love this! I started bringing my lunches to work in big mason jars and it's fabulous! I always get comments on it how appealing it looks in the jar versus in your average plastic container. The big plus about using mason jars for me is, 0 leakage! I messed up my bag quite few times whenever I was using plastic containers. Now with the mason jars, nothing! I was also a bit concerned about breakage but people bum into me all the time on the tube and nothing. It's amazing! Thank you for sharing your zero waste uni tips! I really enjoyed it :) .. and those small containers containing nuts .. sooo cuuuute!!! :)
You can also get little sample jars... like I had a little sample jar of jam and you clean it when it's done and it works perfect for sauces and dips they're usually about 3-4 cm in diameter and about the same in height...
As always a very inspiring and nice video, I really love your zero waste videos and am currently putting more effort in avoiding trash as well. I like the idea of making infused water on the spot, never thought about that but it's actually really cool :) Keep up the great work :)
How does your freezer look like? Do you store anything in it, how do you store it? Do you buy any frozen poducts from the supermarket? You have a great channel!
I like the idea of the plastic free information, I am just trying to reduce waste overall so it does not make sense to pay a water bill and not just have water at home. Have a big one to go and work has ice and water and than back home and the cycle continues so there is always a form of clean and filtered water....our water is safe to drink from the sinks not everyone has that...
i drink water out of an old mayonnaise jar (that i washed really well haha) cos once you take the lid off it's just like drinking out of a normal glass ... if that makes sense. it's almost 1 litre so it's actually so heavy to cart around though :)

What is wrong with permanent plastic made from a non toxic plastic? It is transparent and you can see the contents inside. And lightweight. Metal is OK if you like it but glass smashes easily.
+lemsip Plastic is oil based and when it breaks/stops being useful it is very likely that it will not be recycled. However, steel and metal will be reused over and over again :) Glass will also be reused and if it is on you bag and you take good care of it it will not easily break :)
Gittemary Johansen IME glass has to be well wrapped and when I buy food in jars and bottles I have to be careful to wrap it and carry my bags carefully home. It's much nicer to drink from than plastic but I will not take the risk of a smashed glass bottle. Stainless steel is fine. Aluminium is not.
I've had so many incidents where my plastic lunch box has leaked and my books or what ever was in my bag (pajamas once) have ended up soggy and smelling of food. Think I'll start using a jar instead. Do your metal boxes leak? :) Love you hair!
At my uni we have a micro wave and oven that everyone can use. When I bring a dish I know want to heat up, I bring it in a masjon jar. Take the lid off and put it in the micro wave :)
