Great video. The point I’d add in terms of what I’ve seen take Guard players by surprise is how tough a lot of the Nids are. So many units have stealth, high toughness, 4+ invuls, sources of FNP. Obviously a gross generalisation but I’d say a good rule of thumb is that a Nid army will kill less than you expect but survive more.
I played against Tyranids just two days ago, with Adepta Sororitas. The guy brought two big bugs and a boatload of Termagants and other horde thingies. The Sisters killed the two big bugs and a whole lot of the smaller ones. Pointwise the game was a draw but the Sororitas put up one hell of a fight.
Commissars are a hard counter to Tyrinides battle shock with moral rerolls and executions. Two 6(+) moral rolled is a 92% pass for battle shock and summary executions are auto pass to 12 inches from the Commissar. Add Cadian command squads with the banner for Cadia Stands and the nids will be surprised they can’t count on battle shock.
Hey nice video As a nids player myself I’ve got a few inputs if you’re interested One the vanguard stat to make the battle round higher for Strat resv is probably more impactful in the fact you can bring stuff in on the sides turn one even if you got first Also Zoans only have 3 wounds not 4 they die very fast if they don’t kill their target and they are very swingy with only 6 laz shots basically
The Trannofex is I think is one of the best anti tank in the game. Hits on a 2 A2 S18 AP-4 2D6 damage….casino cannon is well worth a CP to re roll. It’s tough to kill too, blanking damage once per game.
some corrections and additional points from a bug enjoyer, invasion fleet as a 5+fnp Strat that gets used a lot. unending swarm gets reinforcements as a Strat, good on gargoyles as they can deep strike, and zoanthropes are 3 wounds not 4, they went back down to 3 at the beginning of tenth. and a thing to be wary of is the tyrannofex with an acid spray as you can abuse overwatch with it as its a torrent weapon (more of a threat to marines that guard but it'll do some damage)
I mean, you opponent failing all his 4+ is just bad luck. Not saying they are not squishy. But anecdotal evidence of your opponent rolling bad is not really proof of that.
So one thought with the invasion fleet. If they select the lethal hits option all of their ranged and cc attacks are precision (on a critical). So they could target officers, commisars and others characters attched to units couldnt they? Therefore nullifying our orders if they kill them.
You pick between the 3 options of lethal vs vehicle, sustained vs infantry or precision vs characters at the start of the game. However you still have to worry about precision no matter what since they have a 1cp strat to pick up to 2 of their units to get a second choice for that turn so can for example get lethal vs vehicles AND precision vs characters on 2 units that turn.
