Im a casual player but can you try soul servant send pharaonic advent to grave. Send two traps/spells to grave that being magic defense to revive pharaonic advent. either have dugares revive him, magic defense or play chaos phantasm to copy him and use itself as fodder. Then take tyrant throes and use navi to revive 2 dark magicians to lock opponent.. it aint competitive but maybe you can create or add cards that it might.. its fun to lock them and have eternal soul to revive dark magicians and link ladder to tenyi.. add in apophis to negate and have extra normal monster.. add in magical hats to create 2 normal summons for tyrant throes while sending traps like navi, magic defense etc to grave and revive dark magician and lock opponent.. its stylish and fun for content but it aint competitive 😂 add one aremasir adventure cont spell is fun too. Or shadow light magician soul to summon effect veiler to sychro summon formula and get a draw.. with magicians rod negated you can still synchro summon into junk speeder.. deck dont have much space but its nice to pull out 5 synchrons tuner and create something thinking your DM deck is done.
Match replays and breakdowns are amazing for people, like myself, coming back to the game and trying to get an edge on meta decks with our good boy DM! Another top notch video, king! ❤
Getting the thought process behind the build is huge in a video like this. Seeing the way you utilize your different lines of play both to bait out and build boards is great. Noting, this deck was pitched as going for Winda + Dragoon in your other videos (Among other things), and not once did that board get made in this video - I think that's a good thing! Just shows the diversity in your lines that is needed for a meta deck to perform well in this format. You wont get your desired combo every game and even if you do, sometimes its best to go a different route based on the Matchie.. er.. matchup. Great video!
That’s exactly it! It’s easy to make a combo video and say, these are the lines, but in different game states, sometimes that’s not available. I really try to diversify every video to show exactly what you said.. the different lines and how well the deck can adjust to different game states :) Thank you for the support and comment! Means so much to me!
"This video has already gone on very long." Me checking the video length and realizing I just burned through 24 minutes and didn't even notice. Thoroughly engaging stuff!
This is the nearest of my favorite version of dm, where you play 1 of the bricks, lots of quick effects, play schism and duality in the same deck! Really love this!!!!!!!!!
This such a good video bro! deep dive in the match and how you played around the Rikka deck was really good! But everytime i see the price of the deck in Omega BIG SAD
Thank you for the kind words! The deck should get significantly cheaper! Some reprints have been leaked for the mega tins, so hopefully the price drops soon!
Hey Matchie, just wanted to tell you that your theories and ideas for how to play more competitively with dm is really interesting as well as inspiring. Keep it up 👍🏻
So happy to hear that! All I’m striving for is to inspire other DM players even a little bit! Just trying to make the deck decent :) Thanks for the support!
Going to apologize in advance for the long comment. First off good luck dude you are going to kill it Whatever content you put out I’m going to watch! Results side events I’m there! As for actual advice I went to regionals this weekend and while I didn’t to well I did learn a couple things and I’m going to suggest you try out book of moon in the main. I swapped out impermanence for it a few days before and I thought it was a great change. Book is good goin g first a potential interruption that can also stop your opponent from Xyz Synchro or link summoning with a monster Going second it’s a decent board breaker because like impermanence they have to respond to it or lose that effect. The biggest selling point for me was being able to set my own monsters. This allowed me to dodge cards like imperm, effect veiler, and fallen of albaz. Also because you are playing a fusion based deck you can actually set your own cards and still fuse them from face down! So if some one tried to imperm Cartesea on activation you could chain book set her and still fuse! This also works if you are under There Cab Be Only One. I never found myself wish I had imperm over book either. Hope that helps!
Hey bro! Just came to say I love your channel :) your thumbnails look amazing and I really enjoy your editing style! Im getting into yugioh and I want to use dark magician cause he was my favourite as a kid and your videos help a ton!
Doing an awesome job, love the content I've built your initial list and have been building on it myself went undefeated with my current list at my locals, haven't tried super poly version out yet
That makes me so happy to hear that! Congrats on the results! Let me know if you think of any cool techs and ratios that have worked for you! Your comment made my day!
@@MatchieYGO have you considered a copy of quem and like 2 branded openings? I know you wanted to keep it a Dark magician list but quem really boost the ceiling and it's nice having opening in the grave to protect your fusions. I'm on 42 card list right now and I shaved the duality to 2 and added 2 opening and 1 quem especially since it gives me another option to send lulu if needed to special quem in the end phase if needed.
