Hi, may I ask if there has any way to block a device without using the MAC address? The blocked device can still configure their wifi privacy by altering their MAC address. Kindly answer plsss
I have a question. The method shown is REACTIVE and in that I mean, it requires for first a device to be connected, then MAC is copied, and then it is BLOCKED. What configuration steps would allow for this scenario? 1. I want to WHITELIST a set of "known-in-advance" MAC address for devices 2. I want configuration to be such that NO NEW DEVICES can connect., i.e.: even if I do not know their MAC addresses. What can I do to enable this situation? I need to BLOCK in a PRO-ACTIVE manner so that any new device that needs to connect, I need to know first in order to allow it. Note: I am asking setup for the same device type.
For this, instead of blacklisting, enable the whitelist option and add the MAC Addresses of every device you want to allow to use the network (for ex: your phone and laptops, other family member's devices). What this will do is allow the network to be accessed by only those devices whose Mac addresses has been set up. Any other devices whose mac address is not listed wouldn't be able to connect to your network.
hi, thank you so much for the information it really helps but is devices are more than eight it fails to block ....so how can you increase the number of devices to block.... can not wait for your reply

i just found a fix, if the device is connected to 2.4ghz and it is set to SSID is 1, you need to change it to SSID1 on Wifi Mac Filtering. but if they are connected to 5ghz that sets in SSID5, change the wifi mac filtering to SSID 5. hope this helps.
