I have learned from this playthrough that King Ashnard actually had a second hidden heir. It's Excelblem. Only a man of Excelblem's wisdom could be Ashnard's child. Just look how hard he makes things for himself to try to win. Amazing.
Ashnard has blue hair, what other lord that is obsessed with causing as much death as humanly possible also has blue hair? I rest my case, ashnard is a descendant of the one true hero king
Yes, the friends he sent off to die for the greater good. The ones that are still living will have their time in the sequel to be "friends to be fought for."
Make sure to pay your respects to the many Partner Unit Holy Guard members who died when Tanith sent them out to constantly partake in reckless strategies.
I have to say as someone who has unfortunately played maniac mode, I am shocked at how few attempts this took, that the knife sage meme didnt punish you harder, and that you got less characters killed on purpose than I expected
yeah!!! lots of them are functionally slapped with "debilitating injury" that keeps them out of combat but lets them participate in dialogue that would be wayyyy too hard to remove them from
Ike was so done with Excelblem that he Aether'd as much as possible to protect his sister from unnecessary harm, truly best bro...to bad his boyfriends died.
honestly he feels gimmicky mechanically but his supports are actually really interesting? he's half-beorc and half-laguz, which gives him *very* interesting conversations with certain characters
I never knew Ike starting with 4 Iron Swords is a Glitch. I allways thought that it should illustrate that he wants to be super prepared on his first mission. Awesome run though
Ah, Maniac Mode. I did what my friends nicely called a “tin-man” of it when I started actually doing the ironman after Chapter 6 (I am not good at Fire Emblem). Honestly it was mostly fun, although my endgame was far more dire than yours. I had some pretty screwed units stat-wise, and a Resolve-Wrath Ike because I was convinced that consistency was smarter than luck. Instead of turtling, I did an all out push to the right, resulting in basically all of my units getting killed except for Ike. One by one they all fell, leaving Ike damn near surrounded and pretty low. Ashnard moved right into Ike’s move range, where I took out his first phase on player phase. Phase 2 Ashnard then proceeded to move first, miss, allowing Ike to finish him off during enemy phase. Probably one of my favorite experiences playing Fire Emblem, even if my finale was literally just Ike and the 6 remaining no kill units. Maniac Mode RD is, in my experience, much easier, but also proportionally much less fun
This time I decided to wait for the compilation before watching any of this, and it's kinda worth it honestly, getting the full movie experience out of this is pretty great.
She survived a while but still died late game. Nephennee absolutely carried until you stupidly forgot to heal her. Ironic how Ilyana is one of the few survivors, though I guess its not too surprising given her Shade ability makes her less likely to be targeted by enemies.
Oh wow, how did I forget that you actually did have to take two attempts at PoR because of your insane greed against the second map lmao Meaning, Boyd, Oscar, and Titania died twice in this. And Ike once. Neat!
one thing I really don't like about PoR and RD's final bosses is the immunity they have (this is worse in RD where Ike is the only one that can kill the final boss)
Eh a good deal of them are mid tier as they tend to be good no investment filler units. They lack canto and 1-2 range along with the normal shift limitations keep them down but they tend to be better then a lot of the non-Paladin Beorc units. Also Modercai smite is a staple of efficiency/LTC runs
Bruh. I completed Path of Radiance in alll difficulties. I played hard mode (Maniac) and I completed it with EVERYONE alive and i didn't lose any comrades. The top 5 of the ones who defeated enemies the most is: 1.Ike, 2. Lethe, 3. Nephenee, 4. Marcia and 5. Mia in all 3 difficulties. I did my best to make and put them on The Top 5 by using them a lot the most in all and every chapters. So yeah, i played this game a lot. I still can't believe that you lost Lethe, Nephenee, Mia and Marcia. Those are the best characters to me and there my favorites (and my waifus). And I have proof for I still have the memory card of the game and the safe data. It took me hours to complete the final chapter on the hardest difficulty. I mean I did make mistakes in the past that every time a character gets defeated, I turn off the game and start all over again and complete every chapters with every characters alive. And when I was this close of completing Maniac mode, I accidentally press the wrong button of letting Ike attack Ashnard with half of his life and Ike was defeated and game over and that made my blood boiled with rage, I just lost half of hour of progress and I was this close of completing Maniac with everyone alive. So I try again and I completed Maniac with everyone alive and without making a mistake and try to be careful of not letting a single character get defeat. The first time I completed Path of Radiance on Easy Mode, all the characters have been defeated and I had only just 5 characters remaining 😅. And I never knew that losing a character would really gone forever, for I though you would play the characters again even if they are defeated but that's not how Fire Emblem works and I just learned the hard way 😅. Because this is the very first Fire Emblem Game that I ever played. And this isn't like Pokemon, when a Pokemon gets defeated, you can play the Pokemon again that got defeated by recovering them. I though it was something like that in Fire Emblem but i was wrong, its nothing like Pokemon. From that day on, I try my best by completing the game with everyone alive. And I did the same thing with Sacred of Stones on the Gameboy Advanced.
