Little tip for the transition at 50% the eye attacks are always the same pattern and can easily be learned to dodge. The following needlestorm doesn't even need to be dodged. You can simply run to the left and rigth and the needles will miss you. For the spear hit after the needles u have to wait little bit after the last needle to dodge and for the red laser u have to wait a bit longer when he does the needle attack for a second time.
Another great tip is to use the drink that gives Qi back on use and then the relic that increases the hp gained from how many soaks are applied. Doing this you can get 3 tornadoes in one fight.
Thank you, thank you, thank you......took about 10 tries, but I finally got him. I had to use the pluck in phase one. Wasn't expecting the epic ending. You don't need the Golden set to get the tornado more than once per fight.
Just killed him bud! After possibly 2 hours of trying. Used the Qi gourd, and I think the fan thing at the start for sure, then maybe once more mid game somewhere. Prior to that the 2 hours of practice + watching tape of his moves helped me to learn his dodge patterns better already. You needn't waste invisibility while in the air, you can use the whirling wind to gain focus and not take damage from his knives/sparks and then just dodge at the end when he does the big red flashes. I also ended up utilizing my mana for freezing him and then using the Head smash bonk attack, I believe that's super duper useful to unload as much damage on him as possible in the short windows he provides. He'll be a fun battle in NG+ for sure, by then I'd have mastered dodging hopefully and also a lot of his movesets. Also so SO happy I got his end game weapon, I have been using the other spear for like 50% of my playthrough, something about the spear is just so SO much more enjoyable and satisfying. Glad it was equally as strong as the end game staff. Thank you again for the tips, definitely wanted a no cheese no OP build method of getting through him and this video really helped!
I know a lot of people use the “big head slam” for their transformation but in this fight it helps a ton. If you can immobilize during a stagger and smash him with r that it’s around 2.5 k damage if it’s leveled up.. Also use the gourd that replenishes QI on use so you can use your tornado and head smash more often. Definitely a great fight but I’d say the gourd, tornado, and head smash are definitely important. Also using cloud step for charged heavies instead of using it for running from his air attack is important. When he goes up into the air to start shooting spears just sprint in one large circle around the map. Then dodge his last red attack…. Also save your transformation for the end or if you think your going to die Hoped this helped someone..
@@allenryan6071 solid tips bro I used head bonk during immobilize during stagger and it did massive damage! That and the suggested qi gourd. Dunno why but somehow that gourd filled up more than like 60% of my health bar somehow and I've been missing that for a WHILE now.
final 10% is the problem for me. I try to use up less skill to get to the end . Yellow Loong transformation is better than monkey .Loong really hammer him hard and stays up longer.
I just beat this dude after trying the cheese method that did not work. However you can beat on dude quite a bit whenever you use the fan. I used the gourd brew that gives you qi back with every use. Other than that it was just a matter of learning his moveset. you just have to keep from getting on tilt from him kicking your ass so many times. He is actually not all that hard to dodge once you get his rhythm . You can spin deflect the little spears that you suggested cloud stroking to avoid. Use the yellow long summon. You're welcome for that last bit. This was such a cool boss fight.
I have a theory. You know when the player dies, we become a stand of hair. Now I the movie the money king of Jackie chan and jet li, before wukong turned to stone. He pushed his staff and secretly placed a strand of hair as his duplicate. What if, we are a strand of Sun Wukong hair and when we gather all 6 relics. We no longer remain a strand of hair but become above and original Sun Wukong
Loved loved loved your guide for the Great Sage's Empty Shell, it helped me so much, so really happy that this came out just in time for me to reach this fight!!~
@@omarness2928 no maybe you didn't upgrade the talent tree enough that the stamina bar ran out or did the timing wrong I just finished my ng+ run today (killed erlang) and it still works
Thanks so much! I watched like 10+ guides on youtube about cheesing him and always failed, but THIS WORKED! I got him down after like 3-4 tries with this strat! I just used the gourd that gives qi after every use so i had the fan more available :)
Best how to beat erlang video made.i was using the rock solid spell cus it uses less mana and it would cancel out any of erlangs axe moves besides the big ass one.also lowering his shield
The best way to beat him is trying over and over and being able to dodge well. Try spell binder build with bull face and rest chapter 6 end gear with focus curios and max defence. Hit and dodge and get it to then unleash max level for stance attack. Only eay to beat him is persistence and eventually his moveset with be 2nd nature.
Using the ball spirit and the Azure Dust Transformation will also help break his stance, as will using Pluck of Many. If you use all of those and the fan, it should be pretty easy.
The Stoneman transformation is basically another fan vs him. I assume there's something lore wise about it? He can't seem to damage it much and de transform it like the others!
