Great stuff. Id like ti give it a go. Any links to the coax, project box, torroids, and bnc connectors ? I can find them, just wondering if you had a prefered supplier. Thanks! DE W4EMB
Hey Ed! A 1:1 choke is a great addition to a POTA comms bag especially when activating near high tension wires. The RG316 I bought from Amazon - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0107RF56O/ The BNC's I get from Mouser/Digikey and sometimes Hamfests. Toroids I grab from Mouser/Newark or Hamfests/eBay. But if you buy them on eBay or Hamfests check their inductance by winding them a few times and check the numbers using an LCR meter. Project box's I get from from Hawk - www.hawkusa.com/manufacturers/hammond-mfg/enclosures/box-plastic/1591mbk Thanks for your interest! 73 DE N3VAN
hi. nice video. i'm gonna start with my diy UnUn 1:1 soon and i got a question: why 19 windings? usually i've seen videos with the usual 10 windings on a 43 mix....if you have explained during the building, i messed it
I have a 100 watt transceiver..and an inverted V antenna for 20 metre band. I have a 140-43 and want to build this RF choke. Will this handle 100 watts SSB ?
Thanks! I built QRP EFHW's with the FT140-43 and they handle ~60 watts SSB, 20 watts digital and 10 watts CW. So this should do the same in theory. Will be testing it during POTA activations. I also plan on building a smaller one similar to my QRP EFHW I made for Winter Field Day 2023.
