found out about the weird trick on neo bowser city also about a week ago. fell off and got boosted up a little and was intrigued, after falling off a few more times I tricked.
Great advice. I'm not a pro, but with practice, I cleared most of this in a single night before taking a break. Of course, I had to use mushrooms to stand a chance. Much appreciated videos!

Thank you so much for these videos. I've had Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for 4 years and thoughts of doing Time Trials kept putting me off. Not only have you shown me one of the best builds for beating the staff ghosts, but my overall performance with using bikes has improved.
I’ve been following your guide on all the cups and finally managed to beat them all thanks to you! Extremely helpful videos and I’m very thankful for your tips. For me the hardest ones were ribbon road, wario stadium, big blue and cheese land.
I was awful at the staff ghost time trials! I never thought that I would beat one, much less all of the 150cc runs. After watching your video, I beat all of them over the course of only 2 nights! I can't thank you enough for showing me how to make these easy! Would 100% recommend these to any player struggling with time trials :D
Thank you for these very helpful videos! 👍🏻 I'm a complete novice (have only had the switch for a few weeks and have never played Super Mario in my life before) I've ridden a few tracks around 50 times and just couldn't beat the developer. Especially Browser Fortress, Vulcan Rumble, Cloud City and a few more. Saw your videos and after two or three attempts I made it immediately. I'm still eight legs short, but I'm in good spirits now. Hey dude i seriously can’t thank you enough for these videos about beating all the Staff Ghosts, you’re too good at this game and i will probably never be a pro like you but still i managed to beat all the Staff Ghosts in these last 4 cups a couple of minutes ago and finally i unlocked the gold tires, thank you soo much man. 😁❤️ Now i only need to unlock the Gold Glider and i'm completely done with this game until the DLC comes out and i'm not gonna attempt on beating all the Staff Ghosts on 200cc as well since it’s not worth it and you don’t get anything at all.
I had trouble with super bell subway on the cup races, so I got really good at neo bowser city that I was 7 seconds better than the staff ghost. I also beat the subway in one try thanks to you
on yoshi circuit, i used the same wheels and glider, but switched to inkling boy in mr scooty. after probably 7-8 resets each on the 16/9 and 17/7 mini turbo/ground speed chart, i managed to get it second try with 18/5
If you brie careful on cheese land, you should have a gouda time. Dodge the chain chomp unless you want it to rip you limb from limburger. Cheddar to stay away from it as it's nacho friend.
Man you make it all seem so simple !! High Rule and Ribbon Road took me about 1 hour combined to beat !! Haha seems a little suspicious though …. All the Japanese Developers times seem insanely hard to beat. “Nintendo Hard” is definitely still a thing !!
I struggled A LOT when I first got the game so every time I hear someone go "Man the staff ghosts are really easy why would anyone need a video like this" it's like... well cause this is a video that I wish *I* could have watched when I was learning the game lol
@@Bayesic definitely helped a lot so Ty ! And I was a little frustrated because you actually need to quit out of time trail mode in order to receive the gold tires apparently?? I checked each track’s 3x over to make sure I had them complete until realizing I just had to exit to the main menu hahaha
most of these have worked but im just doing this now and some of the ghosts have been updated like they use mushrooms and stuff off the line and in weird spots so this hasnt been 100% accurate but still great help
i somehow accidentally took the shortcut on wario gold mine on lap 3 and still won, with a time of 2:20.088, which i am just now realizing has only double numbers in it. there’s 2 2s, 2 0s, and 2 8s
Nah bike's really not that important. I just chose this setup cause it's a pretty good one and you start the game with it. But you've got a lot of freedom to choose what you want to use to beat the ghosts
@@Bayesic Im doing this with the default cart now and rosalina and so many of the slides you do just arent doable with my cart so id need an entirely different sliding route
@@matt566 standard kart really isn’t that much worse than the bike. If you’ve got other stuff going on like using a baby instead of waluigi, or slicks instead of rollers, that could also be an issue, but you should be able to take right lines regardless of your build
@@Bayesic i probably just blow. beating staff on the cloud level took me like 60 tries because it felt like ridiculously hard to land the skip at the end using the leaves with rosalina & standard kart
Yeah I should have mentioned this in the intro. Since this is supposed to be a more beginner / casual friendly guide I only use parts that you have access to at the start of the game (i.e no wiggler or biddybuggy)
