Heloo Lee! I'm from Bulgaria and I'm a big fen of you and "Preston innovation". Your presentations of the Preston's products made me get feeder rod "Distance masters" 4.0m and I don't regret my choice. Best rod for distance and it is so sensitive for shy bites. I'm sorry that I couldn't meet you in the world feeder championship for clubs in Bulgaria.

A great guide from an angler that I have great respect for, nicely filmed by Joe C. It was nice to see that Lee is still using using a length of stiffer line to kick the hooklength away. I do the same using Fluorocarbon and have virtually eliminated tangles. Simple ideas are always the best! I wonder what distance Paul Kerry could have cast with that gear, Lee’s dad who was a tournament caster, for those younger viewers! Seriously a very good video from Preston, please let’s have more. Regards Bill

could you show how long casting works when you have leader that is like 1.2meter long so its risky to hit the back ground and snap the hook.. how does that work ? how mutch line you have before casting ? when i feeder fishing with 3.6m and i have 1meter long leader its kinda want to touch the grass on my back when i want to swing it.. so any tips ?

Great video Lee. Of all the anglers I've fished against, you are the best. I'm going to have you this year mate, third time lucky ;) It's fascinating to see one of my favourite anglers, fishing one of my favourite pegs, and how differently we tackle it. I'm a Ferry Meadows regular. I've ditched the conventional overhead cast for distance feeder fishing, and chuck 50-90 yards with 0.14 mono and a 15-20g feeder. 30g max, if I'm casting into a strong headwind. I prefer a taped up Matrix Horizon XD Feeder to those. they are more aerodynamic, and ditch less feed on impact. That corner of Overton fills with hybrids in late summer, and they become a nuisance on the drop if you don't get all your feed down to deck. Unconventionally for a coarse angler, I pendulum cast. With practice it's as accurate as an overhead cast imo. You don't need a shock leader. I've not cracked off...yet. You have to work out the angle relative to distance, and cast to marker to the right of your target (if you're right handed) if you want to hit the same spot consistently, but it gives me considerably more distance, with less disturbance. You need a stiff rod with a heavy tip. I incorporate a short length of pole elastic between the feeder and the hook length, to cut out hook pulls. I've even experimented, using a cheap 14' float rod without a tip, using a bobbin. I think it's marginally better, it certainly makes it easier to distinguish liners from bites. I do get some funny looks from other anglers... but, convention is for sheep.

Great video but what did you do with the ground bait you mixed at Boddington ?

Alongside des shipp Lee Kerry are probably the best at explaining these methods.. excellent video. One personally I've waited for a few yrs long long distance casting into the same area is very difficult. The harder you hit the rod the more control you lose. I learned that from Lee's dad Paul sea casting many many yrs ago.. how tight an area was lee casting into.. Or was it a wider general area. I suspect I'm not the only one wondering this... keep up the great work guys.

Hi Lee, if you paired the Preston distance master feeder 3.8m (80g) with the Preston Extremity 520, would that combination be any good for feeder fishing up to 60-70m for bream and carp? Kind regards Richard.

Lee if your bringing the rod back just before the feeder hits it's maximum position. ( I.e stops behind your head) .. start the cast, this will pre load the tip making it actually EASIER to hit your distance. And as we know the less power in the cast the more accurate it will be...

Hello. 9:55 can i use this rig for carp? Or the line u used is too long? I think If i put 8mm pop up its not ok. I hope u understand what i want to say.thx

It's silly to think that a good braid is not durable enough to cast with for a long time :))....As in a season worth of casting:).....

Those rods bend like magic! It was a terrific presentation as well. And what about the different tips of the rods? Do you use the strongest ones? Why, etc.?

Another great video and helpful tips. What is the benefit to the swivel on the end of the method feeder rather than the one that comes on the stems and how would you attach them?

@@leejohnson221 Hi Lee, nice to hear from you. I hope your are doing well and you are catching plenty on the Tip. Browning certainly have some top quality Tip rods on the market. I've heard a lot of good things about the Freespirit rods, RW on this video showed me one at JCB Lakes, they certainly seem to have a really nice action and cast very well. Cheers mate.

Really nice video; thanks Lee. One question - why do you back-wind onto your distance sticks rather open the bale arm? Does it reduce line twist or is there another reason? Cheers!

Not a great choice for mono line bc you can easily and cheaply find 0.22mm line that holds about 10-12kg and he has much thicker line (0.28mm)that can hold only 4.5kg
@michaelwing5443
@michaelwing5443 4 года назад
Like to know what brand of line is .22mm and has a 10kg breaking strain. Talking accurate measurements, which are quite rare.
@junackadesnica6301
@junackadesnica6301 4 года назад
@@michaelwing5443 robinson is one cheap version of 0.21mm that holds 10 kg more accurate titan power feeder robinson and there are many more brands that are way strogner but bit more expensive i mean i dont know where are you from but im from croatia and here fishing tackle is quite cheap and you can find whatever you want so its strange for me to see lines that are that thick and that weak. Cuz iv owned mono 0.18 lines with 10kg+. But i also owned 0.33 with 10kg so yeah i understand you there
