let's just say sky has a weird standard cuz ikemen and ikejou means beautiful man/woman in japanese and yet majority of these coordinated outfits don't even... scream that....
ikemen and ikejou was borrowed from the Japanese sky community to describe the skykids that wear elder hairs and expensive cosmetics and the fire prophet pants (and the fire prophet pants ONLY)
With how diverse the sky playerbase is.. I feel any outfit really could land you as a ikemen/ikejou in the eyes if the right players [yes even the very silly ones]. So don't feel you need to dress a certain way to be seen that way, just dress how you want! 😊
When I started playing Sky 3 years ago, I adored Ikemens/Ikejous whenever I saw one. I also had an Ikemen and Ikejou phase myself where I walked around like that for a long time! I also loved watching the cool Douyin Sky videos back then! But over the years I realized that these outfits simply have no personality. They are like clones that walk around everywhere and I just find them boring now. Of course it's just my opinion and everyone can wear what they want and like! Please don't forget that you don't have to fit into any standard. Just wear what you feel most comfortable in
I used to wear all rhythm items back then pants, purple fur cape and spirit hair because it was my first season and I was very attracted to it for very long time until I changed to chibi mask, cat ears hair, racoon tail cape, and carrying plushies. Since then I started wearing cute/adorable gender neutral outfits and its my favorite kind of look right now :3
Fun fact? this "Ikemen" / "Ikejou" aesthetic of clothing is mainstream for the chinese community. (And I don't really mean this in a good way.) the not so fun part about it is that the majority of them obsess over it. If you aren't wearing something that's considered "handsome" or "pretty" in their eyes (said handsome/pretty being the ike outfits) you'll be facing clothing discrimination. The clothing discrimination in the chinese server can get pretty severe. It's to the point where people are buying accounts with these items just to fit in. It's been like this long enough to be talked about, I'm not sure of their current state, but last I checked I was in a server full of chinese players and they all wore the same aesthetic of clothing Every, or most of times, that you light someone with this kind of outfit - there's a high probability that's a chinese player. What disgusts me is just how much they care about looking good towards others ingame, and how judgmental the most of them can get when it comes to someone that does not meet these standards of theirs Even going as far as only referring to others as "Handsome guy" or "Beautiful woman" when they light you up I met quite a few that kept commenting on the "fashion taste of foreigners". Let me re-quote some of what I remember them saying, "What's with this weird-looking guy?" "That's an odd outfit." "Foreigners don't know how to wear samurai pants" (referring to fire prophet pants) "Foreigners only know how to make weird outfits" I really wish I could just tell them how sad their situation is. I'm sure you have something better to do than to judge someone's outfit in a game about socializing and adventure. If they like it, and they're happy, so be it. Leave them alone. There's no need to make such impolite comments. I have a chinese friend who moved away from the chinese server and joined us in the global sky server just because they've been bullied for their unique outfit taste and has had to deal with a toxic environment in the chinese server. I still feel really bad for what they've been through. "Beauty Standards" and "Sky" is not something I ever thought would really be put in the same sentence together. It's upsets me how that became a thing. Again, I'm not blaming the entire chinese community, just the majority that act the way I described. There are many, I mean MANY that are like that. I think this idea of "Ikemen" "Ikejou" "Handsome/Beautiful Skykid" promotes an unhealthy standard which could sort of push a player into wanting to fit in, or not feeling like their outfit is cool enough. I'm not saying you're not allowed to wear these kinds of outfits. If it suits your liking, go ahead. It's all your choice I'm just providing some more idea on its background and 'reputation.' If some of you didn't know yet, this lineup of clothing has become quite infamous especially in the global sky community because it's widely spread from douyin (tiktok, but mainland china excl.) Aaaand... they make thirst traps. Not very funny to me Yeah that's all. thanks if u took ur time to read it. Wear what you want, have fun
This was dang cool back in early/mid 2020 when douyins got popular but wow. Everyone's wearing it now good heavens, its been 4 years and they're somehow still not bored of it. My sorries to those who fell victim into this standard and abandoned their own likings to fit in
Omg and I thought everyone was super sweet in this game I didn't know it'd have a dark spot like that I'm so sorry u were made fun of for literally a freaking game costume!
