Today I show what I did to get my new "old" Toro Greensmaster 1000 to work. These machines are built like tanks and cut great so it's easy to see why everyone loves them.
Thank you and I totally agree. There is something special about the simplicity of the older models. It has been a super slow green up for me this year, I'm still not even there yet, it should be soon though, thanks for watching and commenting
I just want to say thank you I did what you did with a ryan greensair core areator i bought salvaged. Also had to replace the fuel line and I got it running. I promise you I was screaming lol 😆 with joy 😊
Thanks George yeah they are pretty sweet!!! I watched your tune up video as well which was very helpful, I always enjoy your content. Keep crushing it man!!
Awesome job man. I just picked up an old 04050 with an fg150. Can’t find a carb for this ole gal, but ordered a cheap carb for an fe150 to see if I can get it to work. If not that’s ok, I’ll get a new needle and float ( more expensive than Amazon carb)and hope that fixes my problem. She runs and cuts paper though!
Awesome man! You might be able to Frankenstein one together. Keep on eye on Amazon it's strange like when I was first looking they had plenty available then they ran out quick - I guess lots of folks are hunting for them. Sounds like you got a good one too!! 👍
I've been a mechanic in the golf industry for almost 20 years. Toro in my opinion is hands do the best. I've had several fleets of 3500's, 4500's, 1600's, flex 21's, 3400's and 5510's. Very little maintenance. The hardened bedknives last a year on the 3400 and 5510's. With proper backlapping we only ground the reels once a year when the bedknives finally needed changing.
Man I would prob just try to clean it. The one I got was on Amazon but says no longer available. I'd just order several if you have to and surely one will be decent then return the others. The oem carbs are expensive on those models.
@@BermudaBoss Does the bottom bowl come off of the OEM one? Every carb I've ever had, that bowl came off, but this one looks like it's stuck in there for good. May be designed that way and I don't wanna break it
I haven't had those in over 1 year so I can't go look to check for ya sorry. Maybe try running some seafoam or marvel mystery oil that might clear it up as well. Good stuff
@@BermudaBoss do you have a fg150 model by chance? I was wondering if you could tell me the exact carburetor cuz I've been looking but I can't find the correct one. The ones I've tried so far has a deep bowl and the one I need has to have a shallow bowl
@@darrensaliva sure thing! I think I bought like 5 different ones. The amhouse one seemed to run the best but your mileage may vary. I have some old OEM ones if you are interested they would need an ultrasonic cleaning though.
@@BermudaBoss i'm going to try to amhouse one. I saw the toro oem one on amazon but there was no picture or didnt say if it worked on the gm1000 or with the fe120g engine.
@@LuisGonzalez-bi9px ahh i see. You would need something with shaft that spins counter clockwise. I have not done a full engine swap on those models before.
