I just tested your advice. SOOOOOOOO SWEET! I won and this was the first time I participated in an Ebay auction, and I was bidding against 60 bidders where 4 were agressive with Ebay proxy working for them. I tacked on $100.00 to the top bid in the last 2 minutes which would be inline with that units Market Value, and still saved $50.00+ above the other top offer.

No. It would not have cost him a penny less. The highest bidder wins, and you always pay only what someone else was willing to pay. I have never once lost items to snipers, but they have made me pay more then I would have if they didn't stick their stupid noses in. Because everyone is aware of snipers, they always raise the price a little before the end of the auction, so snipers have to either pay more then they were expecting, or they lose.
