Honestly, you’re right. They were literally seconds away of completing their game before they died. The pound of flesh is one where the girl panicked but ended up winning last second by cutting her own arm off is one. No one in their right mind would do what the others did in the movie like it’s a carnival game, they would be busy panicking too.

I would like an actual episode of nerd explains where he tries to survive the traps of the movie....but does so on the first take. To simulate panic, just bring him to an escape room and give him a 3 minute timer

thats the point, its supposed to be a race against the clock to symbolize john's race against time, waiting for his inevitable death thats just coming quicker and quicker rach second. he wanted them to feel that fear.

I agree. That's the part I hated about this movie. That and the ending. Who survived was the absolute LAST person who deserved it, and all she has to do was kill someone ELSE, which she's already proven she's willing to do. That wasn't a real test for her. It was bullshit. This movie would have been SO much better with the arbitrary time limit not being the only reason 2 people failed, a not so obvious "twist," and someone more deserving being the final survivor. She was literally the most undeserving survivor of any of Jigsaw's games, and I'm including Hoffman in that.

While I agree on the time limit if you look at the clock in the movie they waste a minute and a half off the timer before they actually start. If they actually wasted no time they would have won with easily enough time

I've actually heard this claim before, so I went through and looked at all the failures to see if i could determine how true that is. I found that a lot of games would likely not benefit enough from just 10 more seconds. Aside from the ones we already know from Saw X, the notable games where an extra 10 seconds could pretty certainly make a difference include: the needle pit from Saw II (but let's be honest, he didn't deserve to win it as he didn't even try it), maybe the rack from saw III (tho the arms and legs were already wrecked by that point), and then some of the Saw 3D traps maybe, like the car one for sure, and maybe the fishhook one but I don't remember how close it was, and her screaming might have negated the 10 seconds anyways. Then if you want to get into Spiral, the finger trap is one for sure, and probably also the train one (tho it did not have a controlled timer to begin with) and I'm not too sure about some of the others as it's been awhile, but spiral hardly counts anyways.@@withercat1801 Edit: oh yeah and the rapist bed trap in Saw 4

I mean early on in the series I could maybe see that being a reason, but at this point I feel like it's just to much credit to give it and the people who have taken it over just want to create whatever different torture machines they can.

It’s been proven that the reason most of his subjects die is because of the time spent pointlessly screaming instead of listening to the tape and getting it over with. Understandably you would be panicking but seriously they never listen to the tape.

I think it was actually intentional that they all had 3 minutes. Remember when he called the doctor he probably had around 3 months left. Ergo they all had 3 minutes.

Not really. Most people, besides the main trap plots, he gives a minute. Hell, he gave Amanda a minute during her reverse bear trap, and that was before the events of this movie. Even the opening trap from Saw 2, the Venus Fly Trap where a guy literally had to cut out his own eye to retrieve a key, he only gave a minute for that.

Honestly, as someone with hypermobile joints (aka double jointed), that one wouldn't even be a trap for me as I can move all my fingers that far easily, and even need to if I want to pop them. Considering that way it was presented with an approximately 90 degree angle, all my fingers would have been fine, aside from probably the thumb, depending on how it would have been pulled. So I'm curious how John would have dealt with that. Would he have just let me go as I did what was needed even if it didn't hurt me at all? Or would he knock me out again and put me in something worse, which I think would show bias. Also, ngl, I would LOVE to see that happen in one of the movies. Just someone able to easily do the whole thing in like 5 seconds, no issue, and then just be like "so...what now?"

Is what would happen if the whole point of the traps wasn’t that they’re allowed to go if they beat them. Gabriela beat her trap and they wanted to get her to a hospital before bitchass Cecilia came in and decided to snap her neck.

He did though, the fake doctor/taxi driver Diego survived. He was going to let Gabriela live (Cecilia is the only reason she died) and he let Cecilia live who was the worst of them all.

Nah the easiest trap is the one to get the needle that you put your hands in only to get them caught... You could literally get the needle very easily just reaching in with one hand while preventing the blades locking on your wrist by using your other hand to keep it propped open.

Really with that trap i was surprised that the answer was exactly what John said it was. For the last trap of the movie I really expected a twist like the real answer was to sacrifice yourself for someone else so the safety hole would’ve been the real trap there.

The guy that failed had his face break out into sores/chemical burns and when he died his eyes clouded over. It was more than just KO gas

thats what i was thinking but 1. the boy wasn’t planned for, i assume he wouldve wanted him and his assistant to be in the trap, even though he didnt inform her also a major flaw wouldve been if they just waited to see the conclusion of the trap, if they waited for one of them to drown it wouldve completely ruined his plans, and since his assistant didnt know either, they probably wouldn’t have been able to overpower them if they tried to escape while they were being blood boarded

Jigsaw is a very smart and creative guy that also wants to have fun. Also, I thought Amanda was in on the gun not having working bullets ? In a previous scene, she says "I don't know about this plan [working]..." and Jigsaw insisted that it would work.

That mid-credit scene was dumb. HTF did they plan that? Did Henry specifically target John over the others in the group? John was the one that intercepted Henry at the cafe as he was leaving, what if John didn't even see him? The scammers magically got lucky or controlled variables they could never control just as absurdly as John did. 😒

@@I.____.....__...__ Judging from the fact that Cecilia had photographs of her victims labeled with their names and how much money they had, it seems like they were intentionally targeting terminally ill patients with lots of money. John was a famous civil engineer before his diagnosis and the news of him having to retire due to terminal brain cancer would probably end up in the newspapers, so he wouldn’t be too hard to find. Cecilia likely contacted Henry to seek out John, and since both John and Henry were in the same support group, they probably became close enough friends that Henry would know some of the places that John (and other targeted patients) frequented. Henry likely had a tactic of gaining the trust of the victims before telling them about the treatment. That’s a common tactic for scammers and many other groups. It’s really not as implausible as you think.

John Kramer is a pretty rich dude. You don't just hand a quarter million to some random kid.

Johns so called treatment was 250k, that’s quite alot. He was also an engineer and architect so he already has access to warehouses and abandoned properties he helped build and plan. I’m sure with his age he’s saved up plenty for retirement and could easily access buildings under his name.
