Had mine holding up snowmobile front for 6months and now will not CLOSE (stuck open)! P.S will not close even with weight applied(goes down and inch and then stops)!

Mine stays open as well and won't go down... I even unscrewed the lock totally to bring it down, but no amount of pressure will bring it down. I've tried bleeding, still nothing works

as I was sayng - beyond that widespread lack of major important information, although I guess one should not fill oil from release knob(jack upside down) BECAUSE it’s not to be overfilled that-is.. STILL as air goes upward, why does any & everyone bleed air from filler plug, when that’s only 2/3’d up, but release knob upside down is all the way up?

Hi there! That's a safety plug put there by the jack's manufacturer. The purpose is to avoid over pressurization of the jack.

Hi there! That's a safety plug put there by the jack's manufacturer. The purpose is to avoid over pressurization of the jack. There's no need to interact with this component.

Should you bleed your jack when you first buy it?
@SafeJacks
@SafeJacks 3 года назад
Hi Jonathan, The necessity for bleeding your bottle jack will become apparent once you begin using it. Often when a bottle jack is shipped to you, the sideways orientation and shuffling of the package causes air to get trapped and the jack will not work correctly. If your jack will not support its rated load, seems "squishy" upon lifting, or won't lift at all, then a good first step is to bleed it. So in other words, it's not necessary until proven necessary. We hope this helps! :)

Is there a diagram that shows where the air gets trapped? What is inside the jack?
@SafeJacks
@SafeJacks 4 года назад
While we don't have a diagram of our own to show you, Tec-Science has a great visual of the inner workings of a bottle jack. www.tec-science.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/en-liquids-pressure-hydraulic-jack-components-parts-1024x576.png This doesn't specifically show where the air gets trapped but here is a brief explanation: When a bottle jack of this style has been stored or used on Its side for instance, there is a pocket of air where hydraulic fluid in the reservoir would normally be. This is where air can find Its way into the pump piston. When the jack is used normally again and the handle is pumped, this air is being moved from the pump piston, through the system, and under the power ram. This combination of air and hydraulic fluid moving the ram is what may make the jack seem "bouncy" or "squishy" when supporting a load. We hope this answers your question!

I thought there was a procedure in purging where you pumped the jack all the way up and continue pumping for a few 10-20 more times, then you turnit upside down opening the release screw and after fully closed while its still upsidedown tighten the screw and burp it right side up thtough the fill hole.. is that wrong?
@ezwa9979
@ezwa9979 Месяц назад
question, since air goes up(btw, no one seems to say if or how much air SHOULD be in there), jacks say ‘don’t overfill’ which implies that some air SHOULD BE THERE. but anyway, beyond that widespread lack of major important information - cont.>

First of all, thanks for the video. Second: I recommend you include a written advisory with every bottle jack shipment encouraging new owners to view this video (or whatever written instructions you choose to start including in the shipping box). Third, after doing literally what is recommended in this video, my brand new Omega still is not working. I am hoping that following the more complicated instructions in the following video will get my jack working: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pQ16MCxv_7A.html

Hi Raphael, We're very sorry to hear you're having this issue. If you purchased the jack through Safe Jack, it's our priority to help you and determine where things went wrong. Each and every jack we send out is tested to confirm working order, as part of our pre-shipping process. If this is the case and you've tried everything to get it working, please contact us by email (info@safejacks.com) or calling 1-800-627-8088 for information on our 2-year warranty. If you didn't purchase the jack through us, it's possible there still may be an included and valid warranty, depending on the date of purchase. Omega jacks include a 1-year limited warranty (found on page 7 of the user manual) here: www.shinnfuamerica.com/Owners%20Manual/10065B%206TonSidePumpBottleJack/2826 allowing for repairs or replacements without charge when the jack fails to work under normal usage, due to defects. Thank you and please feel free to contact us with further concerns, comments or questions.

If you ram won't lower, go through the steps of bleeding your bottle jack to see if you can get the ram to move. If that doesn't work, give us a call.

@@SafeJacks what happened was i wasnt putting weight on the jack. Before you lower it try putting your own weight on it. thats what my problem was
