In this video, we run through the removal of the engine, the components we use in making a 200hp setup for the TD42. In part 2, we fit it all up and see how it goes!
You guys really know what you’re doing when it comes to these TD 42s build a bullet-proof engine Like it’s a walk in the park good job keep the content up guys
i can make 240 hp. 700nm.. from a 4.2tdi mwm sprint, with a tdo6 turbo,,nothing else.. it has 510nm std, 140hp std.. 2000 s/duty.. not 1950,s tech..85kw bs..@@adventurecorp
Can't wait to see P2! I've rebuilt my TD42T with ceramic coated pistons and a few other bits about 10k ago. Looking at intake plenum soon and new 18G..... Can't wait to plagurise your work! LOL
Awesome Video . About to mod mine and do sort of the same . Question how much for you guys to do this mod .Ruff Guess ? and how can I win this what's the process?
almost finished building my 1990 gq wagon modified body 1983 wb panelvan been a long time process. due to be reg in next few weeks. just came upon your video, hows that for timing. motor is original td42 non turbo low km. Im interested in doing something like this to upgrade the ponies. by the way love the wrap on the mudguards prior to working over them. great idea.
howdy, so i own a Gu TD42 and am thinking of upgrading turbo and then dyno what not. curious whats the pricing for a turbo kit upgrade drive in drive out? cheers
So Iv owned 3 Gu utes, yet to own a hot one but seen plenty of them.. mine has injector crack pressures raised, fiddled pump and a high flowed turbo with cross country cooler.. does go well and doesn't overheat.. My question to you is after you pull 200hp what are the chances of this getting warm? And I'm not talking unloaded around the streets I mean loaded car, towing a trailer and full noise up a steep range.. because that's were I need it to run cool?? I genuinely want to know as I'm toying with retiring the old girl and just moving to the dark side and buying a Toyota haha I love these cars but Nissan really havnt been coming up with the goods these last few years (2007 and up) lol
Hey guys just curious if that engine is a non turbo black top and what you think is an acceptable power limit with them and what should be done to keep it in check, cheers
@@adventurecorp ooh nice will you show us how to put arp head studs in and the grinding required for the extra boost and the added safety of the studs to stop the warping of head due to the added boost and power? Pretty keen on this build while I work on my td patrol
@@adventurecorp oh even better less cost for a decent amount of gain thank you for your help. I was informed towards over 22 psi with a td if you tow arp studs are required so I may be able to save some cost on my build that’s great news thanks.
I run a stroker set up td42 patrol gu Ute built by southern engines. Factory radiator Best thing is superior air dam steering protector like the plastic factory one that I have never seen on a vehicle. It creates a low pressure area under the radiator/car DT79A thermostat High flow water pump Proper radiator caps 1.3 bar or better Pool noodles around the radiator so air has to go into the radiator cannot bypass. Look at what lights you run that stops air flow as well. Fan and hub upgrade as well I run a powercurve fan and hub on mine. Diesel Water wetter to help stop micro boiling and coolant mix. 24pound boost 14mm pump Plazmaman Intake modified Cross country intercooler Arp studs on top are a must over 20 pound 256 hp 750nm at wheels
@@adventurecorp that's awesome, a long and tall engine in a tight space behind the front diff and radiator, funny how they have a really short rear tailshaft but the front is that long it needs a carrier bearing.
Great video. Absolutely love the car and what you guys do. You're very knowledgeable. BUT. Why make the cheapest entry ticket to win the car at $50? That seems far too expensive for a corny worth less than 40k. There are now at least half a dozen reputable companies doing car giveaways in Australia and they have $20-30 ticket options for half a million dollar cars..... I jumped straight onto the website to try win the TD42 until I saw minimum entry price is $50.... Some of us just can't afford that.
Hey mate, There's a heap of options around the $20 mark in the store. For every $1 you spend you get 1 entry, you don't have to just enter with the easy entries, every product gets you in the draw.
@@adventurecorp ahhh true no way. I didn't know that or read it anywhere. Just put my entry in by buying your cheapest $20 bracelet, only to get stung with $9 postage lol. So call it $30 for your cheapest ticket option :).....
