How I do my ball is simple and it costs probably a buck or two 1. You can brush the ball with an electric toothbrush to get almost a better look 2. Get any type of shaving cream and put about a thumb sized one on each panel, rub it till the football starts to absorbs it. Let it sit 5-6 minutes. 3.then, brush with the same electrical toothbrush 4. This is optional but you can use hair conditioner if you don’t have a leather one. Let it sit 40-50 minutes and blow it with a really hot hair dryer. Let it sit for 1-6 hours. 5. You can buy the 35 dollar mud or use some from outside. Use until it covers the football whole (except laces and stripes) 6. After 10-24 hours, brush the mud off with a stiff toothbrush (don’t use the same one from earlier) until it is your ideal color you want to have it at. 7. Ask a parent, friend, or family member to play catch with it or run some drills with someone 8. If you notice it changing back to the bright colors as it use to (rare) then repeat the whole process or mud it again
I got my GST 3 days ago and have played catch with it once. Would that be classified as “broken in” or could I still use this process to break it in without any negative effects.
@@franchiseclark idk if you still need an answer to this, but after doing this myself and learning from others, the best amout of mud is just enough that you can't see the leather, but any logo on the ball is just barely visible. don't worry about fucking up the logo, they're sturdy and are made to take abuse.
@@kendalljenner6524 still won’t really be the same I tried mud from outside on the first duke I ever bought it took a couple of times for the color to change and it wasn’t dramatic it was a light brown color I used it a bit and broke it in then I decided to buy the Lena Blackburn rubbing mud and it turned it the black color you see in the video
@@christopherlee8 idrk, I used mojo and I let that sit and then put the red river on. First impression, it was glued into the opening so i had to cut into the bottom and the bottom was metal so I had to melt it.Then I put the red river on for an hour and it barely changed colors then the sand will be stuck in the ball for sometime and I hope you are using 2 brushes because if you aren't, you are done for.
Type in Lena Blackburn baseball mud. It cost me 35 dollars after shipping and taxes. Kind of makes you feel like an idiot spending so much on mud lol Or Big Game USA also has mud for a few bucks cheaper
How To Break in a football 1: brush lightly for 2 minutes on each panel 2: apply shaving cream on each panel and let it sit for 5-7 minutes try not to get it on the laces or stripes 3: brush off shaving cream with the Wilson brush *don’t use a shoe brush* 4: apply Lena Blackburn mud on each panel try not to get it on the laces or stripes and let it sit for 24 hours 5: brush off the mud with the Wilson brush 6: apply tack bar and brush it in the ball *OPTIONAL* 7: go play with it! 7
