Chakra work, breath work, dream work are essentials after meditation & shadow work. Meditation on one's beliefs and values is crucial. I practice yoga, alchemy & gnosis consistently. Outer world is the reflection of one's inner reality.
meditation is easy when you let go of the pressure to perform. You'd be mistaken for thinking it's compulsory. Literally one minute of meditation can be the seed to a lasting practice...or not. Do it if you want. Discipline is not meditation. If you're forcing yourself to meditate then what the hell is that? It's not meditation, it's ego wanting something. Let grace bring you to meditation, not your ego.
I've wound up following the Chaos path. Take what works and leave the rest. Hebrew Angelic Magick; Words of Power; Sigils, you name it. And Tarot is absolutely the most insightful form of divination.
Tarot cards do help me so much. It gives me advice from the universe. Like quick advice. It has been for me I look at the divination cards as tough love advice.
Great vid! Here's my five tips to beginners: 1. Do breathing exercises. A lot of things could be done by breathing. 2. Open up your astral sight - but do it slowly and carefully rather than rush it. 3. Be careful in your contact with occult internet communities. Those can easily steal a lot of your energy. Don't open yourself up to any strangers on the net, not everyone is to be trusted... Keep silent about your personal practice except in very general terms. Be quiet and do not boast. Avoid toxic environments which will make you stray from your path. Don't engage in any magical warfare or duels whatsoever, no matter how angry you are. Do not throw wanton curses around you and do not mix magic with politics. 4. Stay away from any edgy practise promoted by modern, popular and charismatic occultist (except Georgina). 5. You're about to enter the deep mysteries, so you must be humble. On the other hand, you also must be daring and confident to get anywhere. You must find that balance. A 6th advice: make an altar with an image of Georgina in a golden frame, for your daily worship! You don't have to sacrifice goats, except on weekends. ;-)
Starting my journey with ocultism/Magick had been such a thrilling experience and frustrating one from my first exposure with one of the sigils from the goetia to learning I'm welsh celtic. And re discovering my fascination with Ancient Egypt. Doing this while being on the spectrum with moderate to heavy adhd has made it frustrating for my brain not retaing the info I read to just not understanding what I'm reading. But I'm pushing through it and learning so much and I do have your channel to help with it. Thank you so much.
Thank you for mentioning Jung!!! I’m a Hellenic Polytheist and Jungian and mainly follow the psychological model personally, but shadow work is so important to any spiritual path. I also just wanted to say that your content has been so helpful and insightful as I’ve been refining my own religious beliefs. There are much fewer active female content creators in occultism and I see you as a role model due to your knowledge of the occult. Thank you Georgina!
when u said something about being an armchair magician i went ☹️ LMAO ive been studying for like 6 years now and haven't practiced anything more than a couple simple spells and working on tarot because im so scared of doing something wrong. i feel like a lot of modern puritan type witches and magicians are so extremely cautious and act like you shouldn't even try it at all
Jung was the first to approach psychology spiritually. He was big on archetypes, deities, anima/animus, polarized energy, shadow work, collective unconscious, etc.
"Only buy tools you know how to use" - I just want to add, if you are able to, *make* your own tools instead of buying them, you'll connect with them differently if you are their creator, plus manifesting your own tools into existance is pretty cool :3
I confess that I didn't think much about the HGA promise at first, but when it happened, it took me by surprise. I only yesterday understood the event, which occurred as a dream last month. Many thanks!
There's a lot to be said for growing where you're planted when it comes to religion. Whatever you're born into is bound to have some kind of esoteric &/or magical tradition within. The relationship that side has with the more exoteric, fundamentalist side might be friendly or adversarial, but whatever general religious system you inherit gives you a grounding & spiritual vocabulary from which to work & branch out.
I agree with you in essence, but how would you apply this to people who weren't born into religion? Both my parents are atheist, 1 from a nominal Protestant background and 1 from a *barely* Catholic background. Neither have any particular metaphysical inclinations at all.
@@calvincase52 There's also something to be said for starting with a blank slate. Being born into White American Evangelicalism attracts me to Crowley & Thelema as a reaction against Puritanical religion. But the fact that so many of my Christian role models growing up outed themselves as basically fascist tends to sour me on religion in general. I often envy people who don't have that baggage. Whose spiritual inclinations aren't so wrapped up in reacting *against* something.
@@robertgoad7238 im from kentucky. I love learning about folk magick its so mixed with European tradition and shamanism . I have Irish ancestry my great-great grandparents immigrated to the Appalachians for work in the coal mines I also have Cherokee ancestry as the natives were in those regions before European settlers
Absolutely great. Covering a wide range of topics and good insights regarding each one. I was thinking another great thing to try early on might be to learn and recite a daily prayer 🙏 or a simple offering, lighting a daily candle 🕯 or burning a bit of incense. Keep up the great content!
You did an excellent job on recommendations for beginner practitioners are right along the lines of what the most important occult writers, most effective practices in mainstream orders suggest doing. That's what I did and definitely saw results each day from the beginning.
