Humanity has explored so much on the planet and outside of it but many are still rather hesitant to explore the realms of inner kingdom. *That's where the truth lies.*
Isn't it misleading to compare exploration of the outer landscape with the inner one? Exploration of our physical world is a collective feat of humanity, amassed during billions of lifetimes, while the exploration of the spiritual world is the opposite: arguably short, deeply personal, and abstract. They are too fundamentally different to be compared. I also think that the truth lies as much in the realms of the outer kingdom as in the inner kingdom. Interactions with the outer kingdom expose us to physical experiences that create spiritual reactions within ourselves, which we analyze in introspection. Therefore, the physical world indirectly gives us a truth -- we just need to realize it. Or am I crazy?
@@freya5902 Imo, there isn't "the truth" but multiple "truth"s. We discover them to piece together to form an imitation of the truth of our being, but we will never reach the real objective truth because we ourselves are not objective. We cannot ascend into the objective plane as all-knowing and all-seeing (as much as we would like to) because of the innate essence of humanity. We are in a sense chained but nevertheless empowered by being shaped by both nature and nurture, but we can try to reach it. Maybe that's our goal as persons: to possess an "objective" and "subjective" perspective of ourselves and the pieces of ourselves in others so that we are both logical, calculating, and emotional, emphatic. This is simplistic. Unlike Freud, Jung didn't believe the solution to our problems were set in the personal past, hence the archetypes and collective unconscious. This is a deeper more sΦphi(a)sticated psychology, no navel-gazing.
I’m so glad I am attacking these realization at an early age of 19 because I am really looking into common sense *which is not common at all* and morality.I woke up every day with the Thought of death, life, my consciousness, Myself and also the sensitive ego we have in ourselves. But what’s really making the future really promising is psychedelics because psychedelics is proving to humans that we don’t know anything yet, We still have a lot of wonderful mysteries to figure out about this world and the closest source to the answer is psychedelics like LSD or natural psychedelics which expands your mind, and makes you down to nature harmonic loving and also creative.
I had a near death experience when I was 21. That’s actually what started me on this journey. I do a lot of shadow work and yeah, this shit really isn’t easy but it’s so worth it. Embracing and living with your shadow side does do wonders.

Carl Jung is a blessing to my life, he made me start putting up the pieces of the puzzles which had been lost and suppressed over time since my childhood, I was a forced to be ripen emotionally and mentally of the situations, like a young fruit picked from the tree out of its proper time. And the results are so full of emptiness I had never known myself since then for 30 years of my life. I was believed to become a nice guy, but really I am a lost guy.
It is a painful process, unfortunately, but absolutely liberating. It also has a lot to do with the relationships we sustain with our close relatives. Despite being painful, the individuation process also liberates us from misunderstandings or resentments we could carry within ourselves. Thank you for the video!
I love your videos, thank you for making them. I feel like I have to opposite issue of integrating my femininity with our masculine selves, my father was not a very good role model for myself and my siblings, and as a result I didn't fully develop my own healthy masculinity and control of my aggression. Looking back I think that I never properly manifested a healthy control and understanding of my aggression because I did not want to become and reflect what I saw in my dad, which was his own unstable aggression. The result was I never stood up myself, or rather I never learned how because I was afraid of expressing aggression. Even as a now 30 year old, I have issues with, even small, interpersonal conflict and intimidation. That's where my work lies. I have no hangups going to a yoga class, expressing my emotions, even dancing; it's the classical "male" actions I have trouble with
Yeah this too i've thought of myself. My dad displayed some aggression and i believed i was nice, but the aggression was there in my shadow and has been coming out in the last several years. Ive smashed 2 tvs, 4 guitars, a laptop, 2 computers, and some other things i dont remember. Permanent damage to my index finger joint from hitting things. 90% of the instances happened when i was drunk. Edit; oh yeah,i stomped a door to the ground like the kool aid man, jerked a glass shower door so it broke in my hands cutting me, bleeding all over cuz the alcohol thinned blood. Pretty disturbing behaviour
Carl Jung knows how to highlight the duality mentioned in the Dao in the psyche of the mind so well that he's a literal treasure trove of spiritual insight despite his approach being more on the physical side of our understanding. It's crazy how much this is reflecting my own thoughts as to how people work. I think about it a lot. It's kinda fascinating how this stuff just clicks when you understand it. Kinda like its common sense, which i suppose it would be.
Great job Einzelgänger, i hope everyone here can understand in some way this concepts and be aware of it (at least try to experience it). In my case, it took many years go out of my majority unconscious state and the shadow was a determinant part of the process. Everyone has to know that we (the seekers) are in all parts of the planet looking for answers, my advice, just observe, all the answers aren't in a abstract way, many are hidden in the direct experience of life. Much needed video. I said once I'll say it again this channel is pure gold and deserve million of subs. I went through worst breakup few months ago felt depressed felt suicidal really needed something to get out of the illusion of suffering and then suddenly Einzelganger popped up in RU-vid recommendations and since then life changed on a serious note. This is the only channel which introduced me to stoicism and changed my perspective of life completely. Just keep up the good work brother. And literally you have saved my life. @@extra2ab I feel you buddy, I realized getting over wasn't much difficult. Just needed the little change in perspective of viewing the event and detaching myself from the person and situation. Check out Einzelganger's video on letting go of resentment it'll help a lot. Rest just give yourself some time you'll eventually heal. More power to you buddy. ❤
That last hurdle for me is bumping into myself... I see this being a cause of reincarnation, as self constantly sidesteps to another door to avoid a single infinity. I felt love for the first time when I accepted that loneliness, something told/reminded me it was there.. and to spread that feeling of being cared for seems to be my biggest challenge yet.
That other half of ourselves is a by product of suppressed emotions, triggers, childhood trauma, relationship rejection, cause and effect, the system's manipulation...to keep us trapped in the shadow. I've lived in it. I've healed through it. Becoming whole is remaining in the light, living a balanced life that adheres to the universal laws. Being morally true to yourself and honest with others at all times. But most of all loving and accepting yourself daily the way God loves and accepts you.

