My 13-year-old son just told me he wanted to become a barber, I am here to learn everything about my babies future passion. I told him that instead of A down payment for a house for his 18th birthday, I would instead sign a lease for him to open his business after he’s out of high school. Now I get to have an extra couple years with him before he flies out on his own.
Word ! that's when I started. Keep focused on being great and you'll become the smart business mind you want to be. Read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" if you haven't already. Great book to understand money.
I remember watching this video before ever buying my first clipper and 2 years later i’m a full time barber finishing license. The tips in this video have helped me when i first started.
As a 25 year old and barely getting into barbering this was very motivational and the steps truly make sense great video man truly inspired me to keep going even at this age it’s never too late !
You know what crazy, when I decided I wanted to be a barber I saw his early video, in which he showed you what you need. I ordered everything on Amazon and the next day that was when my journey. All he says is absolute facts man. To see the progress and what he says, he is for the people man, great job 👏🏾
I'm 17 I'm already in on spot to work in a local barber shop to work there all the barber said is "get your license and come to work with me" I'm so pumped God willing I will do good Thanks for these tips bro and may god bless you
Very help bro! I'm actually 27 and looking to change careers after 6-7 years of working as Security. This was so helpful, a real mind-set shifter in how to approach not only the change of career but life too. Much appreciated 🙏
this makes me feel better as a 25 year old been working in the psych field for 7 years and i’m ready for a change been interested in this for a hot minute. hope you’ve found success!
Bro i watched your videos from 4 years ago when you were cutting in college trying to see if you can do anything with it. Its dope to see how much you have grown and how much better you have gotten over the years. Stay fresh man, keep on that grind bro
Definitely thinking of becoming a barber once I'm out of high school. thanks for making these videos! My mom gave me permission to watch videos and learn to practice on my little brother every month to learn the fine, fine art of barbering.
Great video. Stumbled here through lockdown like so many others. What resonates with me is nothing to do with barbering though, what you have talked through is how to build a business. Everything you said applies to all business’s. Spend wisely on ya tools, learn how to use them, develop experience ...... keep evolving, embrace technology etc. It’s a footprint, or for want of a better analogy, a guideline right there. I love to see young people thriving in business. Well done ‘the barbers table’ 👍
I’m 21 on now and just started taking barbering serious I always had a passion for cutting hair I started out cutting my own hair for 2yrs straight just for practice so I can make myself better as a barber Also all my friends and family peers always told me to go to barber school but I haven’t enrolled yet but im all in for it I Just Wanna Go Get My Diploma And Actually Lock In This Is Great Motivation !! Transition From The Streets To A Barber !!
Same here I'm 18 I was doing practice since 17 but did not really take it seriously but now I am Gonna try I just. Worry it will be to late for me idk but I hope you also Become better barber than before
Just quit my job at a supermarket for an apprenticeship, moving out and moving cities, I can't fucking wait to get started into this unique career. Sure be seeing alot more of your videos so thanks for the help my guy!
"Impact over income" Wow! Thank you so much bro for this vid. I am an aspiring barber here in the Philippines. 💯% sure this would help me a lot to become a succesful barber. Salute bro!
I just subscribed to your channel bro I'm starting my apprenticeship tomorrow morning and my nerves have been all over the shop but it's something I feel I will be very comfortable with once I get over that nervous barrier. Well done on the video aswell it's good to see Soo many supportive barbers out to give such amazing tips and support
That’s crazy just rewatched this video for the first time again after being almost 1.5 years(watched it before jumping into barbering) into my apprenticeship and I’ll be honest still one of my favorite videos I’ve seen to this day. Kinda feel like i’m at the point of recognizing my options right now. Mannnn it’s been a hell of a ride so far tho haha
Started at sports clips coming from cosmo school into mostly clipper cuts super intimidating but this video definitely made me feel better ! Thank you ! 🙌🏼
I’ve been following for a few months & love your videos in general, but just wanted to say that I really appreciated this one in particular. For me, you really stand out from other channels through the care you show in your videos & their content 🙏🏾
Today I have decided to walk the journey of a barber. Imnervous, i feel like I havent had purpose since leaving the military but this video really helped. You've recieved yet another humble student to the craft!
Love this . My dad cuts and has his own shop and Im his youngest daughter looking to cut myself from the years watching him. Not many female barbers in my city so it would be a game changer
aye yo i don’t know if you’ll see this message, i just randomly came across your comment but i hope your doing well in life, it’s never to late for nothing man, go get that fuckin bag dwag the world won’t wait on you !!!
Thanks for dropping knowledge. Been cutting for 10 years now trying to do it professionally. Been studying and working on my craft for years. Investing my time where it's needed. Asking any barber for tips and advice. This video covered alot of that. Thanks again.
i’m 22 and wanna start cutting hair. been afraid to cause a lot of ppl cut hair now, but i feel like i genuinely could be good at cutting hair and connecting with people..idk but i think i am gonna start cutting hair.
