I have tried the sonicare DiamondClean and this Fairywill electric toothbrush: www.fairywill.com/collections/daily-clean/products/fairywill-electric-toothbrush-fw-507black-1 the fairywill uses similar tech and has all the same features but its 40,000 strokes a minute. and it only 20-30 bucks (based on what package you buy) the DiamondClean does feel good it's just too expensive. also i have preferred the fairywill because of its 1 month battery life. in the end you can buy either one. it's more of a preference. but if you want something similar to the DiamondClean but cost effective you could just get a fairywill.

I have tried the Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100 and this HSYTEK Dual electric toothbrush: amzn.to/2SV4kD9 the HSYTEK uses similar tech and has all the same features but its 48,000 strokes a minute. and it only 44.99 bucks the ProtectiveClean 5100 does feel good it's just too expensive. also i have preferred the HSYTEK because of its 2 month battery life. in the end you can buy either one. it's more of a preference. but if you want something similar to the ProtectiveClean 5100 but cost effective you could just get a fairywill.

​@@Philips Should we still use small motions around the tooth? Not like manual brushing, obviously, but small motions so that we can get the brushe's hairs between the teeth properly and cover all the sides of the tooth. I have seen this advise in comments that some medical recommend this as long as you stick to really small motions. It seems that even your clip has some of these motions, not only the horizontal one. It also feels that if I only use the horizontal movement, not all areas of the tooth are covered. So I move up and down as well, just small vertical motions on one or two teeth at a time, and also a small left to right, right to left motion on the tooth itself. It then looks like a small rotative motion. But the circle's radius is only as long as the tooth's width at max, so it's NOT that manual toothbrush really wide motion. Does this make sense? I see a lot of videos that explicitly and totally refute any circular motion with electric toothbrushes, sonic or not, with no explanation or going into detail. I feel like this should be better explained for people that want more detail. The standard, simple horizontal movement is not enough in my opinion. It really feels that I don't cover well in between the teeth with only that motion, although I am aware of the high frequency oscillating hairs of the brush. They just don't have the best angle, perpendicular, to the tooth's area of you don't move the toothbrush around the tooth.

Sadly my DiamondClean stopped charging. Purchased but box not opened for quite some time. Passed warranty, but not much use. Bummer. Should have easy to replace batteries!!!!

Mine was not used much and now the battery won't charge. Hubby found YT vids on replacing the battery. Fingers crossed that he can do it.

Even with moving the brush to a vertical position I find that it's kind of difficult sometimes to get into the space between teeth what is toothbrushes at least without applying further pressure which I understand is bad.

(Not educated in this subject, ) When first meeting with my hygienist, they suggested that I should avoid making micromotions with the sonicare toothbrush as with a manual, as the additional vibration would recede my gumline. It was suggested to use the gum setting to focus on them after regularly cleaning instead, because the intensity would be lowered and more comfortable, Though, careful to warn against staying in the same area even with a lowered setting. My gums had already receded a bit and I was directed to use a periodontal brush along the gumline after cleaning to target pockets, so this instruction may not apply to others. Additionally, my periodontal office promotes the sonicare diamondclean, with it displayed in a glass on a counter. As its intensity is higher than other sonicare brushes, it’s possible that the advisory to not make micro movements was specifically concerning it, not applying to others.

The recommended time is just enough for the teeth if they are brushed twice daily. If you are looking for a solution to yellowed teeth, we also have the Philips Zoom which is specially designed for that task. I use the Lunar blue one too. But I feel every types of the brushes are pretty hard. I saw some studies show that soft brush head is better for gum health. what do you think? i am kinda confused why Philips use hard ones.

The strength of the vibrations can be surprising when you use an electric toothbrush for the first time. It is normal to feel more vibration when using a manual toothbrush. Some models include an EasyStart feature. This feature slowly increases the vibration during the first 14 brushing sessions. It allows you to gradually get used to the vibrations. If you still feel it is too powerful, you can consider reducing the intensity level. Some brushing modes use different intensity levels. You can try to change the brushing mode. Your manual defines them as upper front/back and lower front/back, then says after the timer is over, "spend additional time brushing the chewing surfaces" - that is a direct quote. If you scan the comments below you'll see others have been confused about this. If you google "quadpacer chewing surfaces" the top link shows people have been confused about this since at least 2004. I would happily share direct links to your manual but RU-vid doesn't allow external URLs in comments.But go to Philips USA site and look at page 12 of the manual for the 4100.

Thank you for further elaborating on it, Mark. We've taken a look at the manual and the Quadpacer feature is the same as on the video. The placement of the number might have caused confusion but it suggests similar divisions as above while brushing. Also, after finishing a whole 2-minute of brushing session, you may extend or continually brush the top part of your teeth (chewing surfaces) and other areas where staining usually occurs. To clean deeper between your teeth you should use the Philips Sonicare Air Floss. Brushing alone wouldn't be enough to clean between your teeth.

For the gum health mode, the second round of brushing is the same as the first, just with a different vibration mode? Also, the manual talks about inner and outer surfaces, but doesn't talk about chewing surfaces at all.

That's correct, the Gum Health mode adds an extra minute of reduced power brushing to the end of the standard two-minute program. Because the Gum Health mode focuses on the health of the gums, this mode is empathizing the inner and outer surfaces as they are connected to the gums.

how do I know when the battery is empty?

Not the chewing surfaces, you need to budget your time for that during one of the quadrant times.

Ah! That's exactly what my dentist told me yesterday. She said to do all the uppers outside in the first segment, then inside upper, etc. I find it hard to re-position my hand to do all the way around, though.

I came here due Oclean One doesnt have a very specific instruccions in the app, it only say pass 30 seconds quarter of the mouth, but it should be in 3 areas per quarter, so 10 seconds in the inner, upper and outer side. But the app doesnt recognice where you are, just when you lift it,okay is a 70€ toothbrush but lets see if we can improve it