@@piotrwasiewicz8871 Being honest I could not say, they have all had equal worth to me. I would have to add though there is treasure in all of them, even if the language at times is old, unfamiliar, not a language I speak etc. Psychology and alchemy was most interesting and I did read twice and very probably will read a third time. Just finished symbols, and two essays. Two essays was very interesting and useful as a light read. These texts have been available for a very long time and I would say that its a shame that a great many more 15 to 20 something's don't read them as could, with just a touch of tenacity they are a gold mine.

Hey! Great video. Loved the visuals and overview of Jung's ideas. A, hopefully productive, criticism is that you didn't speak enough on the process of individuation and techniques one may go about becoming conscious of their unconscious. I believe Jung would say examples are: Introspection, Active Imagination, and analyzing your dreams. Thanks for your vids Einzelgänger !
I notice the world asking me what I want more often. It sees more in me, in terms of energy, than it saw before. I feel the world encompassing me and embracing me in a way satisfying. I not only have the pleasures of good times before, there is a unique new 'awakened' ability to vivify them. I see the open beautiful skies, I see the trees unobstructed and rivers flowing clean, I see signs that remind us of nature's sanctity and to not exploit the energy. My way of dealing with the new choice and freedom is not extremely rigid and forceful, I am still lax, however it's like a turtle emerging, I do begin to see myself happier, and able to Enjoy unique combinations and situations that I would create with my individual personality or harmonize with especially as the Individual, without necessarily being part of the public space. Its saying this to me privately, in the area of personal life, and its using a language of the soul that is not mundane at all, I am in touch with my own 'will' aspect, in a healthy and persistent yet not rigid way, the universe; a consistency for success even without rigidity.

I think explaining this quote and defining what true humility is, is going to be a good topic for your next video since we talk a lot about virtues in your past videos. Terence McKenna and Alan Watts talked about Jung in the 60's with better approaches and accuracy than Jordan Peterson ever did. Peterson possesses the cold bitterness of Freud in comparison with Jung.

Coyote thanks for the response! I know you said you don’t like him (I didn’t at first either) but I started watching multiple and full lectures of his and slowly became a fan. I consider myself an atheist/agnostic but I recently watched his 17 video long RU-vid serious called the “Psychological significance of the biblical stories” and was absolutely blown away. They’re lengthy but it gives him time to fully explain his thoughts. So along with the paternal and traditionalistic traits he thinks we should have, he speaks highly or at least equally of how humans need people, especially the young to push beyond the tradition or else humans wouldn’t progress. Too much tradition and theirs tyranny. Too much progress and there’s chaos. It’s incredible mental stimulation at the very least. You’d think the people in attendance would all be regions but it’s filled with “non believers” and people who lean on science, philosophy and intellect more than religion spirituality. Jordan finds a great middle ground for metaphysics and reductionism, in my opinion anyways.
theres nothing wrong with Peterson's interpretation of Carl Jung. Why? because Peterson doesn't wholly accept and live by ideologies. He has great reverence for Jung and his ideas, but he only adopts the ideas that make the most sense to him. He wouldn't consider himself a "Jungian" nor a "Freudian" or any other label. He synthesizes the works of great people with his own experiences and comes up with his own unique interpretation of the psyche. He's inspired by the works of Jung, Freud and Nietzsche for sure. But he does his own thinking. I think there's a lot of courage in doing that because it's easy to read Jung and automatically adopt his ideas and think you're smart. Jordan takes inspiration, but he owns his ideas.
@@ubbdaubermensch1528 I think your fundamental agreement with him comes from his background in clinical psychology. He specifically worked as a psychometrist and clinician. His work consisted of taking a large-scale problem from clients like "I want to stop playing video games and have more of a social life" and breaking them down into extremely hard, real, tangible rules to live by like: limit your video game use to x hours a week and go out x amount of times. Clinical psych is ridiculously practical. When you're solving a real world behavioural problem there's no room for abstract thinking. So when you hear him give advice in lectures, they have a strong philosophical background but he's used to breaking it down to practical behavioural advice. This is often to situate an individual in better accordance with society at large. That's probably why his message seems impersonal to you. Joseph Campbell doesn't have as specific a target audience as Peterson does, it's mostly people interested in myths which is a broad population. This is why he can send abstract messages that apply to all like "follow your bliss" But Peterson's advice is derived from years of working with people who are desperate for help and need low-level, practical behavioural advice. There's still a lot of abstract ideas to be unpackaged in his lectures. I recommend you check out his biblical lectures if you're into the philosophical side more than life advice. I'm also a big fan of Campbell's work. Love that guy and his Hero analysis. I think you would like the clip of Jordan breaking down the "rescue your father from the dead whale" archetype on Joe Rogan's podcast. It's only 7 minutes I believe

