the reason we break motors in under water is to increase the contact patch of the brushes on the stator, the motor being faster isn't true the motor is just running more efficient than it could with out the brushes broken in. always use distilled water as tap can have too large of particulates.

You can really see the graphite from the brushes in the water after you ran the motor for a bit. I have never taken the time to do this but I can tell it helps from your experiment. Nice work. 👍

Thanks, it does help. Ive only did it if I want to keep these RTR motor for my Tamiya build. These 12T motor are sweet spot for Tamiyas👍🏼

It does help to run a motor in , but not done it for years as I run on my own so the extra power not really needed.

I don't do any run in for stock silver can motor. I only did it for some of these 12T 550 motor that I got from RTR. They are great motor and sweet spot for any Tamiya build, hence looking after them and keep them for my next Tamiya build👍🏼. Thanks for watching, much appreciated🙏🏼

@@MechanicallyFun always use distilled water when breaking in motors. been doing this for thirty years.
