I watched like 5 videos. What worked is going for double-bladed as it had highest DPS with lowest animation lock (can move fast after attack). Now it also really helps to use the bone which stuns him for like 5+ seconds. He will also stun around 70% of hp. You want to be really aggressive on the big openings (after grab, during the stun at 70% or stun from the bone). Also death animation triggers around 10% hp left. You want get two attack chains to get him to 70% (dodge, attack till next combo comes up, back off, attack again till he gets to 70%, keep attacking to around 50% of his HP). Then grab the bone and stun him and go ham on him again. With good RGN you can actually kill him from 50% or get really close. Double-bladed force attack also hits hard and has some range. Stomp, grab, shockwawe can all be dodge with jump. Better to dodge punches tho. Good luck.
how to beat: turn it to story mode, then right after turn it back. since i’ve become a dad i ain’t got time to keep dying hundreds of times so i just did that. don’t tell no one tho lmao
Bro I’m a dad too and I too do this to keep things simple especially since idc for the first play through as much because I don’t have the red lightsaber
I’m not a dad but I’m in my 40s and I definitely don’t have the patience for a long drawn out fight. I also just turn it to story mode and get on with it.
I just had to cheese the rancor in Phon’Qi Caverns because I had zero stims left. I started by jumping on a platform and saber throwing at him. I then found it somewhat faster to force throw the little acid balls at him in quick succession
I beat him yesterday. took me half a the day. U can actually just parry all of his attacks (except for the "red" attacks and the stomping attack). And in the first phase USE THE DOUBLE BLADE! Chips away much more health bar. In the second phase u have to switch to the standard blade, coz the time windows for attacks arent as wide enough.
half a year later and Im still puzzled how you can fck up the customization so much that I honestly dont like to play with any of the options, like how, no Cal Ive ever seen looks like oh yeah let me try out that combo, they all look meh AF now we know why they only gave us Ponchos in the first one, they just arent able to deliver on that front
This video was a great help, thanks for making this. Ik this video is for the early game, but having charge shots with the blaster stance can make these guys way more bearable and make fights last much shorter. Getting the jump dash move also makes avoiding the grab less nervewracking too.
Actually you can dodge left effectively. All I ever did was dodge to the left and evaded him pretty easily. When he does the double swipe I parry both attacks. Only because I played on GM mode he only needed one hit. So you have to be near perfect.
Rather than jumping left, it's actually better dodge into the Rancor's grab, from my experience. It seems counterintuitive, but it nets you an extra normal combo hit (I find Single easier than Dual for this) in most cases, since you have to close less distance. The extra hits add up quickly.
