Yay, this has always been my favorite flower. I love the white ones and I have seen them be fiery red too. There is something beautiful about the simplicity of these flowers.
Awesome drawing instruction. Please do not add music while you are giving instruction. Those of us with hearing aids cannot clearly hear you. Hearing aids Amp all sounds. Thank you.
Just found your channel, love the video so far! The transfer method is the one I use, and it is a great method! Anyone with even a lighter 2B pencil can do it, and it is much cheaper than carbon transfer/tracing paper. I want to share new techniques and products I have been using for this transfer method with you and anyone else watching. In addition to darker graphite pencils, I have recently started using water soluble graphite sticks. I use it dry without water like the regular graphite pencil. It is bigger/thicker, can be used on its side if unwrapped, and can cover more area faster and with less pressure than a pencil. For me it works faster and is cheaper than using pencils that have a tiny stick of graphite inside wood, especially on bigger and more detailed drawings. Another technique I have been using is covering a separate sheet of paper with the graphite stick and using it like carbon transfer tracing paper and I reuse it multiple times instead of putting graphite on the back of every drawing I want to transfer. I use my graphite sticks for drawing and painting with watercolor, not just transferring drawings-they are very useful to have in an art supply kit!
Wow, some of the best instruction I’ve seen in RU-vid, and in the 5+ years I’ve been doing this I’ve seen a lot of them. You’re covering beginner, intermediate, and advanced techniques all at the same time. Well done you! Would appreciate knowing your brand of detail brushes, and your watercolor paint brand. Blessings dear one and thanks from a new subscriber.
So glad you've enjoyed it! I have a mixture of brushes including the Princeton velvet touch brand and the artists loft Vienna brand for detail. I use both winsor Newton professionals watercolor and Daniel Smith. 😊
Excellent way to start & love watercolor painting but when comes to drawing (hears it’s a skill) but feel some got lil more at birth as so far circle turned into a donut!
Why use the 6B pencil as opposed to using a light color chalk pastel? Wouldn’t you want to use the chalk instead because it will blend in with the paint, and you wouldn’t have any lines showing when finished?
If you used chalk pastel then it would smudge and contaminate your colors when you added water. You could use a water Soluble pencil or a watercolor pencil to transfer instead if you did not want the lines showing. But also since this painting I was showing my class how to add waterproof ink pen to outline the flowers then it covers the pencil anyway.
If your drawing skills put you off painting, just buy a light box - they are very slim, so easily stored and not very expensive now. Saves a lot of time
