My kids didn't believe me that they needed to brush for two minutes but they believed a video by a dentist. Thank you! They were motivated to brush their teeth again after the pictures.
I wished I had perfect white teeth but growing up i didn't really have my parents so i didnt have good oral hygiene so I've had alot of cavaties and my teeth are yellow but now that I'm 13 I'm trying to better my oral hygiene and ur tips help thanksa
Prerequisite information: Brush for 2 mins twice a day (tooth decay begins roughly 24 hours without brushing after eating) Use fluoride-based toothpaste (reinforces calcium) Make sure you spit the toothpaste out but don’t rinse it out for protection (you don’t want to remove what’s good for your teeth immediately after you brush, it’s a waste of money, time, energy and negates all the positives of brushing your teeth) Manual Brushing: 1. Apply pea-sized amount of toothpaste onto toothbrush (the amount they use in advertisements is just to make you waste more and therefore buy more later) 2. Use circular motions to brush while pointing the brush at an angle 45 degrees towards the gums both on the outside and inside (so it can go under the gums that surround your teeth) BRUSH YOUR TONGUE (if you want fresh breath and a clean mouth) Replace toothbrush every 3-4 months or if the bristles look fuzzy
Thanks for doing this. I am 62 years old and despite regular visits to the dentist,, none has ever shown me the proper brushing technique. This is a have changed for me. #teambeforebreakfast new convert.
A dentist recommended this video to me and it literally changed my life. For years I had suffered from bleeding gums, and now I don't. Thank you very much Dr Yewande!
Loved this, thank you! Preteen kiddo just asked me how to brush the front teeth, because so much education had focused on the back teeth, they just didn't know what's recommended for the front teeth. Now I'm confident in addressing the question!
I used to eat sweets very often, and though I also brushed my teeth two-min-twice-a-day as you said, I got teeth decay. After checking my teeth, my dentist asked me if I brushed my teeth okay and I told him that, he wondered for a second "Twice a day huh," but never asked *how* properly I did or recommended anything better. Now I figured that I'd always rinsed my mouth with water after brushing, while the toothpaste was supposed to be there to protect my teeth from my eating habits 😭 I'm trying to do as you said, though it feels very weird because I keep swallowing and I can taste the excess toothpaste. But I'll make it a new habit. Thank you very much for this video!!!
I've been brushing my teeth the wrong way my whole life. Thank you so so much for this! I'm team BEFORE breakfast!!😌 Just stumbled upon your channel. You're so beautiful by the way! Thank you once again!❤
I got a decent electric toothbrush which I prefer over the disposable ones. You can replace the brush itself and it’s noticeable better than the 3$ ones I used to use. It also has 4 options (clean, soft, whiten, massage) which I feel are good for my gums
Hi there i like your video for manual brushing and follow your way but it does take me longer than 2 minutes to finish perhaps due my autism and you also said about spending enough time and not rushing is another reason it takes me longer but still I like this way. many thanks Dr Yewande
Hi! 💕Question: Do you have a video on wisdom teeth coming in? My 14 year old grandson has been experiencing daily pain and swelling in all 4 wisdom teeth areas. Went to dentist who just said it’s normal and basically to deal with it. Is this all we can do for him? He’s in pain in varying amounts every day. Please give advice. Thank you! Your videos have helped me so much!
Thank you for this video Dr. Yewande! I am a new user of electric tooth brush because kriss ai said that it is more efficient and this tutorial really helped me! I subscribed to your channel to see more of your videos! ❤
Great choice! Electric toothbrushes can indeed be more efficient in maintaining oral hygiene. Dr. Yewande's tutorial is really helpful. how do you use kriss ai?
@@ryanfajardo4364 Oh, it's super easy! u just hop on your browser, look up Kriss AI, type in your question, and voila! Instant answers. It's like having your dental assistant right at your fingertips. So handy!
GIRL! They’re telling us to go back in forth, up and down! I’ve always done it in circular motions and I don’t have gum recession, so I’m gonna continue 😂
Just tried not rinsing for the 1st time. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Thank you. What teeth whiteners do you recommend? I want to whiten my bottom ones, but not my top? I don't know why they aren't the same color. Thank you!!
