Either you mislabeled this tutorial or you don't know how to become more comfortable with charcoal. You spend most of the video showing different kinds of charcoal, and then papers. No guidance at all with "becoming more comfortable" with the medium.

Hi Felipe, most hard papers are smooth paper, but a hard paper is made using heavier pressure and heat. Not all textured paper are soft paper, the linen-textured writing paper is textured but hard paper.
Hello Mr. Yong Chen. When I wanted to start drawing I bought large Newsprint paper pads (18 x 24) but i did not start drawing with charcoal. Would you recommend this paper for practice only? I understand this paper is very fragile and will degrade with time, so I believe it is intended for practice only. If I want to create something more permanent I intend to try Canson cardstock. Would you recommend that? Some types of paper are very hard to get in my country. Thank you!
