*"If the cost of the project overshadows the benefits for a society, then it is definitely not worth it" *Proper planning & Study of the viability of each project always needs multiple revisits Great takeaway from this case
Great to see the beach's back and big thanks to Pondy camp. Why wait for government to do everything local people & organisation can help and bring chances.
Some of the seafront towns on the east coast of Australia have built long breakwaters to protect the river entrances for boat traffic, and have sand-pumping to move sand from the up-current buildup to the down-current side of the breakwaters. A reef is a better solution in some ways because it will also increase fish populations. Good animations, cinematography, editing, and pacing.

Scientific studies and views expressed by the experts should be considered before committing for big projects as it impacts livelihood of the people. Though the beach is restored partially serious discussion should take place before committing big projects as the repair or restoration will consume huge expenditure.
Exactly, the marina was formed only due to the construction of Chennai Harbour and this mistake still haunts the lifeline of the north coastal Chennai population.
Most pondicherry tamils migrated to France nd many french people still living here. French people are so good nd they are the one who made our city beautiful.me a typical pondicherry girl married Telugu person settled in Bangalore. yes I agree more North Indians infiltrating the south and spoiling our environment by spitting gudka everywhere.i don't know instead of make their own place better why they are migrating to south? nd gov paying giving more fund to north states only but still they are coming here i don't know why😖😖
Thanks Arjun for your comment. We actually used the data from the 2015 Central Water Commission report on coastal erosion. The link is given here: cwc.gov.in/sites/default/files/assessment-coastal-erosion-along-indian-coast.pdf "According to the inventory, the total length of the main shoreline, which excludes the length of the mouth of estuaries, rivers, creeks and the inner part is 8414 km. Figure 2 shows the Maritime state/UT-wise distribution of coastal length. Andaman Islands has the longest coastal length ~1722 km and Lakshadweep Islands has the smallest coastal length of about ~136 km. Out of the 8414 km length of the Indian shoreline, around 45.5% (3829 km) is observed to be under erosion (Figure 3)." We, however see that you have a valid point, the MEA, data. We will add a rejoinder as a comment. Many thanks for pointing it out.