Integrating the darkness and other aspects of life is a very conflicting process. We will have to throw away feeling good all the time and take a good amount of time to reflect. Some incidents that happen in late adolescence can boost it, for example losing an important friend, or a breakup from a long term relationship. These are perfect opportunities for growth and realise the self that was hidden beneath all this time. It almost forces you to do so.
Thanks for the video. I think it is important to recognize that we are all good and bad which allows us to understand and forgive others. I've witnessed many people who only view things through a singular lens thinking they are 100% right, however, a change of perspectives is necessary for compassion.

Males and females spring from the mysterious force that governs nature... Namely: The masculine and feminine... Why separate the two in yourself, if you can incorporate and use both? They are in fact a whole.
Masculinity and femininity are just constructs and are a false dichotomy. But conventionally men tend to suppress what they consider feminine, and women tend to suppress what they consider masculine. If you reject this dichotomy, then so will your shadow.
I see the persona or mask as a tool that can help you achieve greatness. I don’t see it as a weakness or being “fake”. You should still be strive to be you true self. But use this as a tool to adapt to certain situations in life in order to get what you want.
Jung does not believe the persona is fake, only a social mask which is not the entirety of yourself. In Individuation when you go to the deeper layers Jung also prescribed the necessity of restoring your persona.
Individuation and Self Realization and spiritual awakening are all the same process. The process is archetypal and is baked into the psyche of everyone. The first task is to build a strong enough grounded ego. A weak ego won't be able to make the journey. The process won't even begin if your ego is undeveloped. Once a person reaches a certain level of egoic growth, they are ready for Self Realization. Self Realization is arduous and extremely agonizing and difficult. Integrating the shadow took me 12 years. The entire process took me around 30 years. It is the most difficult thing a human being can accomplish. Once the process starts, it is almost automatic and is controlled by the Self. The ego does not control the process.
I have usually dreamt often my whole life. After reading Jung, I have or remember the strangest dreams now. Most have been positive dreams. I even dreamt in Japanese once when I woke up looked up words I remembered from that dream and they were indeed Japanese. Has anyone been having more lucid dreams?

The Self is not part of the conscious and unconscious but rather the personification of our divine nature. It is, in an amazing way, free and independent of our childhood history or even our attachment patterns. It was discovered in the work of Richard Schwartz of IFS - internal family systems.

The Persona or personality is based in our unconscious and provides the initial answer to the important question ‘Who am I?’ It is made of many different parts like Parent and Inner Child parts, but is not our Self or divine Self.
Start with shadow work. The most easily identifiable shadows will be the ones you can dive into from observing your projections. Look at your negative projections. The nastier the better (because then you can start to find greater relief when you integrate them back into your personality). Part of the idea is to understand that you make a subjective experience instead of accepting the objective facts. When you find something that disturbs your ego, remember the last time you were that way. Then you can realize that you are actually that way too inside (this doesn’t mean it’s reflected in your actions though). An idea of shadow work and finding individuation is to be able to realize you are pretty much as much as a horrible monster as the next person, the difference is what action you choose to embark (through thought, words, and deed). This way you can start acting more true to your authentic self instead of blaming or judging others (which is usually conditioned from our society and parents and peer groups).
My 32 year long ordeal with the Unconscious is coming to a close, with a successful individuation, and integration of the Self. Without Jung and his works on the matter, it would not have been possible. I've always considered his

Can't achieve individuation. However we are motivated creatures in pursuit of an achievement/goal...so trying to master individuation, while being impossible to do entirely, would feel worthwhile spirtually.
In the graph, did you switch inner world and outer world? Seems to make more sense to have the persona closer to the outer world and the animus/anima and shadow closer to the inner world. Yes, even though Einzel did a good job compacting such complicated subjects into this 9 minute video, Jung's concepts need to be understood more thoroughly in order for this to make sense
A bit off subject but look into Dr. David Sinclair's research on longevity if u wanna have more time to reach whatever state of "perfection" you're going for. I think human lifespans are going to increase significantly in the following years. (The 7 Sirtuin pathways, Resveritrol, NR, NMN, Metformin, fasting, heat, cold, aerobic exercise)
