I don't know, but my male swordtail was aggressive to his tankmates and constantly guarding a pregnant female swordtail. He chases out the mollies and guppies.

Just a tip for next time, you didn't touch on water parameters. I know guppies and lollies like hard water, although they are so hardy it might not matter I know I have soft water and that why I struggled with guppies

I'm pretty sure that swordtails, guppies, platys and mollies can all crossbreed. I just had a female sword tail give birth as well as angelfish (feeding baby brine shrimp now) and my mystery snails are about the size of a pea that hatched a few weeks back.

I am having trouble with swordtails dying. They show no signs then bam they are hanging on the bottom. Can't swim right. Bodies look healthy but they are sick and then dead in one day. Water is good. I tried General cure on some and some I tried Prazipro. Nothing works. I have Platies , and Cories in the same tank. They are fine. All the swords came from one source fish store at different times. All my fish go to quarantine tank and are treated for worms ,ich and fungus before I put them in main tank. They are in Quarantine for 3 to 4 weeks. The sickness must be internal. No signs on the outside. They get sick in one day then die. They get weak and can hardly swim. About to give up on swordtails. Any suggestions please.

I sincerely admire your ambition and enthusiasm, I can see you genuinely care about the well being of the animals in your care. however whats also quite obvious is your inexperience as a fish keeper which is certainly not a crime, but perhaps you should focus your efforts on educating yourself before teaching others. its not fair for another enthusiastic beginner to make a possibly fatal mistake that they thought they had rightfully researched but ultimately were misinformed. beautiful tanks kid, keep up the great work, just be sure of what you say
