I personally think it’s more about your practice quality and positive reviews from clients than specializing in a certain area or disorder to grow your practice. Thanks for the video!

I completely agree that word of mouth is the absolute best marketing tool - but some of these tips might help with getting those first clients through the door! Thanks for your comment!

Wow , I have never met a Swedish psychologist who had - or used - any structured, goal-oriented and verbally agreed-on problem-solution strategy -/plan and - methods. I am frustrated and grieving my lost 49 years searching really individual and efficient therapy. You are so right about the motivation to find the means to pay the full fee when there is real hope for success and life-saving progress towards or healing. Excuse me for being here despite not (yet) being a therapist.

I do offer free consultations. A person can come in for 20 minutes to see how I work. After twenty minutes they can go and think about it, or stay for the rest of the 50 minute session and pay. I've only had this person ask for the free consultation, and they stayed, and are still coming. It's very difficult to make a decision for a person to make. who will they go to and share their life story with. This person had a very poor few sessions with someone, and was afraid of having a similar experience. They're still coming, and are full fee. so it was very worth the 20 minutes. You make a good point in that one size isn't for everyone. I'm happy to do a 20 minute session to help someone feel comfortable.

That's definitely the biggest advantage to offering the free session - and I like how you mash it up so they have the option to stay longer. One option to make potential clients feel more comfortable with coming in is to make your marketing materials and initial email/phone contact super clear. That way potential clients feel like they already know what to expect before committing to meet in-person.