These are all excellent suggestions for anyone seriously considering getting into the occultism. Especially glad that you included doing 'Shadow Work' on this list. It is absolutely imperative that we work on our shit (our emotional traumas, unconscious programming and behaviors) prior to dabbling in real magick and the esoteric arts. 'Lease we cause more harm then good on our path to spiritual development.
I'm a bit late finding your content, but as someone who is slowly discovering my spirituality, and having gravitated toward ceremonial magick for a while, it's refreshing to see someone who is both level headed and knowledgeable talk about it. I personally think that you fill a noticeable void in the occult (rather than witchcraft) tradition for a content creator who well balances both quality of content and entertaining delivery. Your podcast Occultism With a Side of Salt scratches that itch even more so. I don't often comment on content I find here on social media in general, and I don't feel particularly unusual in that respect, so I feel comfortable speaking for a silent mass of eager seekers when I say: thank you. Also, your fashion sense is killer!
Also double check information and judge said information and chose what to do with it. I like to blend psychology and logic with spirituality because this mix keeps me grounded and sane. I fear if I'd throw away the focus on me as a part of the material world and a being that is influenced by the material world, I'd get into a spiritual psychosis. And a little advice on meditation start small and with an achieivable expectation: like calming down, checking in with yourself.
Great content! Wonderful video! I'd love to see more about Catholic folk magik - it sounds so interesting! Fingers crossed youd consider making some content about it :) 🤞
@@sparklingserindajrc what I said was not an opinion... it’s a fact because “there is no god” is the rational default position, and this position requires no proof as the null position is state 0 of any rationalisation procedure or as it’s known in science as the null hypothesis i.e. you can’t prove something doesn’t exist without first proving its existence prior to it not existing in the first place... in logic this is known as proving a negative which is a logical contradiction or more accurately a logical fallacy i.e. proving “nothing” is not possible... e.g. a blank sheet of paper is all white (nothing/not existing) UNLESS a mark with a contrasting colour (something/existing) is made on it, this means the sheet remains pristine and white (nothing/not existing) until the mark (something/existing) is made be it for hours or years until the paper disintegrates all together with no contrasting mark on it i.e. the default position of the blank sheet of paper is being white and pristine and this will remain so until otherwise. If one claims the sheet of paper is not entirely white, one then is expected to prove one’s claim as would be the case practically if you’ve ever purchased inferior quality A4 paper in the past and then tried to prove it to the Seller in order to get a refund for it... any other claim demands proof and the onus is on the person claiming it i.e. anyone who claims there exists a god has to also prove what he claims is in fact true, otherwise the statement is nothing more than a subjective “opinion” or to put it bluntly it’s nothing more than hot air... Even if the existence of a god could be proved (which is yet to come) one then carries the onus to substantiate which particular god out of the numerous gods it is. You see where I’m going with this? Trust me, what I said was not an opinion 😉 Also could you point out where exactly in my comment did I suggest or insinuate any kind of enforcing of my beliefs on anyone?
Thank you Sis. It is Truly Hard work starting off. But every day I find myself taking things more serious about My Craft. Thus for, it is my 1st video I've watched on your channel . You have my Subscription
You know what... if anyone who knows me reads this... I will vouch for everything Da'at Darling says. The only thing I would add is, anyone embarking on a spiritual journey is on a path to "better". You aren't good nor will you be - Good is the direction. Always avoid doing permanent harm to yourself and to others. The simplest example of permanent harm: wasting your own time and/or someone else's time. This lady is definitely not into that, neither should you.
Your outfits are so cool, I fucking love it when people have one item, color, or pattern that they wear every day - a general theme with all of their outfits. Your videos are really helping me out a lot. I've always been interested in religion and the occult, but its a really intimidating thing to get into. Your videos make it way less daunting.
i just asked for a tarot deck like two days ago for my birthday coming up and then saw this , im gonna watch all your videos ive watched like five so far and im blown away, your awesome
Excellent advice, thanks for making this video. I often tell others read everything and find what speaks to you or that you identify with. If it leads you away from the Occult, well...so be it.
How is occultism and magick related to "new age" energy healing (such as Reiki)? Many are put off from it because of it's money-making and goody-two-shoes reputation, but the energy is real and there is a history to it linked to Shingon esoteric buddhism.
Thank you Georgina! I feel like what you said really described practices I that have naturally gravitated towards. It seems like my path has chosen me more the alternative. It is very strange, and I accept it wholly. My reading the mortar, and the stone is the daily practice of which I'm setting the corner stone to build my temple of destiny. My art solidifies my intent in reality.
