How to Beat the Ogre Kingdoms | Total War Warhammer 3 

I find Cathay and the Ogre territories to be best looking area of the map. The environment is so varied but not in the typical "Chaos-aligned, Unreality" style that other 'varied' environments in the game look. The Maw is so strange and fascinating, the mountain passes are gorgeous, the land of the Titans is so eerie. Love it!

Ogres, my lord

In my Khugath campaign taught me. Fight them in the trees. All their units being large means fighting them in trees makes nurglings and plaugebearers stand toe to toe with mid tier ogre infantry

But how will we defeat the Ogres my lord? Summon the Elector Counts!

After playing a ton of ogre kingdoms in campaign, I’d have to say that the best counter to ogres is missile spam and very strong small single entities. Ogre armies eat sword-and-board infantry for breakfast, so use spears and halberds to blunt their charge and use high-mass units of your own to hold them in place. Use a lord or some cav to save ranged units that are getting chased down, but make sure to also use them to disrupt any leadbelchers or ironblasters that may be hanging back. Keep your army’s formation as cohesive as possible and focus fire stuff like giants and stonehorns. DONT position your infantry units on elevated slopes and ledges, unless you want them to get sent flying down and insta-killed by fall damage.

Honestly I rarely see them survive long enough to become a threat. I dont even know one time ive seen them field tier 5 units.

Camps are the greatest threat from the Ogres, constantly raiding your resources and being built up will be a pain to deal with. But these guys aren't really difficult on the campaign when you can manage dealing with their camps. Units however will be painful with all the gunpowder and speed and mass they have. So Colonel Damneders is correct. Hold them down and grind them to dust.

I think that the ai ogre camps are still broken though - they don’t build buildings in the camp. So the ogres tend to be poorer than normal and they can only recruit ogre bulls or iron guts (for the entire game - no magical lords, no artillery, no ranged units apart from useless gnobblars, etc) in their armies, making them super easy to steamroll for most other ai factions and the players with missile factions. Which sucks cause the ogre kingdoms are my fav faction. Would love to see them fixed one day, with a slightly wider and more interesting unit roster as well. Do take what I said about the camps with a grain of salt, I haven’t played the game for about 3-4 weeks - been too annoyed at CA and I want to see what they do with SoC first.

I have to say... even the basic ogre units like iron-bellies and bulls... suck hard to fight. Oh, this guy had a full stack of ogre bulls? Easy, right? Nah - they're bigger then you, stronger than you, faster than you, and have more HP then you. Your best front line is decimated instantly.

hasn't seemed to matter how thick we put our front lines, they seem to just walk right through. Their characters are even worse for it.

Camps do steal also your resources? Because they should