As a Chinese player. I found most of the players who are pursuing these looks are teenagers. Who usually doesn't have their own aesthetic and always trying to “fit in” and become the “cool kids”. It’s a phase where most Chinese players have.
oh finally I see someone talking about this, that's exactly why I don't like Ikemen/Ikejou. I'm not going to lie, the clothes are really cool and pretty, but every time I meet one (even without having suffered discrimination due to my clothes) I'm afraid of being judged, I rarely talk to one, mainly because the look reminds me of an arrogant and narcissistic person, but most of the time they are kind and interact in a healthy way with me, but the others I haven't spoken to, I have a little uncertainty about them, I think "they would probably judge me". I'll be honest, I really don't feel very comfortable interacting with them, I often criticize this with my friends "they should only wear these clothes because of fashion and standards" but I know that not everyone is like that. Remembering that I don't want to criticize anyone, I'm just showing my opinion about them, not the clothes, but the attitudes of certain people who wear them. I apologize if I may have offended anyone, it is not my intention.
@@RiverinFront Teenagers indeed, I've also noticed. the most I've met were teenagers, some being as young as 12. It saddens me. I hope they learn to grow out of it eventually and know that it's okay to wear what suits your taste most
My experience has been "okay, I see these cute outfits, how do I get them? oh, it's a seasonal spirit item, seasonal spirit item, item that costs 40 hearts, IAP from a season 2 years ago, IAP in an event that won't happen for 6 months, and another seasonal spirit item"
imo i really like the typical douyin ikemen style because it looks elegant with its grey, white, black colors. ever since i started sky and saw those videos on douyin i was like “dang this is really my style”. i’m mostly not really a fan of colorful outfits so it fits perfectly for me. everyone can wear what they want in sky!
As someone who has been playing sky for 3+ years, seeing this video makes me so nostalgic xD things just never change x) I used to have a ikeman and ikejou phase a long time ago but as more cosmetics got released and I got more and more cosmetics from travelling spirits and all that, I slowly strayed away from it. I find you can still be an ikeman or ikejou if you incorporate other items which aren't from the "ike-wardrobe" and still look very cool and maybe have a slightly different vibe. In conclusion: I have way too many cosmetics to constrict myself to one particular style or vibe xD Have a nice day!
HELP EVEN THO IM A VETERAN I BARELY EVER PLAY LIKE ONCE A YEAR OR SMT BCS OF STORAGE ISSUES AND I WANT TO BUY SO MANY THINGS BUT IDK HOW AND STUFF IS SO EXPENSIVE 😭😭😭😭😭
you guys not following the exact items doesn't mean you cant consider yourself as an ikemen/ikejou, but the combination of the usual used cosmetics gives kind of a fancy/majestic vibe, so its nice to go with that when you're feeling the vibe, but believe me the more you try to be creative with your outfit the more new styles and fads gonna start so no need to worry if you're missing any of these standards:)
The Main Thing Is The Height, It's Painfully Hard To Get The Tallest Height. EDIT: BTW, The Tallest Height You Can Get Is 1.16m Right? (Without Spells)
That's the forest elder's hairstyle You have to complete the hidden forest and then collect some ascended candles afterwards to get it from the elder in (spoilers) Orbit
Tall looks cool because there's no body type to choose in sky cotl. Instead, the smaller your character is the chubby it looks. Tall characters are opposite. They're slim; wich is much more my style... I wish to see body types available to purchase from vanilla spirits... Imagine how different sky kids would look.
