usually dont comment on vids not even on my fav youtebers so i did comment on yours means i really loved your content
I really wish I had a good ignition, I'm not saying I don't think I can obtain talent through the rest of this, but I still wish my reason for pursuing my specific art forms (game design, as well as worldbuilding) was more than "I like this, I think I'll make it"
Woah .. this is really high quality content . You just grained another subscriber xD . I like how efficiently you described all points . Blue period is literally one of my favourite anime and the reason I want to continue doing art too .
Yatora learns art so quickly because the anime pacing sucks and cut out lots of manga parts lmao. him in the manga had much more depth to his learning process
Hey killerqueen2000, yea after I made this video I had a chance to read the manga and your right. The anime does seem to cut out alot of content out from the manga. I think I'll try to compare mangas to the animes more often from now on. Also thanks for commenting!
@@fendeav0r enjoy the manga. You'll love the series even more than u already do after it. Slower pacing and more character development. Yatora has so much depth there
Hii I saw this video of yours it was an amazing explanation using the reference of blue period I would like to convert this video in to blog and would like to take your permission for doing so
talent talent talent talent! thats all you need ^^ if you dont have it you will never succeed ^^ Anime is fiction its not based in reality so using a fictional story thats HEAVELY romanticised to give the mc the "i did it" story arc. Thats not real life. real life is cruel and unfair. you either have it or ya dont!
