a pair of kleins and a tie wire reel is 1000% faster in the right hands. And those vertical dowels should go in the inside of the bands. At least that's how the structural engineers design them for buildings and such

What are the name of the bolts used to tie the tie wire? I know you said counter sunk bolts which comes factory but curious if u drilled the holes yourself? Thanks in advance

a local soccer post in a local green area kept falling over, I grabbed a bit of old rebar bent it around the manhole cover and whacked it into the ground, it worked a treat :) The lawnmower guys not going to be too happy though :)

I've worked in construction for 9 year's. Not once have i seen or been thought this faster and easier method. Thank you for your humbleness and teaching your way of bending rebar God bless you. : )

Coming from a country where reinforced concrete can be called a tradition. Making the rings was no surprise. Almost every construction site has a rebar bending table ad hoc built! But I loved the trick to twist the wires. Not that it would "work" on a professional site! But for my amateurish needs is just perfect. ;-) Cheers

I don’t see why you need twenty twists on a single wire wrapped once around a Re rod.

​@@walterkersting6238 I mean when you can do 20 in less time then 3 by hand... why not? You have to admit it looks pretty clean (at least to my amateur eye) I guess more wraps would be better than more twists though? maybe that's what you meant edit: grammar

Yea just flick them out with the flicker machine at the emergency room they actlly have a machine that does that I know it happened to me when I was welding

He should get a face shield. The last time I had a shrad picked out in emergency I got a bill for $800. It took less than a minute and 10 days wages to pay for it. US health care.

This is *exactly* how I -- and everyone I know of who needs to -- make rings for chainmail. We put a 3/8 steel dowel into a variable speed drill and then wind the wire around it. It makes a coil or spring, and then we cut the rings off.

Thanks Lily...I try! The hue gourds we made look as new still at the landing site... children love climbing on them, and rabbits graze around them as I noticed on Sunday when I visited.. tge doglets were very excited!

I work with metal a lot. Thanks for the video. I will use your technique. I made a cage to surround my tent when I camp among mountain lions and bears. It is made of re-bar surrounded by hardware cloth like you have done. Yes, always wear eye protection.

Having done this myself before, I can say it works ! If you do feel any irritation be sure to see a doctor ( having been to a ER in the middle of the night for the same issue before).

Maaaannn, I feel like a dummy for never thinking of this. Ive had such bad luck over the years with metal in my eyes, even wearing safety glasses. At one point I was even considering if some plano contacts might be the ticket. A couple times I didn't have much for cash, as in a Dr visit, and was able to catch and drag it out with a fingernail. Thank you so much.

Very rarely, but sometimes you can remove steel from your eye with a small magnet with a tissue over it. It's always worth a shot.

A quick note...if you work with metal (ferrous) put a sticker on your i.d. "works with metal". That way if an ambulance finds you unconscious they will NOT give you a MRI. (The magnetic fields will do a lot of damage to your eyes)

My son in law has a ferro keeler...old and good. Sailed the south Pacific in it. I have an excellent book by the Hartley boat designers who did ferro designs in the 60s I think... it is probably out of print . I'll look... Have you seen my www.fantasticferrocement.com? I will look at adding a section on ferro boats.