I am a women, and in my little town there are NO BARBERS and the hair stylists don’t know how to cut males hair the way i am hearing guys are wanting it. So i am the one who wants to start it up
Nice solid tips. I'm not an aspiring barber at all. But I like to volunteer my head to aspiring barbers. Saves me money. 😛 I don't ask for a stylish supercut since my hairline is receding a bit. Simple, easy and short cut. As well, I ask them for a clean face shave. New barbers need to learn to how to use the blade. 😜
31 here and just got offered an apprenticeship at my buddy's barber shop. Pretty nervous to take the dive but I feel like this helped. Appreciate the video
Amazing video!! I’ve been thinking about becoming a barber which I’ve had no experience whatsoever but, I’ve had many haircuts from below average, average to best quality fades now and always payed attention to how they work, talk about how long they’ve been doing it etc all of that small talk stuff, I’m only now watching videos on barbering cause got to a point in life where I want to do something new and exciting. Thanks to you it’s pushing me to want to learn more and push for it get out of my comfort zone a little🤝💖
Kinda happy that I found this channel! Not a barber but you have broken a stereotype of barbers being one dimensional. It is very wholesome...thoughtful...intellingent...insightful! Very mature content and has better taste and deserves to be in the convo with other YT channel tbh...barbering wise! Keep it up! Drop a vid about types of barbeshop and barbershop culture! Has barbering changed. Has babering gone beyond a "black barbershop" nevertheless I like the channel so yeah!
I’m not knocking the brother here but for myself this is what worked. I went online(I live in Canada) and found some barbering courses, the one I took was 19 hundred dollars, 8 full weekends from 10am-5pm so if you can find a barbershop that teaches, DO IT! two grand is nothing for all the knowledge I obtained. Once you are half way through the course, ask if you can start working there part time or find another shop, start working somewhere, a place that will give you easy clients(that’s what I did) I know the brother here said, cut as much hair as you can, who’s going to let a dude with no experience cut their hair? Hell naw lol. Finish the course and continue working, for me, that course was everything. Main things were lining up, fade, scissors and straight razor was left for one of the experience barbers. So 1 find a barbering course and take it 2 find a shop that will allow you to start doing basic haircuts. The advice here was good but vague
The order of things here was very intentional. Your comment doesn't compare to the detail in the video, so 'vague' is a confusing description. Secondly, for anyone reading, it doesn't really make sense to pay to be in a field you have yet to try. There are people who are willing to allow you to learn on their hair, who do you think the students in cosmetology/barber school practice on? They pay btw, those same people would more than likely offer their head top for free. How do ik? I've done both. I did everything in the video. Education is free and easy to find online. Get your feet wet, and if you want to go further... go further. God forbid you learn you don't want to be barber $20k too late.
Another banger Kev definitely can't wait to start barber school been watching different RU-vidr barber and you definitely be spitting that knowledge can't wait to start my journey keep brining that 🔥
You’re a very sensible and kind hearted person. It really shows thru everything you do... I appreciate you bro and know that you’re making a difference. Any advice at all for an older barber student, I’m 44? Don’t laugh fam, seriously though?
Thanks man. I really appreciate that. And haha, it's never too old to start man. The benefit you have over younger barber's is life's experiences to make better decisions. You've seen more, and have experienced the work field. The steps remain the same for you, I'd just get to school as soon as possible.
I appreciate your reply and I’m currently in barber school. Mostly done raising my kids, I got 3 of them in major D1 colleges and now I can kinda wind down, relax and do what I’ve always wanted to do. ✊🏾
Love what you said about going to a shop with people who want to grow and not one with just the most walk ins, gives a MUCH deeper reason to get into a shop than just money!!! I’m currently in barber school, kinda nervous about what I’ll do after but this video helped so much!!! Gave me a better structure to think about 💯👍🏻
Thanks man appreciate you I’m looking to set up a little area for barbering in my garage and cutting hair for 10$ and starting a Instagram page you’ve helped me gain confidence after I’ve been watching a lot of fade videos
What you say to someone who wants to be all things not just one as he gets older. I’m 25 and never wanted to do just one thing with my life. Started in college for my theology degree. Wanted to become a pastor and show people my love for Jesus. Dropped out after losing my mom. I’m now in a nursing home as a certified nurse assistant. I want to eventually do rn school, but loved the atmosphere of barber shops and the love how I felt after I get a fresh cut. Would doing hair on the side of being a registered nurse be possible? What would your take on it be?
Hey I’m 17 years old with no job and I wanted to become a barber I’ve been doing really good at it and I live in a apartment and I just wanted to open a business and start cutting my friends hair and make money but I haven’t even started anything yet
Love the video bro bro,in the process of trying to pick a school but don't know if I want to start cosmetology or barbering I love cutting mens hair but wouldn't mind the expensive training to expand the knowledge on beauty and hair
