Loaded 4,675 tons today with a twin boom 470 !! What a blast !! One truck on each side of me and one boom for each !! You have to be on your toes to run this Baby !
Just a fantastic video. What I like most, is that you are not working hard, you are not out of control in any form. You are actually nice and neat and smooth, and SAFE, but you are maximizing every single minute, and every ounce of truck capacity. I have had many, many excavator load-outs, and would have been well served to have the operators watch your video . Most points are obvious, but many are ignored. All told, the dozen points that you make probably add up to a 50 % improvement over good operators not paying attention to the little things. You talk funny, but you really are thoughtful in your approach. Thank you!!!
Some good points shown. For more productive loading however we've found to put trucks a little further out and use more stick out than boom up. Allows faster lift and faster bucket dump into truck (not so constricted) Also dig patterns 1st bucket from left of bench then in sequences of bucket width to right maximises bucket fill and breakout with minimal clean up on offside face. We make sure haul road onto and through lower bench is graded regularly. Allows trucks to move up in higher gear (faster) and we blow our horn as we slew just in behind truck when our bucket goes over tailgate. This allows 1st bucket into truck and return started before tuck is fully stopped. Saves heaps of time and trucky doesn't get the time to start reading his magazine before he's loaded and sent off again. (lol) Only ever seen one John Deere digger here in Australia. They seem to dig well by your video. Well done.
I like to keep them nice and tight but further back and not using the boom soo much like you said. Abs this guy's machine is squeaking and he's got about a 200 yard swath to throw back later
And if you have seen a Hitachi excavator in Australia they are identical machines except John deere uses a deere engine and Hitachi uses Isuzu engines. Other then the engine they are identical.
The company I work for has always had Hitachi excavators and they have been such good machines. We still got a ex160 lc that's got 40000 hours and the only major things we had to replace was the final drives center planetary shafts spline on the ends just got worn down from sooo much use it wouldn't turn the machine it would just grind. And the swing motors planetary gears and cage got all worn out. And the obvious bushings abs stuff. But i would recommend Hitachi to anyone.
BPC Earthmoving ...I don't agree at all. Its safer and more efficient to swing over the tailgate and keep your swing angle always the same. When you stop the trucks sooner, you have to boom and stick on different angles every time and instead of swinging over the side of the truck with a full bucket and slamming dirt on the side of the truck, your swinging safely and squarely over the tailgate. Also the more you stick out the less dirt you can hold. Your just wrong, this guy had great tips and he was set up just right. With his cab facing the trucks cab.
Only thing I do differently is the first couple buckets, I hold the bucket inches from the bed floor so the driver isn't bounced out of the seat lol. After you have the bed floor covered it doesn't jostle the truck near as bad when you djmo your load high like that
Meh, it's soft dirt and gently spills into the bed - total waste of time to lower that large a bucket into a 10 wheeler. The trucker gets far more jostled driving around on those poorly graded roads. A real high-ball operation would have a grader getting those roads smooth.
We all have our own idea, just read the comments lol on the fastest most efficient cycle times but there's always someone on the job that has their opinion and telling you how it should be done plus what kind of material is being loaded changes everything. Good video smooth operator and should be with soft material. We don't use our road trucks for off highway haulage for the simple reason of overloading, breaking or prematurely wearing out the steering, brakes, and suspension components, Which jepordize's the driver and innocent drivers on the roadways.
GOT A HOME USE KUBOTA KX008, WILL NEED 30" SMOOTH EDGE BUCKET. SELL COMPOST, CAN CLIMB 5' TO 6' FT PILE 60+ YDS. SEEMS MOST PICK UPS ARE 6 FT OR LESS BEDS. HAVING PROBLEM LOADING 6 FT TRACTOR BUCKET. GOOD VIDEO.
Very Smooth and 1 minute load times.. could be faster, but that's a pace you can carry all day and be easy on the machine.. My best day I was running my 08 ZX200 along side a competitors 450D.. I have a 6' 2.25yd bucket and I was able to match him truck for truck against his 4 yd... I was able to get trucks in a position where I didn't have to swing more than 8-10' and I have a few more hours under my belt than the other operator.. I was able to kick out a 13yd truck in 45 seconds, BUT in doing so I worked the machine so hard I got the hydraulic system too hot and I have been replacing seals on cylinders ever since.. ALMOST worth the mark of pride though haha.. Nicely done sir nicely done!
In Canada if the truck is involved in a runaway or rollover crash, the police will come and see the operator who loaded the truck aswell as the driver after they scoop up the spilled load ,put it back in the truck ,tow it to a weigh station and print out a scale ticket
Great video. Several good pointers, per the grading between trucks, when to beep horn on last bucket, keeping your loading platform flat, and maximizing lease trucking. Opinion: your trucks are getting a bit too far forward, need less swing angle, gain a few seconds minimize swing time. However, I have seen worse. You know what you are doing. This video should be utilized for training. Thank you.
Good feed back. The reason for the truck being so far forward is cause the bucket is so wide on the 450. If the truck was back more there would be more dirt falling off each side of the truck. well noticed.
@@desparkinson9203 No need to be unduly concerned about material falling over sides if those buckets are kept full and it allows faster cycle times. In this instance, he was wasting time uncurling the bucket when he could stick back at the same time to speed up emptying the bucket - that said, truck spacing allowed him the extra time - I'd add another truck or two to speed things up - there was always a few seconds wait time and a few seconds inefficient loading time. Could get another 5% efficiency gain which is pure profit. Ideally, there should always be a truck waiting to ensure the excavator is always working - trucks are almost always cheaper than the excavator.
Chris Henry must be a very long haul circuit -twice as long as yours, or his bucket capacity must be twice as big as yours, or his trucks are half the size or less than yours. In this game size does matter lol
Lots of good info in the dialog however you are missing a few key things in your actions. Get yourself away from the trucks a bit so you can dump with your stick, stop the trucks sooner so you don’t swing as far, take your first scoop between trucks on the furthest right, stick out as you return to the cut.
Looks like ya trucks getting a had time driving over ya last swipe of the beach, get it cleaned up and production will, ya milking it, give him more trucks
