This movie is definitely about a protagonist that is the "irredeemable" type. He sacrifices everyone around him for his own personal mistakes, and he doesn't even use the time he had before that to prevent his mistakes from getting worse. I've never been happier to see a protagonist fail so miserably and lose everything. Nerd Explains bringing in actual common sense makes this so much better. Amazing video.

This is like a competition in "who can be the most incompetent" while also surviving due to Stormtrooper aim and plotarmour

I find the idea of being a random old Scottish man going for a walk in the countryside and all of the sudden I see a bunch of random doomsday preppers training to take out a bunch of French zombies, kidnappers, sea monsters and literally the devil quite amusing

With hardline, Hugo would have been able to get specialist pro by about 19 mins in, or ended the video by about 38 mins in, or could have gotten: 1. 14 UAV's 2. 9 Care packages or counter-UAV's 3. 7 Sentry Guns 4. 5 Predator Missiles or Precision airstrikes 5. 4 Harrier Strikes or Attack helicopters 6. 3 Emergency Airdrops 7. 3 Pave Lows or Stealth Bombers 8. 2 Chopper Gunners or AC-130 and finally 9. One EMP im gonna rewrite the 12 things on christmas song using this

My only addition is the fire truck scene. No way would they go first on scene with a possible explosion and no communication at the site. That is an automatic 2 alarm response with pd in route to assess initial response. Obviously a movie.

Hugo is probably one of the top 10 dumbest protagonists in cinematic history. He even tops characters that are intentionally meant to be dumb

Even in a movie full of bad decisions, there's no justifiable reason for Hugo to push his subordinate off the roof lmfao.

I actually did spend a day with my dad and older bro at a local psychiatric facility when I was a kid because my dad worked there as an orderly. We (my bro and I) played Mario Party and watched the Hobbit cartoon. It was fun, definitely more fun than when I was a patient there.

I love how he always roasts how dumb people are in these movies. It's so annoying at times.

In the end, if Hugo thought things through, he had very little reason to work with Simon. Because if Simon survives the night... What guarantee is there that his daughter will be released? It's not like a hostage exchange, Simon will just be taken out of his hands, at which point he loses all the leverage he has. What stops Simon from using his daughter as a post-release appetizer? Or the powers behind Simon from killing him and everyone he loves to silence all the possible witnesses? The guy is a deranged mass murderer, trusting him and risking everyone, including his other kids, is insanely stupid. He should have contacted the swat team and made a deal whereby they found his daughter for him. The communications being jammed is the perfect excuse since Simon can't communicate with his compatriots. It would have worked too, since the kidnappers are amateurs and so should be easy to trick.

I just wanna say that I'm super happy you're bringing this background music back! I love your content, but for me, personally, something about this background music makes it much more enjoyable than the other ones you were experimenting with

Could be because I just woke up. Could be because of my low "illogical actions" intolerance. Maybe both... Either way, I started to get a headache around the time the kids left the safety of the office and, to my surprise, the decisions didn't stay consistently stupid...they got worse! It gets so annoying seeing characters be idiotic (especially if that isn't meant to be a character trait unlike Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Patrick Star, etc) just to get the story where the writer wants it to be. All those nuisances aside, it was fun to hear Nerd just destroy Hugo. "Desperate to kill again..." was my favorite line and the zingers kept getting better. Made me chuckle. Nerd really paints Hugo as the secret third homicidal maniac. Also, Nerd, I think a better final lesson to remember is to have zero association with Hugo unless you want to die an otherwise totally preventable death.

You gotta love the way studios spend exorbitant budgets getting all these modern, badass guns for a film but then just randomly decide to equip them with $20 ACOG knockoffs. Look at Hugo's lady-friend at 24:22 holding her M4. It has an ACOG with no optic fiber, no battery tube, and a glossy red front lens refraction. There's an extremely low chance I'm wrong on this, but if I am I will happily delete this comment. Considering this is a European film, I'm guessing they just don't know the difference or can't get a hold of a real one. But the moment I see someone pointing a rifle with an airsoft knockoff optic, it really makes me feel like the person behind that glass has absolutely no clue what they're doing.