Well he mentions something about returning to your roots, and stuff, probably implying the Stone Monkey form of Wukong. More like a tease I assume, he refuses to fight something as sluggish and boring as a stone version of you.
This boss is the very thing I despise in all my experiences of souls games before. He CONSTANTLY does this grab on me whenever and wherever I try to try one single heavy in his attack. He always manages to dodge out of them anyway even mid attack or when im in cloud step and hes mid attack. This ffing shii-fest boss loves to jump ontop of me so he can do his worst heavies when the camera is not on him because of it, he even manages to ignore the tornado vessel at times and attack through it. Seriously. Nothing I do has worked. Nothing. Tried every cheese I could and he ignored every single one or just outrights escapes any of them. His shield doesnt come back every phase. It comes back EVERY few seconds. And even replenishes. This is unfair. Broken shell was far easier than him. And much more fair. Yes, I said it.
thank you thank you, this vid helped very much. wasn’t able to do 100% of what you did but got the main gist of it. for the projectile swords aoe in phase 2 and 3, you can use your staff to deflect all of em giving you a better shot at dodging the red lighting, if you wanna play it safer, deflect all of em and use the cloud step ability to dodge away from the red lighting. everything else is on you and how you do it. a great help though
Idk y everytime i look up a guide on a boss for this damn game everyone else's boss is always extremely less aggressive than mines or mines is always spamming random shit that he isnt supposed to be able to do yet in phase 1 and 2
Wish I could do the fun kaiju fight after this but elang had to much health we do too little damage with the Wukong set on they need to reduce that armour bar shits too much can’t access the part of the game I wanted to play most of all and wasted time beating the final boss and the loongs for nothing L game
Smh This fight was Soo fkn ridiculously difficult for no reason. Took me a good 4 hours and died like 80 times but I eventually bested him. I'm still riding that high, holy
Lucky. I honestly have no idea how yall are beating this guy. Me and my buddy are on hour 11 of trying to beat him(still not beatin)... it took me an hour to beat wukong (great sage). Did I download the hard version of this game or something??? F this boss and the devs who did NOT play test this f*ck
For some reason I’ve got everything exactly like you have or expect the blooming orchid soak and my celestial medicines are off even when allocating the same levels and my chill resistance is at 15 with no upgrades anyone know why?
They patched this too, u can no longer bring out the fans tornado from a distance it will stay where u select it, in ur video the tornado went towards him and u charged ur staff, can't do that now the tornado stays in the area u spawn it and u need to do it closer to him now
Graceful Orchid or the Celestial Lotus Seeds soak regenerates HP after flask use; and the final endgame staff prevents 4th focus from depleting (Jingubang lets you build up the 4th point)
This fight is literally impossible i fought him over 45 times and lost all of them i get him so close and its not enough this is the most stupid fight ever the rest of the game was fun until him
Can you plz do a video on Golden lining transformation because people never invest their points in transformation spell which literally help in boss fight.
yeah for me MF kept spamming Spells but i did cheese him we a build close to that but a little better , btw second tornado you did rush the attack , a tornado can take the whole shield and there is a build that you can do 4 tornados per fight so its 1 per phase ( no glitches included )
I died to him so many times throughout 2 hours that I couldnt enter his area anymore but could still beat him. His attacks couldn't get through becauae of the wall XD
@@brandonmcclelland4359 it was some kind of glitch. I died. I went again to fight him but was blocked by invisible wall. I rested. The erlangs health bar appeared and he started to come to the invisible wall and we fighted through it XD
I saw some people had the same glitch but they did it intentionally by fast switching vessels or spirits at the steps near the Boss arena. Then the invisible wall appeared
Sometimes these “cheese” methods sound harder to pull off then just playing the game. I found Erlang easy by using the fan, rolling ball spirit and azure transformation to break shields and cloud step to dodge sky barrages. Got him first try with the above. Failed once without.
I only got the tornado off once when I fought him and I didn't even know about any cheese strats. I beat him after many attempts by besting him in a battle of attrition thanks to the healing from Ring of Fire. I went the whole game up to this point not using Ring of Fire at all and then decided to give it a shot. Didn't realize just how much of a life saver that spell is. Any time Erland did an attack with a long wind-up I'd put down Ring of Fire and heal, saving me from needing to waste my gourd too much.
@@baileynelson4433 The heal from Ring of Fire is a life saver. Pretty much doubles how much healing I get on top of the other benefits the spell gives.
Anytime you stun him whiles hes in armor immobilize him and L2 whirl him. It breaks his armor super fast. Also yellow long summon saved me a lot with how long it last. Also gourd that recharges Qi is good for getting clutch fan relic activations.
