@@its_taps i know, I’m doing this to my 05 g35x but I’m tryna find a way to possibly make more power without boost Just because I want to see if it’s possible
He’s gotten monetized recently and already revealed what his first project car is. Used to watch this guy in my down time because of the funny car guy tropes he would talk about. Then I found myself watching this dude damn beat every damn day especially when he talks about building more “everyday” cards that the average Joe can afford like this video for example (costs aside)
& the #1 mod you should do before any of these if you drive hard? Oil catch can. Then get a new waterpump & Gallery gasket installed while you're at it, if you haven't had them done yet.....At that point, you have a *solid* vehicle that's pretty quick, & will last another 150k-200k miles. (2008 G35xS owner, daily driving it still.)
A lot of this stuff isn’t needed like a standalone ECU, built rear. Auto trans for sure need a built trans but for Manual u can get away with a stock trans especially if it’s a cd009. And to beat a stock hellcat ur gonna need bigger fueling then 800cc injectors and a 340 pump for sure. If u want 700 ur gonna need 1300cc injectors and a dual pump setup
It depends on the power goal I made 500 whp on stock ecu but we started looking for more power. My tuner strongly suggested I go standalone for reliability. Like I said before the stock ecu doesn't do well with speed density tunes aka map tunes. You are right you can make good power with less money but the goal is for it last more than a year and have the ability to enjoy the car without the worry of it blowing up. Lastly your not going to beat a stock hellcat making low 500whp with a de
450/500 with a little bit of weight reduction should be more than enough to beat a hellcat 60-130, def not gonna need cams built rear end or standalone
@@jvstnn2557 stock cams and boost(super charger or single/twin turbo)with mild port matching, stock ecu, single fuel pump(340lph should do) with some stock 550cc GTR injectors should easily get you to the goal you mentioned. Throw cams in and make the power at a lower PSI. If manual, upgrade the clutch and flywheel. If auto, 450whp will last for a little while with fresh fluid trans cooler and a good tune(it uses load/expected torque for line pressure iirc). Not saying it would last long term but likely long enough to take a hellcat. If you have at least a VLSD no need in replacing it right away but would for sure put it on the list. Cams aren't really needed unless you want to rev higher and go above ~500whp without ridiculous boost pressure but at that point head flow starts to be a limiting factor(on a DE or DE-R,not so much on HR) so you would be best off porting while replacing cams which btw makes a noticeable power difference in the mid/upper range even NA. Port match the collector and lower half of manifold to the heads for a little extra power. I didn't notice a drastic difference when porting the throttle body inlet on the manifold, not sure it is really a bottle neck. Source: owner on a g35 that's twin turbo. Did a lot of work in stages. Since I have a family of 6 I don't have thousands laying around just to put into my toy.
LMAO you had me on floor...... Booby and Whitney Houston high... ok now im back in my seat..... 04 sedan here with Stillen super charger with 45K of 66K miles. Car still runs like a champ, very reliable, no issues beating beamers 3 series like eating girl scout cookies.
$5000 g35 +$10000 in parts beating hellcats that, as far as I'm seeing, range from 20k to 50k and beyond. Is it a tremendous amount of work, time, and money? Yes, but there is pride in that. Built vs bought in a nutshell
@@myleslestet2261 I think that nasty sound has to do with hot side piping correct me if I'm wrong. But Nitish21 found a way to get the amazing motordyne sound with a BP kit
@@nnadi_nexus depends on the build but unless you forge internals they tend to be unreliable because they aren’t built to handle maxed out power. still probably the best all around platform for high power on the cheap though.
@@nnadi_nexus you literally just need to upgrade internals... any stock engine you add boost to is gonna be unreliable unless it has upgraded internals. Vq engines are actually one of the better engines to boost. Look up nitish21 he is running 1000hp on an upgraded de
@@Yarlettuce Definitely one of the better built VQs out there. Nitish's is the 03-04 VQ as well, they got a bit more reliable in 05-06 if you had the 6MT. Or if you bought the 07-08 350z you got the HR which is arguably the best VQ35.
@@KCunknwn cant believe another kameron is friendly firing me. And no vq37 have forged crank and stronger internals. All you need a fuel pump, injectors, and a turbo kit to make 600whp on e85. Its not that hard to research this. All this would be like 30k including the car. Thats half the price of a hellcat
@@killakam123321 vq35de and hr both come with forged counter weighted crankshafts that’s why I asked the question these were powers mods with different rods he didn’t touch the crank

