You bet! That's not to say you can't get accepted to a program that "isn't in your league", but it's going to be more difficult. It's about getting the most bang for your buck!

This might be a stupid question, but I decided on the PA path about a year ago but I have been working as a CNA for almost 3 years now (which I’m happy about now knowing I’ve accumulated a good number of patient care hours) but how exactly should you keep track of your hours? Did you do this by simply keeping your pay stubs from the places you worked? Also, I’m loving your channel and content! Keep posting! ☺️

Haha no I always wondered the same thing! When you fill out your CASPA application, you'll enter your work experience and it simply asks for number of weeks worked and number of hours per week and does the math for you. So, you really just need an average! No one is asking you to turn in all those paystubs (thankfully)! Also, thank you for the kind words! I'm enjoying posting for everyone!

Day with a PA nice ! If you didn’t get accepted to PA or fail out did you had a back up and use your degree ? I’m thinking of doing PA as well I love surgery PA and I had always seen myself helping the surgeon out. But I had always been afraid of not been good enough..... that nursing is what I’m considering but I never seen myself doing nursing, not that nursing is easy or what not. But I always seen myself wearing a white coat and been happy Bc I know it’s my calling and Gods calling.

PI86 plan B was to continue getting more PCE and reapply until someone accepted me man! Never a doubt in my mind I wouldn’t become a PA, because that’s what I set my mind to. Whether YOU think you can or you can’t, you’re right. God has a plan and he’ll see to it that you fulfill whatever that plan might be. 💪🙏

My science GPA is around 3.2 and I know that is low but it's low from random science classes I took years ago like such as epidemiology(which isn't even a pa school requirement but messed up my science GPA. However, once I decided on Pa school and took the pre-reqs as a post bacc, all the required science classes for pa school are above a 3.0. should I be okay?

Your post bacc classes should be more important and they’ll more so take these into consideration than the earlier courses, but call the programs your interested in and double check

Hey Braedon does it matter what university you go to for your bachelors or do you have to go to a well recognized school to increase your chance of getting into PA school?
@DaywithaPA
@DaywithaPA 5 лет назад
Hey! Nope, not at all. Your GPA matters irrespective of what school you go to. Community colleges are sometimes frowned upon, unfortunately. They’re ok if you do a handful of pre-reqs through one, but if every prereq comes from a CC, you might not be seen as competitive.

Hey!! I’m currently a junior in undergrad. When should you take the GRE? And would you recommend pursuing a minor to diversify from other students?
@melanieb0602
@melanieb0602 3 года назад
Hey Darla! Im currently a 4th year in undergrad! If you want to start pa school after graduating undergrad, I would say to take the GRE anytime before the cycle opens in which you are applying for. The cycle opens at the end of April each year. The cycle that opens this year would be for students starting next year depending on the program since programs start from as early as January to July or later. As a junior, if you want to go to pa school right after undergrad, I would imagine to select school that start more towards the summer since you’d still be in undergrad for those programs that start in the beginning of the year. It truly depends on the program so doing research helps A LOT. I would recommend to make some sort of excel spreadsheet to compile a list of the schools you’d like to go to and their requirements and averages. As for minor, if it’s a minor you are truly passionate about and can strengthen your application, I would say go for it. Hope that helps and made sense lol!
@DaywithaPA

Minor doesn’t really matter, take the GRE 4-6 months before your application cycle opens in the event you need to retake it

What is patient care hours and how do I get them?
@DaywithaPA
@DaywithaPA 4 года назад
Patient care hours are those that you receive working in healthcare. The best form are those that are considered direct patient care and compensated. Jobs such as a CNA, EMT, phlebotomist, nurse, etc.

Day with a PA I’m a junior in undergrad and have volunteered at clinics. I want to look into starting patience contact hours but not sure where to find certifications or trainings to become an emt or CNA. I’m a little worried bc of covid-19 and all for gaining hours in shadowing too. Any advice?!
