Thank you so much. I am happy to help in whatever way that i can. I did not have a platform like this when transitioning and that was a major motivation to start this channel. i really appreciate the support!!!!!
I love your Video, quite simple and explanatory and I have also subscribed to your channel. For those of us in the Express Entry Pool as a dependant , at what stage am I going to be able to use the application process to enhance my score
Hi Temi! First of all thank you very much for this amazing video, it's really helpful and you explain everything amazingly well. I have two concerns, one is Do you know if the practices are paid? And the second thing is, how was the process of transferring your license to AB? I am currently working as a Pharmacy Assistant in Alberta (I am a Pharmacist in Spain) but here it takes around 26 months to get licensed, would you recommend (of course every situation is different) to get licensed, for example in Manitoba, and then do the transfer to AB? Thanks again for this video!!!
Hi, From what you explained I understood that it took a period of like two years to be licensed. Within this period of two years can you get a masters degree and is it advisable to get a masters degree in Canada before starting the process( something health related like health informatics) for someone looking to branch into into pharmacy informatics. And also does having a B. Pharm or Pharm D degree affect the process or your practice. Thank you.
Thanks for your question and i apologize for the late response. My advice would be to choose one to execute at a time: either you do the masters degree or your pursue the pharmacy transition. My reason is that schooling in Canada is intense and it may not be effective to do both at the same time. Both goals can still be achieved but do 1 first before the other. If you want to branch into health informatics, just go for that directly and then later on, you can choose to do the exams if you still want to. At least at this point, you are doing it at a more relaxed pace. The minimum to have is a B.pharm to start the process.
Tope I must sincerely commend your doggedness and perseverance in all these processes. Can you throw light on remote proctoring for international exams? For Nigeria,is it only done in Lagos or at one's convenient abode?
Thanks for your question sir. In Nigeria, yes it is only done Lagos; that is the only approved center. It can be done from home or in the center but advisably to do it in the centers to avoid any stories that touch. However, once the exam has been booked, i believe that the availability of the center would depend on the number of applicants. Whichever is the case, PEBC will let you know what your options are when you register
please i have a question; hopefully you see this and reply soon. you mentioned internship program, is that the internship program done here in nigeria or home country or another one in canada??
hello madam ..this is naresh babu from india , present im working as a Hospitsl pharmacist in cmc hospital vellore.but now I want become a canada hospital pharmacist from india to canada ...i need your Guidance and your help madam .. please do some ....madam ...i will be looking for you response until....thank you
Thank you so much Temi this was really helpful yea. Qst ? What if you are currently in the uk how do you do all of these examinations and end up in Canada.
Yes you can! Like is said in this video, UK is one of the countries that has test centres for PEBC. Before enrolling, i would always advice that you sort out and decide on which pathway you would use to relocate to Canada. I have another series coming up in the month of April: Someone experienced in this field will be educating us on the different pathways to Canada relocation. I am sure you would find that helpful.
Great video, better than other RU-vidrs. I got a question, since which step we can work in Canada in order to pay all those cost? Can we work in other areas while being in the process? As a pharmacy intern, are we get paid? Thanks for your comments
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. You can start working as soon as you want to. You just have to be strategic about the kind of jobs you take; you want to make sure that you are not working a physically demanding job, to allow you time to study. As regards, payment for the cost of transition, there are lots of loan services that can help you with that: amazing interest rates and you don't even start paying back until you are done with your exams. As a pharmacy intern, getting paid depends on your employer: some pay interns and some don't.
Thanks so much for this video. More power to your elbow, and views to your channel. Ma, do I have to complete all these exams to cross over? or which is critical to moving over to Canada? while one can complete others on arrival?
Please can you make some videos regarding pharmacy technician and what are the procedure to pass those exams for expats who are registered in other nations.
Good evening, please i sent my application and other certified documents to PEBC as requested after payment of documents evaluation fee. I was also told by my University that my transcript had been emailed to PEBC. All these happened 5weeks ago, but to my surprise, my PEBC portal still remains unchanged, no sign of receiving any document. I wrote to them but they said that PEBC doesn't acknowledge receipt of any document, it takes them minimum of 6weeks to look at documents submitted, after which it will be posted on my wallet if what i sent are enough or i still need to send more. Please, i want to know if you experience the same thing during your documents evaluation period. I also want to submit my express entry application, which province is in need of Pharmacists or i should come in as a Pharmacy assistant. I am a graduate of University of Ibadan. I did my one year compulsory internship with University College Hospital Ibadan. I am currently working with Medplus Pharmacy Abuja as a pharmacist. I have 2.5 years of working experience.
1. As regards to PEBC: Please call them, this is still the easiest way to hear from them directly. It is possible that yours was received during exam season and that is their busiest time. 2. I won't say there is a specific province that needs pharmacists. You don't have to worry yourself about that, enter the pool first. Also, if you are below 30, you stand a very good chance. You ca. also explore PNP but you have to do the research on which province needs pharmacist.