I have a 07 g35 coupe with sport package that’s a DE. It’s so hard to get side skirt/ bumper replacements because its a little different from 03-06 models. Aside from that issue, I drive it like a tank. One owner at 270k miles 😅
Ive got an 04 g35 X. Bouth it with like 150 thousand it currently sit at a little over 207 thousand and still love this car plenty of power and get up and go but when things break it is fairly expensive but I love my car I feel only a manual transmission would make me happier.
I think yours is not DE rather the RevUp. VQ35DE, then VQ35RevUp and then VQ35HR and then finally the VQ37VHR. Thats the order of the engines, missing a few like VQ40, VQ30DETT, VQ25HR, etc.
For the same price you can get a 07-08 g35 sedan that came with the VQ35HR. Same engine but to save the details it’s essentially more refined and higher output. Interior quality is better too.
As an owner of a g and a z and vq enthusiast to make this horsepower half of the stuff that you mentioned is unnecessary the timing chain is unnecessary valve springs and retainers are unnecessary a higher cam does help the duration on the top end to take less load off the bottom in but the car doesn't require half of the things you mentioned to make more power the blocks are strong enough it's the rods in the Pistons that are weak and De's because they're cast aluminum, you will need a better fuel pump and injectors but you also have to run that on the right fuel to make the power anyways or else this is going to be prone to detonation in the first place
I like your other videos but this was poorly done. Coming from a kid who had an 06 Altima with a VQ35DE who had way too big dreams, I know all too well why the bottom end can only handle so much, and why the timing chain stretches over time, and some of the other issues on why it’s not too good for boost. You kinda just said “oh the engine is old so yeah it’s got that problem” you didn’t really go over *why* it has that specific problem. You even took the original automatic transmission not being able to handle 400whp straight from the websites description which is trying to *sell you* their transmission that they claim is better. You also didn’t go over the centrifugal supercharger W2A or A2A. A2A being better and making more horsepower vs the W2A which gets heat soaked. In fact it was completely looked over.
Ayy finally my guy showed love to the jdm market !! Love your videos despite not driving muscle cars so this was dope to see … my guy said Bobby and Whitney high lmao that’s a fact boosting my vq37 as we speak
I saw one of these get walked by a 2018 Honda Accord last night. Blew my mind. You could hear the Infinity from a mile away. The Honda was so quiet I assumed it’s stock.
@@RudebwoyRacing 2.5 vs a 3.7 ? What 😂😂 & I have a G37 I gap Altimas, Maximas, & Accords . I had a R/T Charger trying to chase me on the expressway he couldn’t even hawk me down 😂

Dont do none of this just get hr engine swap it a single turbo kits e85 and admin / saul tune and gap hellcats withs 500wheel without none of this extra stuff 😂
You can just buy the 35HR verison and start from there, Seen them make 300+ Rwhp with just bolts and camshafts without the VVEL bullshit My VQ37VHR barely makes 330rwhp with ported intake manifolds and test pipes and manzo Exhaust
Forget the G35, G37 is where it’s at. Oil problems are gone just do a gally and valve cover gasket job. Engine and trans can handle ~600hp and 1000hp respectfully. Seen one run 700hp just boosted. The VQ37 is just a better engine and the trans can take anything you throw at it. G37X N/A I’ve seen beat scats, and stock it’ll beat R/T’s and 300C’s, haven’t seen it done but it’ll keep up with a 5.0
I hope you’re talking about the 6MTs in regard to the trans because the 7ATs are quite fragile when it comes to large torque spikes (it’s mainly a problem with turbos, with superchargers it isn’t as prominent since power is delivered more linearly). Even Level 10 built transmissions are prone to breaking under heavy torque
Engines better but 35 body is much lighter and more nimble then the 37 slap the 37hr in a 35 body and it'll walk a g37 shit even A hr swap35 will walk a 37 .

I have a Infiniti m37 and all the shit he just named is already at about 20k and now you need labor. This will be an expensive project to whoever plans on doing it
All of this is false information. I know from experience that all you need to do is apply 5% tint to your windows and that will add 0 horsepower and now youll be the slowest on the track. Slow boys up! 😈😈