GESH! I WISH I could Do TEN Ceremonial Practices in an HOUR! Or even in just 1 day😂 I think she was being facetious, right?!?😉 🌟We LOOOVE her BRILLIANCE in her Discussions🌟
I’ve ordered the book of Abramelin and the book of the law, I am really attracted to concepts from Thelema and Kemet in my opinion it’s slightly difficult to find correspondences with western astrology and it’s very easy to get distracted especially for me as a occult practitioner who is into reading about Binding Demons I usually find my self frustrated sometimes because I place a lot of faith in the mage Abramelin and sometimes I can limit myself because I’d just be like. Well... The mage Abramelin said astrology is irrelevant basically but then I have to remember that other occult researchers may be more open minded to planetary timing. So yeah thank you Georgina for all the advice as opposed to tarot cards because my family kept making me throw them away but I’m living on my own now, I want a Crystal ball 🔮 and a black mirror thing. 🧐😄
i grew up in a christian family and am exploring spirituality. because of my christian background, this is very anxiety inducing and i’m very scared of doing something wrong. i am just starting with light manifestation spells and cleansing. does any one have any tips/advice? i’m honestly scared of doing something wrong and idk ruining my life lol
I did too and I’m not in any order or an expert in anything, just finding my way but understand that fear of delving into something you have been indoctrinated to believe is bad and gonna mess you up if you touch it. I found Neville Goddard very helpful as he used Christian terminology but gave it a new meaning for me (not magick per se) and watching videos and reading up on esoteric Christianity and Gnosticism etc until it settled in me that there’s other ways to interpret scriptures than exoteric Christianity. I still prefer working with things with Christian connotations eg Shem angels, lots of people seem to want to run away altogether and are totally turned off by Christian language in the occult but for me I find my subconscious is more comfy around language I am familiar with, like say those angels aren’t fluffy cutesy ones, they’re super powerful... but just the word angel over the word demon is easier for me to work with. I understand the anxiety, that’s what works for me and I became more comfortable and less scared when I realised the other ways the bible is used and interpreted. HTH... I’ve fringe dabbled for a few years now with things... not struck down or gone mad or anything, life isn’t ruined and far less frightened 😉
Depend on what path you take? If you’re gonna mess around with enochian or solomonic magick, you might be biting more than you can chew at first. You need to be well studied and practiced and have done great shadow work. Start with he basics: tarot, astrology, meditation. Do your research on paths like wicca, thelema, ceremonial magick, celtic witchcraft, and other pagan paths that might resonate with you. Study the history of the origins of things like Babylonian, Egyptian, Alexandrian and even jewish history of the Occult. Many paths are linked to similar origins.
Lol, alot of esoteric rituals from the far East Coast, and West in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as Egyptian magic have Charms, Rituals, and spells that are similar to the prayers you are familiarized with being a Christian.
Hey there! I just wanna let you know that I appreciate your content a lot! Would you maybe consider making a video explaining the differences between Theistic Satanism and LaVeyan Satanism ? Totally looking forward that!! xx
it's 2022 outside, kids like me must have started working on their own ideas for games. but me, i chose another path. i hope i won't mess up on my 1st day
Be very cool if you got in contact with Steve and Pauline Richards aka Jung to live by and did an episode with them. They'd be thrilled I'm sure. It'd be very interesting to see them interpret, in the jungian way, some of the ideas you're talking about on your channel. This is like psychology 101 from the ancients. Your channel is a true gem! I'm so thankful there's still people taking interest in these things 🙌
I would say the first thing you should do is research kundalini. Second thing one should do is research the dark night of the soul. Third thing one should do is really think if you want to be on a spiritual path, because it is forever. Once you open it up there is no turning off. If your still interested in the spiritual path, then research Raja yoga. That's really all you need.
Can you do a video on different paths or atleast good ways to research them Iv tried and tried to find information on them and the different ones but can’t find much or reliable info
Would you consider looking into Lyssa Royal Holt's recent video uploaded two months ago on quantum consciousness and perhaps providing your thoughts on the matter? I appreciate your videos greatly
Am I doing too much? I've been practicing for only 3 months, I do 30 min meditation a day if I have the time, both pentagram rituals, the middle pillar and liber resh and 7 beginner asanas and recently started doing ab exercises, am I going burn myself out? Seriously, is it possible to take on too much? And I don't want to cut back, I am starting thelemic unions 120 day course this week, maybe I'm just awesome?
Is there an online store/boutique that you would suggest to maybe purchase a beginner tarot deck? With the pandemic it’s hard to get out and find authentic stores and products. And I genuinely would like to stay with small businesses if I can help it.
Yo, amazing video! You should check out Mormonism, you’d be surprised just HOW MUCH poly-spiritual information is baked into that religion’s history! As much hate as it gets, it’s jaw dropping how good of a starting point that religion might be!
I’ve been healing my Shadow for years. I write a question with my right hand and write a response with my left or other hand. This method is from “The Power of Your Other Hand: A Course in Channeling the Inner Wisdom of the Right Brain” a book by Lucia Capacchione. Here is a link to dialogues with my Shadow/shadow components on the theme of power that I’ve edited and made into animated videos. I particularly like Powerlessness discussing Taoist philosophy! ru-vid.com/group/PLFh0vgBqg__y6UEZT_Z5GZCavRJEcjBfM
