What you described on the plugin features: commenting, without needing to put your name and e-mail and in incognito/not logged in: then comment + name + e-mail address thing. That is what the core/native commenting system does. In the settings of WordPress there is an option to add comment moderation. So if core options have that feature, why would I add extra files (the plugin) to do something that it does in the basic/core package?
Yes, but core has no built in filtering of spam. It simply lets everything through. The point of this plugin is to replace the need for something like Akismet. At least, that is my understanding of what it’s intended to do.
Agree on the layout control that would be needed however, I am sure one could do a bit of CSS to fix most of those issues though. will definitely test this one.
This plugin is awesome. However, I have an issue. I have enabled the nested comments in wordpress but they dont seem to work. Anyone know how i can fix this?
Not really no. The standard WP commenting system has no filtering built in. That’s why you’d use a service like Akismet to handle the spam. This plugin is supposed to be using their own variation of filtering.
I think it would be better if the visitor confirms his comment by clicking the link received by email. But if the tool has a list of spam addresses and accumulates it, then it can automatically mark it as spam
Well, I was referring to asking for name and email address. There are other options, of course. But in this case, I didn't really understand why you need an email, if you just enter any and no one checks whether you entered yours or random one
@@donatasp. true!! I believe most companies use these email addresses to send out newsletters, etc. Some parts of the world have better privacy rules then others. Unless you are using the email address to send the link to verify it really is just another 'tool' that can be abused / used to create spam reports from different email accounts.
