My brother was a bad ass bronc rider! His name was "Bill Shultz" from wheeler county oregon, He passed away in 2009, he was also a TRUE REAL RANCHING COWBOY, and he was my hero....RIP, William howard shultz... a true cowboy
I'm an active duty military member that decided to get into the sport. It took me a long time because in my location it was hard to find a place to do it at. A video like this is perfect and would have been extremely useful before I went out and actually started at the riding clinic i went to. Great clean content that's clear and concise and a good starting point for those that want to get into it or are curious about it. Good job guys and I hope to see more content like this!
Thank you for your service, Sir! Would love to see your bronc riding experience. Live in Russia and unfortunately we don't have such sport here. So have to enjoy it only on YT. Blessings upon you!
How can I start saddle bronc riding? I'm a 13 year old in VA, and there really aren't any rodo school within 10 hours I can find. There are rodeos but no rodeo schools. I really want to try my hand at saddle bronc riding, so any advice would help!
I'm a female, my gramps used to take me to rodeos, he fought roosters too... I grew up on a ranch, but later was taken off into foster care due to abuse from my grandma. I was forsaken by my own family members and am what you call an orphan on earth BUT AM ADOPTED BY THE MIGHTY "IAM" AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, but ever since a horse named blue and I had our bucking battle I had a thrill from it, and can't shake it I held on that horse from sunset to sundown...we walked back to the sleep fort in the dark. The nan who rode with me he had to tell me to let go... but I didn't want to I wanted to square with this horse because well we just had beef with each other... and it was time to square it up....he ended up breaking the mand glasses which we found the next day miles from the sleep fort. And it was my second bucking with this horse. But the difference between rodeo and this one is I held it with two hands and welp I'm new to the bucking part and uhm I was looking at the horses chest most of the buck but was not letting go.... 😐😳 we had an issue that needed to be squared off. So ever since then I can't shake the thrill of bucking... and I WANT TO LEARN THIS... PLS TEACH ME. problem I don't have my own bronc or horse at this time like we used to. Do I need my own horse for the bronc riding? I know one hand is harder than it looks.
Hello, I have some other practical questions re bronc riders/competitions: 1) how do riders and broncs get paired up for an event? 2) How early does a rider find out which horse he will be riding? 3) How do riders know what order they'll be competing in so they can get the bronc ready in time? Thank you.
When is it to late to start? I’m 20 years old and in the marines, by the time I get out I’ll be 23, Saddle Bronc is something that runs in my family and I’ve always wanted to to do it.
hi i have rode bulls for a while now and this is my first time riding bronc i got a rodeo on the first so how much does it cost for a bronc saddle and stuff cost
Hi; roughly how long does saddle-bronc rigging last for riders who are competing 50+ times a year? I've read some pro saddle bronc riders replace their saddle every year, and I know equipment failure is a big concern of riders. Thank you.
Yeah im 15 and I live horses and i guess I saw this on TV and decided that this is what I wanted to do I'm going to try to enter the county rodeo for it if they'll let me hopefully I'll have enough money to buy everything I need
I am an author writing a fictional piece including a character who is a saddle bronc riding contestant. Your video is very informative. The setting for my character takes place in the rodeo chute as the rider is preparing to ride. Is a chute clock or timer used in this event where the prepared rider has so much time to get out of the chute before becoming disqualified? If so, how much time does the contestant have? Thank you in advance for your time and information.
This was extremely helpful I haven’t bucked in a long time just needed some tips as I’m getting back in to it this summer if theirs any rodeos if not I’m getting back in next summer
Thanks I'm considering starting as I used to have a good seat when I broke my neighbors mules but I had to take a break for awhile after a horse related accident happened
The Spurs actually do serve a purpose. The Spurs allow the rider to gain better contact on the horse using his boots, and they also help the rider gain some grip on the horse with his feet instead of holding on with just his hand or his thighs on the swells of his saddle. The rowels on bronc riding spurs are dull, so they're not designed to hurt the horse nor do they.
The rider gets the horse all set up to go, regular cinch and back cinch, but when the horse comes out of the chute at the end, there's another strap around his flanks that was never discussed. I assume that's at least part of why the horse bucks -- you're messing with his privates or at least making him really uncomfortable. But I never knew that the riders actually spur the horse to get him to buck. Could you pls explain the flank cinch and exactly what it does?
It doesnt touch their penis, otherwise mares couldnt be bucking horses. The flank is just a very sensitive area because its the must vulnerable to predators.
@@worldtravel101 I do believe I said messing w his privates OR at least making him really uncomfortable. Which is exactly what it does. LOL back at you.
