Bro I have graduated in 2016 and there is no gap in my practice since that...can I apply for ifom cse?do I stand a chance?will be thankful if u can kindly enlighten me
@@drhousemd3359 yes you are eligible to apply but you should hurry up because you will be eligible only this cycle , (and probably next cycle also), HMC recruits only those who are graduated within last 6 years. For more accurate information its better to send an email to HMC and ask about your eligibility for residency application. All the best
Congrats u got matched, i also want to join qatar but I m confused , whether should i appear in Step 2 ck or IFOM ? Which one is better , kindly guide Thanks
@@asprintoxicity2004 I would suggest you to take ifom. Sometime the program directors think those have usmle may apply for US residency later, and leave the program in between. So ifom is better. Other wise no big difference.
Thanks for the video sir. Please I want to know if it is possible to practise as a cardiologist in the US after internal med residency in the Qatar and cardiology fellowship in the US
Heyy!! Thanks for video Malke Assad I'm aspiring medical student for HMC residency program Can you enlighten more about the things like do we really need not to have ecfmg certified in order to apply HMC residency and need not to have Step 1 exam ???
Hello Malke. First of all thank you for making the videos. They are very informative. I wanted to ask regarding doing residency in Qatar. If a person does residency in an ACGME accredited hospital in Qatar is he eligible to practice in USA after that? Or does he still need to do residency again here before he could practice? Thanks!
Thank you. If you do residency in Qatar and you want to practice in the US, you need to either do a fellowship or residency again in the US. This applies to doing residency in other countries as well.
Hello, thank you so much for making this video! I have a question, is it true that even if you get fellowship in the US as a Qatar grad, you will still have to do residency all over again if you want to practice there?
This is the video i was looking for .. thank you.. i have some extra questios regarding this matter.. but I can't find answers.. could you advise me whom i can ask please.. thank you again doc.
Thank you for making this video Dr. Malke. I have a question, I don't live in UAE nor do my parents. Can foreign medical students/doctors who are not UAE residents still apply for a medical residency in UAE and match? Or is it that only those who live in UAE can match into a medical residency in UAE?

Hi , can thyroid patient live in doha for work ... ? Can I take my thyroid pill in the luggage without telling anybody ? Does anyone check luggage on arrival there? Pls confirm
Thanks you Dr Malik Asaad. You guy are amazing I have watched your video at SAMS EDUCATIONAL COMMITTEE about step 2 ck preparation with Madhat Farawati. I think your scores of usmle step 2 ck is highest one every reported in Usmle, I will follow your guidelines insh Allah. I HAVE Few QUESTIONS FOR you : 1. Regarding Hamad medical corporation residency which one they prefer more step 2 ck or ifom, bcz I have heard contradicting info saying they prefer ifom because full ECFG cerfied will not stay Qatar and leave and they want someone stay and complete residency? 2. What else I can improve my chance of acceptance apart from basic requirements of HMC? Thank you sorry about length of the questions.
Thank you 1- I don't think so. Step 2 can also open other doors for you if you are ready to take it. 2-Step 1, clinical experience, research, volunteering Best
Hey Malke, thanx for this informative video, Well I got a question for you. I can not find a list about department/branchs which qatar accepts as a doctor( such as internal medicine etc) Can you help me? Greetings from Turkey
Uworld Uworld Uworld. This is the only way to get a good score in IFOM to be honest. Do around 1-2 blocks everyday for at least 4-8 weeks and you're set. When you want to test yourself you can do a practice IFOM exam from NBME which costs around $30 i think. I also watched videos from Online Med Ed, which helped a lot.
Hello. Thank you for providing us with valuable information. I was wondering about the fact that number of seats available for IMGs are very less. Max is 31 for IM and that too require arabic proficiency so that makes it really tough almost impossible to get. Can anyone in Qatar residency please guide about it. Many thanks in advance.
Hello brother... I had done MBBS with 1year internship with diploma in child health in India.. What should I do to work in Qatar as a medical resident?
If someone is cured and treated from Syphilis with VDRL negative but TPHA is positive (usually remain forever in the blood even if the person is cured) is it possible to get RP in Qatar?
