After I boiled my water & make my formula, I immediately put it into refrigerator, or should I let it cook down to room temperature ?

When sterilizing the water or boiling the water if i let it cool down does it kills the prebiotic in formula? Also if i use a filter water like the brand Zero Water Filter or any type of filter do i still boil the water?

Yes. I buy so many gallons of water already sterilized and as I go through them I boil water and fill them back up

Dutch Hipp and Holle formula have instructions to let the water cool to between 104-122° F. Is that wrong? I assumed it was to preserve the probiotics. My baby is almost 1 year old so so would that be okay?

Please help me. How long after boiling water do I wait to start making the formula? And how do I cool prepped bottles to put in the fridge? Thank you

I know this video was made quite some time ago and I hope that you see this comment! Does this still apply today? We use Holle Goat Milk formula and the box says not to 'premake' formula. Do you worry about that? Thanks so much :)

Oh, boy, laughing at: "if you're a normal person, do your best", lol. Thank you for keeping it real. There's so much pressure out there to get it right, I love that you remind us how to be practical. I love and appreciate your videos. Thank you!

Are we boiling the water for the safety of the water or to kill bacteria in powder formula? I’ve read about some people using purified water or distilled water, but does this kill bacteria in powder formula ?
@Carla-jl1mu

Both but it is to kill bacteria in the powder.

Hi, this video is very useful but I’m still very confused (I hope I don’t seem stupid). I’ll be starting my baby on powder formula soon and I want to make sure I do everything right. So once I boil the water can I let it cool in the pot I boiled it or do I have to pour it somewhere and cover? Also about the temperature of the water I don’t have a thermometer and I don’t want to make a lot of formula for the day. I just want to have the water ready for the day and then mix the powder at the time of feeding so what do I do in this case since you mentioned that if it goes beyond a specific temperature it won’t kill the bacteria. The same goes with when I’m out for like 6-7 hours. What do I do with the water? I hope you can see my comment and reply. Thank you!

Will placing the formula into the hot boiling water after kill off the vitamins and minerals as well?
@lizamarie3472
@lizamarie3472 2 года назад
Yes so you wait for it to cool down to 175 degrees
@chelsiemorrow1735
@chelsiemorrow1735 Год назад
So question! Could we use distilled water, and heat the water in a bottle warmer before adding our powders formula into it? Would that be just as effective as boiling the water?

The reason to boil the water is to kill bacteria in the formula not in the water. She explains this at 2:00 in the video. So you must add formula to heated water to kill the bacteria.

Please need advice regarding what formula can be recommended to help eczema
@BabyFormulaExpert
@BabyFormulaExpert 5 лет назад
Hi Tammy, there's great research to suggest that partially hydrolyzed formulas can help with eczmea. Also certain probiotics have been shown to help eczema in kids. Ask your doctor if either of these approaches might be right for your baby.

Does sterilizing formula kill the live culture probiotics?
@BabyFormulaExpert
@BabyFormulaExpert 5 лет назад
YES! it does. So if you need to sterilize your formula and want a probiotic, then you need to add it after the sterilization, before feeding.

@@BabyFormulaExpert after boiling the water i let it cool down to 175 and then mix in the formula will this also kill the vitamins and probiotics and prebiotics of the formula? If so then at what temperature i can let it cool so it wont kill these good stuff of the formula and its not so cold for baby to drink for newborn.