Just gently moving along doing the work for you. Dalak down bl outer or just move it a bit to be faster.4-5 seconds per tooth. Circler motion. Middle left you flip toothbrush outside
Yewande, thank you for this 👆 tips, but please how can one get rid of bad breath, secondly, how can one get the electric toothbrush? Thirdly, can the electric toothbrush get rid of halitosis completely? Then are you saying that one shouldn't rinse after brushing at all or just at night? Please what do you suggest I do. Thank you 🙏 I am team brush 🖌️ before breakfast
I am now a team in brushing my teeth soon 30 minutes after breakfast, reasons are I am retired, I did everything as this video suggested all my life but i still had a killing me painfully molar tooth cavity recently;
Ok…sigh so please no judgements …but I take about 7 to 10 mins to brush my teeth every morning (it has went down a lot it use to be longer). I honestly can’t help it. I feel like if I don’t brush my teeth throughly it won’t be clean. Over the years I have change my techniques to shorten the time but still been able to do what I feel I need to do. Recently I got a battery powered toothbrush which I’m loving ! And I thought it might shorten my tooth brushing but that lasted for a day and now its back to 7 to 10 mins of brushing. I don't know what to do I need help... is there any advise you can offer to me ?? I honestly don’t even have that much time in the morning to be staying on my teeth that long PLEASE HELP 😫😩
I have the same issue since i have OCD, what helps me is to follow the technique as shown in this video and brush for 3 minutes rather than two so i feel like I’m giving an extra bit of cleaning but not so much like my usual 10 minutes. Then i thoroughly brush my tongue because it gives a nice clean feeling and makes me feel less anxiety over potentially not being clean. If I’m having a really bad day and feel compulsions to go back and brush again because it just doesn’t feel right, i use a anti cavity mouthwash and swish for a minute or so which helps take away the fear of not feeling clean :)
I brush after breakfast but wait at least 30 minutes because of the high acidity levels. If i dont have time, I rinse with salt-water or mouthwash to neutralize PH value and then brush.
I asked my dentist about spit not rinse and he seemed to have no clue to what i was talking about. Is there any reliable source where I can read about spit not rinse, and is it a newer concept?
As regards not rinsing the mouth, what if we swallow some remains and also we can still eat without rinsing the mouth, 😄 I'm sorry I just kinda find this so weird.. Wow
You brush after breakfast!!! If you brush your teeth, then eat, you’re getting it messy all over agin! If you brush after, you’re cleaning your dirty teeth.
incorrect! bacteria builds up in your mouth overnight, if you eat breakfast before brushing those bacteria get nutrients to feed on, then they multiply and destroy teeth enamel. brush right as you wake up, then rinse with mouthwash after breakfast for best results
Hi I wanted to ask you showed how to brush your top and bottom set of teeth outside and inside but how many rounds do you brush your top set and bottom set each time.
Thanks for this info ; but going to the dentist to do deep cleaning once a yr ; destroyed my teeth & my gut flora as l was given to much antibiotic as during the Pandemic l couldnt go & l had one tooth that needed removing as the filler came out & the tooth couldnt be saved ; l was administered 3 times in 4 mnts antibiotics that caused my gut flora to get messed up , am now trying to heal it but its a long process & am afraid of going back to the dentist to get check ups from now on
Hello, thanks for the video! Great content and I learned something new. I have a question about mouthwash. What role does it play if we don’t rinse the toothpaste off?
Sorry, I know this is a year late, but the role of mouthwash is basically to quickly wash your mouth out after meals and keep your breath smelling fresh. It isn’t a strict necessity for good oral hygiene, though.
Is it best to use electric toothbrush or a regular toothbrush because I use a soft bristle toothbrush I never tried electric one and then I used Tom's anti-plaque whitening toothpaste and I also floss my teeth after I brush at night I use the placards micro mint dental floss are they good to use and is Tom's antiplaque whitening toothpaste good to use please let me know and thank you so much I'm trying to take good care of my teeth
hi yewande ! are u practicing dentist ?if a person has excruciating pain due to cavity and goes to clinic is there any instant solution to relief the pain and send the person happy and laughing instead of just prescribing pain kilers and sending the patient with pain and tears ?question is there any solution for instant relief or there is not in modern dentistry ?on 12.11.2021 during night i was eating chapati a tooth pain started all of a sudden pain with tears in my eyes .then friend told me use cloves .i chewed and spat cloves .it was fine little but todays is 16.11.2021 and pain is there and cant chew with that side and it is swollen though a day before it was little fine .can a dentist have instant solution?i hope my point is understood thanks.
I brush 3 and a half mins - 4 mins (max) in the night. Is that bad? I have OCD and can’t seem to shorten the time 😢 I use electric and hold gently on each tooth surface for 3 seconds..
