Small dobe breeder in Ohio. Tough past year, having finally quit MY 9-5. Randomly came across this channel last week and am loving the tips, hints, and encouragement, as opposed to the snobbish competition remarks when I have questions for breeders of the same breed. My dogs' well being is my top priority so I'm not interested in the competition bickering when looking for a trusted opinion. Thanks so much! God bless!

Spent nearly $10,000 on starting a small, 2 female AKC Champion Bloodline chihuaha puppy side gig business. Did not make any of my money back. Now caring for 7 dogs full time that I can't find buyers for; even after dropping my price to below what un-registerable puppies are listed for. Advertised on 5 web sites; 2 that charged a lot, and facebook. Did everything right and by the book. While buying my adult females, and stud service, I went to the homes of 4 other breeders who all had around 20 dogs. I thought it was because they were full time, big breeding businesses. But now I know they each own that many dogs because many puppies cannot be sold. The dog over population problem is a big problem; especially for higher priced dogs. Not only are animal shelters experiencing a doubling of surrender rates, but so too are Childrens' Services. Record numbers of people turning custody of their children over to the States.

This applies to all aspects of work life. Diversifying income into multiple streams allows one to be independent with lower risk than investing all your time, money, and effort into a single idea. You could almost repost this video with a new title to reach a broader audience that is not dog breeder related. It's a good life lesson to anyone who is looking to become independent / self-employed with less risk.

Please please please, do NOT breed Yorkies unless you're going to help fix the genetic defects of the breed. Find those breeders and work with them, if you must. But seriously, go volunteer at an animal shelter before breeding dogs.

I agree with Multiple streams I have 2 online business, and god willing if my stud stays healthy I can be able to stud him out. And I may want to order a PG machine from you. To start that up local.