@@ViTo062289I do like quem, I’ve tested it, however in order to play it, you need to play opening and if you’re playing opening you should play your alubers, and right there you have 5-7 cards that clog the deck a bit and you’re forced to cut cards like nibs droll ect. It’s good don’t get me wrong, but it’s ceiling is significantly hindered by the DM side of things. Throughout testing, I find it best to cut the branded fluff and only use whatever directly synergies with the focus of the deck (DM) I do like your thinking though, I 100% tested it
you, dale, and loza give us DM players hope. my deck has been mothballed for months, even trying to figure out how to incorporate albaz and branded into my deck. love the demos, and cant wait to see more of them! #ycstop8orbust
comments like this motivate me to keep making content haha! Thank you for the kind words! Being compared and put in the same sentence as those guys is nothing short of an honour! Means a lot!
Matchie, my best friend. JamTheLad needs your assistance badly. Today at locals ( Wednesday ) I bricked HARD hard hard, back to back to back, 2 super polys 2 dualities and a rod 😅 we have the same deck / side deck and I know it comes down to pilots a lot of the time but my locals is very runick/spright, tearlelements, Kash heavy…. Please help me 😭
Hahaha, that’s just unlucky, going first that hand does nothing, but sometimes setting super poly is enough to stay alive :) Some advice in terms of your matchups, Runick / Spright, Super poly, And Village are going to be your best cards… village and Vanilla DM is enough to win that game. Kash, like I said in the video, Dragoon solo’s that matchup, just focus birth and Zeus :) if you open Kurikara or nibiru, those 2 cards also devastate that deck. As for tear, if you have a heavy tear representation, adjust your side deck to have Bystials (I’d suggest cutting the Judgments for some Bystials and that should help) Hope this helps!
The banlist will do what it does. At the end of the day, we just need to adapt and adjust. There are some wonderful DM players out there, that will work to find other means of playing the deck (myself included) :)
So I am playing your list and enjoying it a lot. One thing I was wondering is why you play DMG instead of 2 DM. Dragoons pop effect only works if you fuse with a normal monster. Just curious
Deff love this content along with the rest of your content.. Have you faced Swordsoul?? Using this deck I struggle greatly against it. My nephew uses chaos angle in his Swordsoul ED..
Swordsoul is all about timing your interactions, try to stop their plays that summon tokens, and aim to bait their negates going second. Cards liek Kurikara, Dragoon, talents and thrusts are very good into that matchup
I really like this DM deck list the only thing I'll change would be one copy of Secret Village for terraforming just for another target for Triple tactics thrust
Thanks for the comment! With how prevalent droll is, I just opt to play 3 village… in addition, going 2nd village isn’t great, and that’s typically the only time thrust can search you terraforming… which doesn’t really make sense to burn main-deck slots for… but I like your thinking.
Saturday locals, undefeated woooooooo Round 1 mirror match won 2-1 Dragoon MVP Round 2 vanquish soul. won 2-1 Dogwood MVP xD Round 3 live twin spright won 2-0 Super poly MVP I put village and rivalry in side deck. Added monster reborn, feather duster, change of heart, raigeki and they all came thru for me today.
your videos + master duel got me into yugioh again. Whats the best place to catch up with all the meta and the best YGO simulator to play with AI to learn the rules?
Makes me so happy to hear that! Made my day! Can’t thank you enough for the kind words, motivates me to make more content. To answer your question: Just for Learning, I’d opt to play deuling nexus and just Vs AI to get fimiliar with the game. It’s a free browser game that runs pretty smooth, and also has online play that’s more “casual” I’d start there :)
Is this master btw? Looks very different. Btw thank you for the explanations of game state. As someone getting back into yugioh the interruptions are a hard concept for ya boy.
Something to keep in mind going forward, super poly seems bad against kash with mudragon and garura as options. Only opportunity to use two of the opponent’s monsters is Shang and riseheart which they wouldn’t end on
Yes and no… I think super poly has its place in the matchup, especially with FOA, and or Deployment. I do agree, that on its own, it’s not as optimal into the matchup, however can be game breaking when it resolves. I appreciate the comment though! Def know what you’re talking about. Respect king!
Hey I was curious I seen you running an accesscode package who did you take out to afford it as someone whos not too familiar with branded who did you cut to fit it in 🤔
I cut the link package for another Albion, Lulu, and superpoly targets (if I wasn’t playing superpoly, they would find their way back into the list for sure)
The issue with branded opening and aluber is we already have our normal summon in rod, and branded opening requires a discard which you already need off of dragoon, lubellion and super poly it just doesnt work.
