Thank you so much and my apologies for replying so late! I just saw your post now?! In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" in nature. I simply LOVE the imperfections in nature, and quite honestly don't see them as imperfect, only beautiful and the way it was meant to be. All my work is infused with nature in mind, I incorporate natural elements into my work, and embrace all the cracks, drips and textured elements along the way. All the embellishments you see in this piece are rusted nails, rusted wires, silk that I had eco-printed, broken mirror and threads, things I gathered along my walks. I don't really force anything into my work, just play and create and let things move me as they will. I teach an encaustic wabi sabi workshop demonstrating how to "let go" when creating a piece of art. Did I answer your question? excuse all typos :)