Hi Temi, Thank you for the detailed video. I did my Mpharm here in the UK, but I didn't sit my ghpc exams, which means I have not practised in any Pharmacy related capacity. So in terms of applying for the PEBC....I can get a letter to prove that I have good record/standing. However, I have not practised. If I dont have this, can I still apply to for the license? Thanks
Yes, you have to pay for bridging programs. You can find the costs across different provinces on the NAPRA website as illustrated in the video. For internship: you may or may not get paid, it really depends on the pharmacy but more recently most pharmacies are now paying their interns (about 15 to 25 CAD per hour). It all boils down to the pharmacy and also the province; some provinces don't pay their interns.
Hi Kossy. Yes, the wait time may seem long. However, have you received the acknowledgement from PEBC that they have received your all the documents and have started the process? If yes, then the process should take 8 weeks although it may longer during peak season especially when exams are going on or results are being released.
Hi Temi, to bypass the bridging exams you meant in this reply. Does it mean you did your bridging exams in Alberta, and then wrote your jurisprudence exams in Ontario to get your license in Ontario? Please how can you help us with links or groups to join in for past questions and others in preparation for the exams. Thank you for your video it was helpful.
Thanks for your question. So, this is a summary for my journey. Because i passed both qualifying exams in one sitting (to the glory of God), i was able to bypass the bridging program criteria and do the PACE assessment in Ontario. To be eligible to bypass bridging program in Ontario, you have to pass MCQ and OSCE at first sitting (this was my category). With this question, i am going to make a video on "how to bypass the bridging programs" between now and march 2023 by God's grace.
@@healthcarewithtemi Temi thanks for your time. this is very resourceful and informative. as you bypass the bridging program because you passed the two qualifying exams in one sitting. when you moved to Alberta, what was the process like in getting your license to be able to practice there? is it just to write the jurisprudence exam or rather take us through the process of if one gets licensed in one province but decides to practice in another province. thank you in advance
Hello ma, thanks for watching. Does your daughter want to switch to a career as a pharmacist? I don't know too much about the pathways for pharmacologists in Canada
These documents you mentioned for document evaluation… including the one from PCN are all mailed? And what is the mailing address? Is it stated on the website?
They have changed the method of sending now. For example, the one from PCN can now be sent by email to desubmit@pebc.ca. I believe even the other documents can be sent via email but you can send by courier/post (preferably courier for easy tracking). Yes, the address is on the website. It is: The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC), 200-59 Hayden Street, Toronto ON. M4Y 0E7. Canada. please always remember to quote your PEBC Number in all correspondence!
Thank you for opening this channel and sharing this information. I'm an IPG and I'm thinking of taking the exams next year as I'm currently a student. Is the ielts academic or general
Thank you so much Tami! It was very helpful! Just one question! If I complete my degree in a province that doesn’t need bridging program and then change my province after being licensed, do I need to do the bridging program of that new province that I’m applying to?!
You said you move to Canada in 2019 and you started the licensure examination from first stage in Canada. Did you move to Canada as a PR holder or for the purpose of licensure examination. And what type of Visa did you apply for. Thank you and God bless you for this wonderful information.
You are most welcome!!!! So, I came into Canada as a PR holder in 2019 and i obtained to the glory of God via the Federal Skilled Worker program of Express Entry
Yes, the bridging programs are to be paid for; however there are available lending services with great interest rates that help with that. It's also important to know that not all provinces have bridging programs; i explained this when i showed how to navigate the "pharmacists gateway website". you can go through the website, you will be able to see the costs of the bridging program in different provinces and see the ones that don't have one.
Hello. Thanks for your question. Yes, you can. All you have to do is the Jurisprudence exam in new province you want to practice. For example, to bypass the bridging program in Alberta, I got my license in Ontario and then just did jurisprudence exam in Alberta which is where i reside. I hope this was helpful
Hi Temi, to bypass the bridging exams you meant in this reply. Does it mean the bridging exams you did your bridging exams in Alberta, and then you wrote your jurisprudence exams in Ontario to get your license in Ontario? @@_pharm.p Past questions for PEBC exams are illegal and usually inaccurate. As part of the exams, you have to sign an NDA to never discuss anything peculiar to the exam day or questions with anyone including your fellow exam takers. People have been barred from ever writing PEBC exams or prosecuted for circulating or even merely possessing what they tagged PEBC PQs. So, there are no official PQs for the PEBC exams. As for bypassing the bridging program, both Alberta and Ontario have bridging programs but Ontario is gracious enough to wave the program for any IPG that passes their QEs in the first attempt. So, Temi took advantage of that and went to Ontario to get licensed. She then returned to Alberta and converted as an already practicing pharmacist in Canada. This is because once you’re licensed in any Canadian province, all you need to do to practice in another province is to apply to the provincial pharmacy body and write their jurisprudence exam and then you get fully licensed. I hope this helps.