Pretty much exactly what cranked said in the response, Opening requires so many resources in terms of discards and Extra engine that clogs the deck. You don’t need the extra branded fluff, there is more value in board breakers and hand traps than there is in having branded opening for example. But I appreciate the comment! Thanks for the support :)
@@MatchieYGO I understand your reasoning about not playing Opening (even though that issue can be fixed easily and have a great interaction with Souls by not losing a discard basically), but what about Aluber itself? it's just a way better normal than Rod right now and is a one card starter. Just curiosity. I'm playing almost a similar version for way too long right now (except for the Winda parte), but i ended up just mantaining the most importants cards from the DM engine. Maybe we can trade info and insights of our decks?
At 23:50 you activate Fusion Deployment to Summon DMG, however, I thought you sided your DMG at 16:58 ? I'm assuming just a misplay, but if your opponent did not surrender what would be the gameplan assuming DMG is really sided for this duel.
i lose because in the 3rt match I draw (DMgirl - fallen of alvaz - timaeus - secret villague - secrets of the dark magic) a total brick disaster hand jajaja vs laverinth
@@martinleyria7950 that’s amazing to hear man!! I’m so glad the list is working well for you! I’m so sorry you bricked in the final round, you’ll get the win next time! :)
I think either I got the worst luck in the world or this deck needs a lot of work cus I just tried this deck after looking it over a few days ago and I keep opening up with completely dead hands and I mean utter dog sh--. Last hand going first was 2x duality, dmg, tt thrust, and dark ruler no more... 💀 Maybe it's just ygopro that's acting weird with the shuffle cus it just went online again after being down for several days but I kinda doubt it; though the deck does show promise from the normal game's I played, I have to question relying only on the fusions with the way the main deck is laid out and relying so much on spells...
unfortunately, i wasnt able to win locals 3 weeks in a row i actually forgot dragoon destroy and burn and i keep forgetting cartesia in end phase and lots of other misplays
Keep practicing! When I first started playing I flipped d-barrier calling fusions while my dragoon was on the board Lool… Mistakes happened just learn form them :)
Noted! Yeah Lab is an incredibly difficult matchup for us. I’ll def try to get some footage and maybe make a part 2! I appreciate your support, thank you :)
Now that I think about it, the REAL question here is... even if you DO and THINK you're topping with Dark Magician, will Meta analysis people see it as such? Or will they just toss into the Branded Despia category? lol
That doesn’t really bother me, at the end of the day, We’re playing 15-20 DM cards and only 7 branded cards. If people still think this is a branded deck, then that’s on them haha. I have no control over that :) I’ll let you guys be the judge of that tbh
game 1 v. kash i wouldve discarded thrust instead of illusion to give the least amount of knowledge possible to the opponent for siding game 2 v. kash, what was that opponent doing lmao!
I agree! That was a miss play in hindsight, ultimately it didn’t matter, but against better players that’s the difference. Idk man, omega players are wild. Haha. Thanks for the comment though! Means a lot!
@@smiletoday5696 Well this most likely wasnt done intentionally by Matchies part. He could of done games on high rated DB for a better chance at playing good players. And even then we dont know the situation of that Rikka player who looked like they were new to the deck. Could perform the combo but lacked the insight on how to use his interuptions into branded.
@@alexanderspassov4759both of you are right. I hate DB personally, just the interface is so outdated. I do agree that OMEGA Ranked isn’t the highest tier of players though. Unfortunately, I’m only able to use the tools I have available, but I’m trying my best to make it work haha. Maybe DB is the play going forward. But I def appreciate the insight, gona work on improving this side of my content going forward :)
@@MatchieYGO Yeah I totally get that. Omega is faar more convenient and easy to use compared to DB. For the purposes of a video it totally makes sense. Both platforms come with some benefits and costs. I usually wouldnt even say anything like my original comment except for the fact that Im a Rikka Sunavalon main for over a year now since before POTE so it just really irked me seeing the missplays. But I mean youve got it basically down for your siding pattern against Rikka.
It will be perfect if you have the time to make separate videos discussing the strategy behind playing with the dark magician deck for the top 5 meta decks. For example, Kashtira, right? If you know that your opponent is playing Kashtira, what is the optimal goal or endboard that you should build against Kashtira deck. Man you are doing a fantastic Job! I started to play the deck myself. Super excited to see your performance at the YCS. I really you top and not just that but win with dark magician. Congratulations! You are awesome.
Also, I would suggest you do not reveal every strategy so that when you play the event, people Don't know very well what are your entire deck/ strategy.
