Good summary of the stuff that comes in to play when writing Java software. I think this video is a good eye opener for beginners who think they might be ready for a job after learning the basic syntax of a language and the basics of a web framework. Projects nowadays get more and more complex with things like microservice architectures, cloud services, container orchestration, messaging systems, CI/CD pipelines etc.

It is definitely not impossible! If I did it you can do it too. Just find a motivation for doing it, other than money of course because that will not be strong enough to make you go through all the obstacles. When love is involved everything becomes easier, so find love in learning the art of programming and everything else will come along.

Or one not so old but yet newer version? Does the company you work for later tell you which version to pick? And another question, with so many online courses to pick from what do you need to look for when choosing a course that is good? Cheers!

Hi there, thanks for the feedback! Golang is an incredibly fast and powerful language suitable for low level programming (kind of like C++ equivalent). Not passing an interview is not failure, it is part of the learning process. But not doing them, it is.

Hi there! That's awesome that you're following the Testing career. It's one of my favourite areas. But you must know that automated testing is almost as an evolution of back end developer. So you'd have to have solid understanding of REST, Spring and Java programming. To do automated testing in the Java ecosystem you'd be using JUnit, Mockito, AssertJ, Gatling, Karate, Selenium and so on.

Hi there! The answer is NO. NOT AT ALL. The only thing you need is a good understanding of the Java programming language to start creating Spring Boot applications,

For 0 to jr. 😢, I assume this is the 3rd most difficult language after c and c++
@learn_with_phil

There's no such thing as a difficult language. There's not enough time put into learning it. Remember, there's no shortcut to success. Enjoy the journey and get better one day after the other.

Definetely! These Jr. skills presented here would easily open up the doors for you to land a Jr. position in any company that uses Java as their main language.

I've been told it's basically impossible to get a Java developer job with no job experience... Is that true? Is learning Java a waste of time if you're new?
@learn_with_phil
@learn_with_phil Год назад
Never believe in what other people tell you because the mind of a person that doesn't believe in herself will automatically trick her in thinking the same about you. You can become a self taught developer with Java as well as any other programming language. I would recommend doing a CS50 course together with so you learn the computer science fundamentals. Then start applying for Jr. position jobs showing them example projects that you developed.

hey! it will depend on your lifestyle of course. on how fast you want to get there, the time available to study. also if you're willing to do trainings and all that. you could become a good java developer in 6 months.

I do not disagree, but so funny how programmers do things and as from sys ops we try to contain your programming crap and ensure the system is secure plus with network Stuff not sure you guys know how all that works. For example why is a Cisco 9200 switch needed and why is a Linux pc not doing that, why is SELinux mandatory? Programmers even though I dip toes in it has no clue on how or hardware to scale on your apps on your dockers are seamless and just works. That is what sys and network engineers do
