How to Breastfeed in a RING SLING | Adjusting your Sling to Nurse | Upright & Cradle Positions

Learn how to adjust your baby sling to be able to breastfeed your baby or toddler in both the upright and cradle feeding positions in a ring sling. Laurna also addresses safety when nursing in a sling.
When breastfeeding in a sling ensure that your baby is able to latch on and off. Therefore you should not cup their head with the sling fabric, you should use your hand for head support and respond to your baby's cues if they want to latch off.
If you are nursing in the cradle position, with your baby laying horizontally in the sling, ensure that you return them to an upright position when they have finished breastfeeding.

Love this! Im not going to give up! Its been a bit tricky getting it consistent but i enjoy it so much and i can really tell when my baby is comfy because he falls asleep! Your baby is so cute ❤😊

So helpful and so sweet! Very thorough and I love that you demonstrated with your child and an actual feed. I didn't need to nurse on the go much with my first but I do with my second and he is a big boy so being able to nurse with the sling is going to help me tremendously. Thank you for making this video! I had a hard time maintaining breastfeeding my first and he truly did not like being worn. I’m due with my second any day now and this time around I have a ring sling which I’m hoping will help with bonding and nursing as well! This video will be so helpful!

What a good, informative tutorial! I’m using ring sling again with second grandchild now when I help out. I remember using for my son 24 years ago and I use to bf him in our sling in position you demonstrated, but didn’t switch sides like you did. At least I can’t remember if I did. Also, great tip using tail tucked for extra support. I never thought of that!

Awesome video! When I’m loosening to breastfeed and then re-tighten to lift baby back up, the top and bottom rails are getting twisted. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Cali, Do you mean you are getting the fabric twisted and caught in the rings? If so - feed the slack (any loose fabric) round to the ring, hold it in place and then tighten strand by strand through the ring using small movements. The fabric tends to get caught and twisted if you try to pull too much through. You could also support under bum and lift baby up while you tighten as that should make it easier to re-tighten. UGH I can't even use a ring sling let alone breastfeed in it (doesn't help that I don't have small breasts). You make it look so easy :*( And you and him are so sweet together! I guess I need to just keep trying. I'm stuck in sidelying with my daugher and I'm lucky she's my first, but I really need to figure out how to be more versatile. Such beautiful videos, I appreciate how helpful these are, even if I am totally challenged and cannot get it together myself yet.

Hi Carly, focus on learning how to use the ring sling first and then think about using it as an aid for breastfeeding. It shouldn't matter that your chest is smaller, you just need to adjust it to the right height for you both.