Thank you Dr Malke, how do I begin my first step of being matched for residency program? I have 3 years of clinical experience and I would like to write IFOM, how do I get the materials needed. Secondly, it's confusing, am I not meant to get Qatar licence to practice medicine first before applying for residency?
Hello everyone , I have a question, if I will graduated without intership , should I apply for intership or residency? Because for applying residency we should have intership ? I didnt undrstant ,
Hi, Than you for the valuable information presented. my questions is it possible to do two years of residency in HMC then ump to the USA as soon as I am ECFMG certified to begin a new residency there? or will the HMC bound me with a contract fro a certain amount of years?
Hello! I have a question to which I couldn't find answers anywhere. How can a specialist (qualified after 4 year-long residency/specialist training) doctor with 6 years of specialist experience work in Qatar? do they still have to pass the prometric exam? I couldn't find any info re this. Thank you in advance.
How to apply : 1 : Certificate of Graduation from Medical School 2 : Copy of Certificate of Completion of Internship ( Rotating Straight ) 3 : USMLE Step 2 CK OR IFOM Results 4 : TOEFL ibt > 80 score OR IELTS 7 or more bands
This is from the website "B4. Have been in continuous clinical practice in the one-year period preceding application and with no practice gaps of one year or greater at any time since internship completion (without appropriate justification of extenuating circumstances). " "Graduated, between 2015 and 2020 (inclusive), from a medical school listed on the register of the World Directory of Medical Schools"
Yes you can work as a specialist in Qatar if you finished residency program in Russia. Otherway, you have to start residency program all over again if you wish to join residency program
I hope you see this But does this apply for non-qatari residents? Becaused as I read before that you need to be either with a qatari nationality or a you have a first degree relative who can take you under their permit please help :)
Hello, I’m currently a resident permit holder in qatar and looking for medical schools in Georgia or Malaysia. As in malaysia the degree is 5 years while in Georgia it’s 6 along with internship. My question is to be able yo Residency or internship in doha as per my plans to practice in doha, ( I’ve spent half my life in doha and almost it’s my home now) So question is which is better option for me to go Georgia 6 years to malaysia 5 years? And qatar medical council accepts degrees from other countries as Well yea ?
Generally there is a trend by medical employers to ask for a6-year university program length, as it’s required for licensing by the department of health professionals in qatar

Hello doctor thank you so much for this video, and I find your content/videos very helpful! I would like to ask if you graduated medical school outside from Qatar(Example: Philippines) can you apply for the residency program? And do you need to have a family member living in Qatar in order for you to get a residency visa? I am currently a pre-med student in the Philippines and it is my dream to work in Qatar in the future. My cousin and aunt from the Philippines lives and works there too and I was wondering if they could help in me getting a resident visa. Hope you could read this. Thank you
@@beauben205 Hey, I'm also currently a medical student wishing to do residency in Qatar, i would love to get an update from you, are you still in med school?
First of all, thanks a lot to make such an informative video. May Allah Bless you. Have two questions. Q1: If we finish our Mbbs degree without an internship from WHO recognized medical college, then can we get a chance to do an internship in Qatar? There will be an exam to get an internship? and do we have to pay for an internship or it will be on scholarship? Q2: If we pass step 2 CK, and have MD degree and also IELTS bands more than 7, so we can get residency in Qatar, but during residency we will have to pay fee?? or we will get full funded scholarship + will get paid??? if they will give pay so how much?? Thanks in advamce
Q1 Most people do one year of residency in their country as the internship Q2 You get paid during residency and it is more than enough to live a happy life in Qatar
Doctor, I have few questions regarding this. 1. Can I leave the qatar residency as I wish (As it is almost 4 yrs)? 2. Total cost upto getting the qatar residency 3. How do I manage time for observership, externships, and also research while I am doing residency in qatar? 4. Payscale of a qatar resident, cost in daily living, how much may I expect to save? 5. As qatar is a small country, how difficult is it really to get a residency?
1- You can leave but you will not get certificate of finishing residency. 2- It should not cost much since you do most things while you are in home country. 3-The answer to this depends on the specialty and how you can manage your time. 4-You can search for this information online 5-It is getting more and more competitive.
It is Persian Gulf brother. Period! Regardless of what the folks on the Western part of the Gulf may believe, the name of the Gulf is not interchangeable between Persian and Arabian Gulf.