@@laxle_sky another late question, sorry -v-💦 Does the new pants on the next season (Season Of Duet) works too? Its ok if u cant answer, im looking forward to it. Note: Keep in mind that I only become an ikejou for fun and friends, not atrracting people 🌟
7:15 and 7:24 are both items you can get during the Halloween seasonal event. I think the one with the witch hat was $9.99, while the cat ears one was 44 candles
i used to dress like a typical ikemen/ikejou depending on what i was feeling at the time but now ive sorta? moved away from that. i do think i dress pretty ikemen-adjacent but i tend to wear less used cosmetics (aurora masks, aurora ult pants, etc) one of my favorite outfits ever has the mischief mohawk, withered antlers, aurora ult pants, seed of hope mask, and any of the season of abyss capes :D
“This pants is from the spirit of fire! I highly suggest you buy it if you do not already own it!”- me having been waiting for prophet of fire for 5000000 years 🗿if only I could buy it man
Those are from the Fire prophet traveling spirit. I don't know when they'll visit again, but I think the pants cost candles last I checked. I don't remember how many
If you use the potion that changes your height randomly, no! It's permanent until you use another height potion You can also still become chibi by wearing the hide-and-seek spirot's mask, and you'll keep your height when you take the chibi mask off
@@gimmedafrickinggun3651You're right! It's from the spinning mentor. Season of dreams was my first season, it feels so nostalgic when a TS visits from back then TvT
okay, sit down and listen, 'cause I'm gonna give ya information dump first! there are two types of emotes in sky: "regular emotes" also known as emotes for broke people "seasonal emotes" also known as emotes for middle class/rich people "traveling spirits emotes" also known as emotes for patient people who are also broke and an extra.. "event emotes".. ___ SO! regular emotes are emotes that you can get from realiving certain spirits that you find in the beginning of the game usually there are 4 levels of the emotes, 1 that you get for free-2 that is the lv1 but with sparkles or other effects-3 is a completely new emote with the same idea-4 is the same as lv3 but with sparkles or other effects .... there are (I think) 2 emotes that have 6 levels. the waving emote that can be found in daylight praire specifically in the 3 islands area, and the crying emote that can be found in hidden forest specifically in the jellyfishes area and it's in a cave. lv 5 are new emotes with the same idea, lv 6 is lv 5 with sparkles or other effects ___ SO! seasonal emotes are emotes that you can get from seasons in sky, those are the emotes you're talking about! ... before venturing into the seasonal emotes you gotta know what a season pass is. season passes are features that appear every season, they cost real life money (which is known as IAP/in app purchases), and they offer some good stuff! first, they can gjve a special pendant designed after the season's logo (those most likely will never come back after their specific season ends), and also some cosmetics that you can from the spirits of the season. so.. let's get into emotes.. seasonal emotes are the emotes some spirits offer in the season(there are so far three seasons with no emotes. shattering, revival, and nesting), and the same thing goes (levels wise) is the same as normal emotes.. with a twist lv1 is the one you get by realiving the spirit-2 is lv1 but with sparkles or effects and to tet them you have to purchase the season pass- lv 3 is a complete new emote with the same idea-lv4 the same as lv 3 with effects, and you need a season pass for it extra info: there is one emote that allows to press multiple buttons, that spirit is the hunter from the season of the nine-colored deer ___ before you know traveling spirits emotes you need to know what even are traveling spirits (this is a long lesson, bear with me).. traveling spirits are seasonal spirits that come for a limited time a while after their seasons end. they usually come back a year after their season, and the maximum amount so far was 3 years traveling spirits come back in original home and aviary home every two weeks starting in Thursday and their last day is Sunday, though spirits that come are randomized! if there isn't the spirit you want that's okay! just don't complain to others that do want the spirit HMMM... lv 1 of those emotes is free. lv 2 is the same as lv 1 but with effects and I believe it costs 2 hearts. lv 3 is a completely new emote that costs I believe 3 hearts. lv 4 is lv 3 but with effects, i think it costs 6 hearts??? the blow kiss emotes and boogie kid spirit are traveling spirits that came back last year, so it could be a while for them to come back! extra info: there are two emotes that allows you to press multiple buttons to pose a lot of poses. it's lv 3/4 emote from a rythym season spirit.. I don't remember which 🥲.. and the sparkle spirit from season of gratitude! ___ event emotes are simple.. and there is only one emote of that. the "cure for me" dance emote if you dunno, sky made a collab with a singer called Aurora in late 2022, and it offered iap stuff and spirits. now none of those is available but it used to (exept for spirits) in a certain event. there were tickets you could collect to get the "cure for me" dance~ it only has 2 levels, lv 1 is purchased with tickets, lv 2 is the same but with sparkles. we're done!
That's from one of the season of passage spirits... I don't remember which one. And the season was recent, so it might be a while until the spirits from that season return as traveling spirits.