Thank you very much for the information shared. God bless you. Please I have obtained the NAPRA GATEWAY ID and proceeded to the PEBC for document evaluation. I did payment for the documents evaluation by PEBC but have not received the PEBC ID. Any help please would be appreciated. Thank you.
Is this still the status of the application? Someone went through something similar and he called them; they updated his PEBC ID on his portal after the call. Have you signed into your portal though? They just started using a portal recently
@@healthcarewithtemi yes please. I emailed the PEBC concerning the PEBC ID but was informed since it is my first time, the number would be sent later. Please a number to call concerning the PEBC ID would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and God bless you for your support.
Thank you, so much. i’m a pharmacy graduate recently looking to move and practice in Canada and this has been nothing short of a helpful and insightful guide
Thank you so much for the information Pls what advice can you give on how to improve CRS score using express entry route . With B. Pharm score is just around 460
Hi Victoria. Please watch this video that I made on maximizing the express entry route. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yxS4Eo4lLqw.html After watching it, please let me know if you need some answers after watching it.
So you can get your license in Manitoba without a bridging program unlike in Alberta. Why is this so ? Why do some province offer bridging programs and others don’t? Are there implications or you are only allowed to work as a pharmacist in Manitoba ?
Good morning sister Temi. Please I submitted my express entry profile yesterday, but to my surprise ,I got a message through my application status that I am not eligible for any program under express entry and my CRS point was even zero. Please, how can CRS score of a 25years old graduate of Pharmacy with almost three years experience be zero. My general IELTS score are : R-9.0, L-9.0, W-7.0 and S-7.0. Is it because I applied by myself? Can I apply through a representative? Please advice
I actually shared it on the screen while talking about it but because you took the time to watch my video and i appreciate you, i will list them here for you. Egypt, India, Palestine, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, Uganda, UAE, UK, US. I hope you find it helpful!!
Yes, absolutely. However, i must point out that it will require a lot of hard work because the student will be basically studying to achieve two different goals. An easier alternative may be to: 1. Start the PEBC exams from your home country (would advice to do your EE and MCQ there). 2. Come to Canada, pursue your masters and also prepare for your OSCE which is a bit easier to prepare for while pursuing your masters. I hope this helps
Good afternoon madam, since Pharmacist is not among the newly released needed health occupations in Canada ,but Pharmacy assistant is among. Is it possible for me as a Pharmacist in Nigeria to submit my profile in express entry as a Pharmacy Assistant since am not yet licensed in Canada. I am at evaluating examination stage.
Thank you for this information. Please, I want to know if with 10 months bridging program in Alberta, i will be entitled to 1 year PGWP. I learned that one can apply to college of pharmacy of any province after passing evaluation examination. Please what type of Visa will I apply for?.
This is one of the most insightful videos i have come across. Please how did you enter Canada? Like on what visa where you able to go in and comfortably write this exams. Where you on spouse visa or what dear?
@@healthcarewithtemi hi temi thank you for the information pls what score should one be aiming for ?? I tried checking my CRS score with having just my bachelor of pharmacy degree and was getting a score below 460 which seemed low .. was it the same with you ? .. pls can you advice on ways to improve my CRS score ?
Well explained ❤ Is it possible to get an admission into a masters pharmacy degree when you have an international pharmd degree ?? I don't mean practicing as a pharmacist but just getting a pharmacy masters in order to do research in pharmaceutical sciences.
Thanks for your question. Yes, there are definitely masters programs in the pharmacy field. You just have to check for universities that have school of pharmacies and then search from there.
I will be releasing another video where i discuss in great length on PEBC Prep courses. I will explain what courses i did and what to look out for when purchasing prep courses
So, the most busy times in PEBC are exam season: January, June, July, and November. Evaluation submitted at these times may take the entire 8 weeks to be ready. I recommend to submit right after these months.
Hello Chidera. Thanks for reaching out. For my EE, i went through a government (specifically Alberta) sponsored preparatory program (Direction for Immigrants). I did this together with a study group with serious minded people.
Hello. Applying for PR and the pharmacy exams arr 2 separate things. you can go ahead with PR application while you start studying for exams. if you want to know more on pathways to PR status, inhave a playlist on this that gives more insight. ru-vid.com/group/PLR5rqi5Uu57McCYw0bSnNMoSNivTrJgqW
I honestly believe that you can. This would be my advice. Complete the document evaluation before the masters start. This way, you are ready for the exam. Then, observe how your schedule is for your masters program. If you feel you can manage it, then you just go straight to applying for the exam.
@@healthcarewithtemi please can you help us with the materials used in preparing for the exams .also can the MCQ part 1 be written in Nigeria? Because I know EE can be written here
Hi Adaeze, thanks for your question. Materials plenty ooooo!!! You just have to be strategic about which one to use based on people's experience and how you study. Some common ones are Pharmachieve, Pharmaepass, pharmagate and honestly so much more. You can search them out online and see if what they have to offer works for you. EE and MCQ can be written in Lagos, Nigeria. The only one that can't is OSCE because it is a practical exam.
